I’ve been thinking and tinkering. But yes, as money is the biggest concern at the moment, I realized – why not use vouchers and discount cards and coupons to get by in life? Wouldn’t it kinda “relieve” yourself from the trouble that you’re facing every now and then?
But these vouchers and discount cards are what I call “entertainment” and “impression” cards. Because they only allow you to either have fun or dress to impress. Since when a voucher or discount card is given to you when you want to study at NUS or NTU? Or do you think that you can actually have discount cards and vouchers for learning driving more cheaper than the normal rates that apply? Dream on la. Some things are meant to be in the head only.
I actually have this crazy idea but I know that my girl wouldn’t be free to do that. So I decided to go for it with my friends. And that idea will be to change for a one night stay voucher at Conrad Centennial Hotel, with 15% discount at the Centennial Spa plus breakfast for 2 and many other things. But I still have to top up an additional 200 dollars. And since it’s quite a big amount, why not call some friends over and chip in the fun. I hopefully think that a good view will greet us when we enter the room. Then all of us could go catch a late night movie, play some pool, go and see the sunrise the next morning with a little walk to the park at the Sheares Bridge. Seems like a perfect thing for me. =). All we have to decide on is a date that everyone is convenient with. Like a chalet outing. Just that it’s higher in class. Lol.
I do believe that vouchers and discount cards are the best thing in life. If you look at it at a saving way then it will be of benefit to everyone. But if you look at the spending point of view, then the discount cards are at the disadvantage because it kind of encourages one to spend more but to get discount as well. The vouchers sometimes could be used to exchange for something and therefore, you might get something free eventually. And that’s what I’ve been thinking about for this the hotel voucher that I could exchange. But I couldn’t blame myself for exchanging that because Starhub Reward Gifts are sucky. Nothing is in my favour. Oh well, seems like 2008 is a new and fun year after all!.
