Are you doing your part?

Filed under: Friends, Just Updates, earth, interest, life, mood, motion, rant, recycling, singapore, street, whatever — egomarc @ 12:55 am

I actually have this carton box that I kept just right beside my desk for people to actually put in their ONE-sided printed paper for recycling usage. So that in return, others who wish to print their stuff can always take paper and print it on the other empty side. That might help, eventually, save some trees in the wild.

And it’s quite surprising that since everyone in the world knows that the Earth is dying, then why isn’t anyone doing anything to at least do a small part to save the planet that we created? Well, I think by human nature, everyone’s selfish. And yes, because companies are doing their part to cut cost here and there, but then when your boss asks you to print a new set for him/her, do you have a choice but to use a fresh piece of paper? Like today, I printed a stack of paper to make it into a booklet, and one booklet makes up like 100 over pages. Maybe it shouldn’t be called a booklet because a booklet is a smaller version of a book, like piglet is a small pig. (Definitely not a bullet for a small bull, or staplets for a smaller staple bullet.) We should just stick to the word “Manual”.

So I actually printed 7 of that manual. And that’s like 700 to 800 over pages. I felt rather sinful and painful in the heart, but like I said, work and other priorities kinda overlapped the whole situation, and eventually you are forced to “destroy” Earth, just because your boss wants a better impression on the company. So is saving the Earth important to anyone in the first place? I guess not. Maybe environmentalist. But not office workaholics. Imagine if the whole world is filled with maybe 100 SQM of offices, and with everyone trying to print a stack of 5 papers, it’s no wonder the oxygen level in this world is depleted and slowly on the verge of “extinction”.

People, if you don’t do your part to save this little planet of this universe, no one could. It won’t harm you to just take a one-sided paper and do your printing. It doesn’t kill to stretch out your injured hand just to throw away that Coke bottle/can for recycling. It will never be suicidal to donate your newspapers to agencies that can use these papers for better creation of products. So come one, why aren’t you moving? Why are you still staring at this words and sentences? Get your ass off that seat and start moving your empty bottles and discarded cardboard boxes to the door and be ready to give it to the recycling man. You won’t know, maybe your children might be able to live in a better environment. =)

Big F?

Filed under: Just Updates, interest, life, mood, peck seah, rant, singapore, street, whatever — egomarc @ 12:28 am

Just came back from work today. Ended work like what, 11:30pm? Mad. I’m so freaking tired. But I know I couldn’t live one day without blogging. But I won’t be able to blog from next week onwards as I will be out staying somewhere in Singapore just for the fair before coming back on the 8th. Then I will so freaking shagged and out that I won’t be able to blog. But now, today I learnt a very good lesson at work.

I always have this mentality last time whenever who is bigger than me then I go “Big? Do I look afraid to you?” Sounds very arrogant and confident huh. But it kinda boost your morale and mental strength to face difficult task ahead of you. I find it interestingly effective. So whenever you see something big, dun fret, just tell yourself “This? Big Fuck ah?” LOL. Then you will realise that you have just finished what you are tasked with. Stand up right, bring it on, because you will not be afraid of anything or anyone. =)

That’s my mentality at work now. No forward movement = More stalled work. So perhaps I won’t be blogging for a while next week. Hopefully I can try to update at least a few words but maybe without a pic of the day. =(. Gotta rest now. Another day of OT awaits me.

Modelling.

Filed under: Just Updates, hobbies, interest, life, modelling, mood, singapore, whatever — egomarc @ 12:10 am

Today at work, there’s an open audition for models to somewhat do some promoting during the show day on the 9th to the 12th of March. Then when I thought about it, and I mentioned to myself – is modelling a good career in Singapore? Is there any way that models can actually go far in life other than just parading down the aisle of fame?

In the past, I believe models do have a certain quota to meet. Like facial looks, you gotta possess those looks that will keep old uncles staring at your face in disbelief, like they have seen the Goddess of Mercy or something. Plus, you gotta be thin and tall. Like bamboo poles that your mum used to hang clothes out of those HDB flats. I was joking on the as thin as a bamboo part. But yes, you gotta be relatively thin and tall to be a model. Short ones were like “rejected” or so. But who do we blame for their genetically short height? Their ancestors? I don’t think you wanna offend them. Lol.

As modern days approaches, I believe now due to models suffering from anorexia, which could lead to hospitalization or worse, death. Seen a few potential hotties just kicking the bucket. What a loss to the modelling world. But who are we to blame but them for their “out-of-control” self-control and discipline just to maintain that bone-revealing body. Which is why you see models now either being a little more than skinny or with a decent height. Not that short to the point of an ant’s size.

Modelling in Singapore could be considered a slightly big thing as I believe Singaporean females do have the potential and opportunity to model for many brands and stuff. But because of the Asian genes of height deficiency, females here tend to feel rather disappointed by the fact that they don’t really meet the requirements. But generally, I believe that if given the chance, they could really succeed here. Definitely, portfolios are majority plus points for job captures. Photographers are important as well, as they can really make people look much more beautiful than their original person. But it will be even better if the original person is originally elegant and beautiful.

So what can we do in Singapore to promote modelling? Well, if only an agency is being set up for females to sign up as a model. Then they shall wait for phone calls from the agency to be attached to either a show or company for modelling events and all that you can think of. Definitely, the company or so would approach the agency and state their necessary requirements, and from there, the agency will pick suitable candidates and send their portfolios for the company to review before deciding whether to hire that model for the show or event. Then the models will be paid accordingly. Ain’t it a great idea? But of course, the company needs to be branded a reliable company because – some people go around asking people to pay for doing up their portfolios and stuff. I rather the models-to-be do up their portfolios via studios before submitting their portfolio to the agency, rather than paying a sum just to get their portfolio done. What a waste of money.

So now, I had the great opportunity to set up one. But do I have the equipment? No. Do I have the necessary capital? No. How do I go by publicising this company’s idea to provide decent models for shows and events? Only God knows how. But that idea above somehow reminds me of a maid agency. LOL. But maids are different as they are attached to their employers for a long time or till the contract ends. Whereas for that agency above, it will provide the models and once the show ends, they are free again and might be hired for another show.

I do believe there are companies that do these stuff by hiring models. But their profitable factor is whereby they provide packages of portfolio creation and photo-taking, which might cost a lot. If I have the agency, I will just mention to the company seeking models for events to have my models paid a reasonable or if so, a good sum of cash, where the agency will take like 25% to 30% of the pay and the rest will go to the model. But definitely, interviews will be created and portfolios have to be well done before we can hire a model. But the agency can definitely do a portfolio for the model, just that eventually it will end up like that idea of expensive portfolio making. Perhaps making it cheaper will be more intriguing. Haha.

Well, ladies, if you have what it takes to be a model, do not be afraid to audition yourself. It is a great opportunity for a break-through into the industry, especially the fashion industry. Think about it. It’s part-time cash. Haha.

Le Carte Wheel.

Filed under: Just Updates, ferris wheel, flyer, interest, life, mood, rant, singapore, whatever — egomarc @ 12:12 am

Yes, the big wheel is done in Singapore and its operating either clock or counter-clock. So how magnificent can this ferris wheel be, after it was deemed the largest and tallest ferris wheel in the world. I went there on Saturday and I have analyzed the good and bad of it.

As many have known after reading the Strait’s Times preview of the 4 directional views of the Singapore Flyer, the big “cart-wheel” is standing taller than the London Eye by “I-dunno-how-tall” metres. As expected, you can catch a great glimpse of the Central Business District. But to what advantages does this humungous attraction have to create that pull factor?

At the bottom of the Flyer lies a “Rainforest” planted and maintained by your everyday digestive drink, Yakult. Don’t ask me why they have set-up a rainforest at the foot of a cart-wheel, not to mention the link between “rainforest” and “digestion”. But I can tell that there’s something called “recycling” that can be related to the trees and the bottles. Like everyone else, I was rather fascinated at the wheel functioning, and definitely from far you couldn’t notice it moving till you have made a move to the bottom of it.

And speaking about the bottom, there’re restaurants and cafes waiting to open. There’s the likes of Popeye’s Chicken and Biscuit, some Mexican restaurant, and many others. There’s a 7-eleven there just in case you need to grab a bite or drink. There’s also the fish therapy thing, where those small fishes will go nibbling on your feet for all the shit you got there. Haha.

Wait till night time and you can see the whole wheel lit in neon blue. What a beauty. No one would have expected that big wheel to be so beautiful at night. Who knows what attention it might bring out. For more pictures of the flyer and myself and friends, please head to Facebook for a better preview. I do accept comments for the pictures as well. =)

Now, the bad point. Why aren’t Singaporeans like us offered a discount price for the tickets to ride up the flyer, which will eventually be another significant object and might be a future structural icon? It isn’t worth it for us Singaporeans, whom have seen enough of the views of the Central Business District, to just go up higher for less than an hour just to see the same thing at a higher altitude.

I typed that because it’s rather expensive for a less than an hour ride. Yes, I do agree the view is breath-taking from far, but at least give us Singaporeans a special price because, we, the nation’s heartbeat, deserve something special after all our tax payer’s money goes to that wheel that only turns and not entertain. From the way I look at the price, I knew it was a rip off for anyone that visits it, be it a tourists or an ordinary Singaporean.

To me, the flyer will be a one-off ride for any Singaporean. Because, I can really do many other things with 30 dollars by my side. Overall, the flyer’s structure is amazing, and definitely worth having a photo-shoot there or two. Go check it out. No harm taking a wheel on the background. =)

Juno

February 2008 didn’t had many nice movies to be catching up with. But when I saw this movie’s ad, it kinda reminded me about the teenage hoo-ha about early pregnancy and Singaporean teens keenly curious about it and trying it out as if it was some minor risk without foreseeing the future.  So I began interested in it since it won an award and of course, with actresses like Ellen Page (X-Men 3) and Jennifer Gardner, it’s not that bad of a movie.

The plot – Penned by Diablo Cody, the film’s story revolves around Juno, a unique 16-year-old girl. When faced with an unplanned pregnancy, she makes brave call of keeping the baby and finding the “perfect” adoptive parents. In the course of facing some tough decisions, she flirts with adulthood and ultimately comes into her own as a witty and independent teenager.

If you think that this movie is just another one of those chick flicks, then perhaps you should just watch it to prove yourself wrong. The plot was really good, with tongue-in-cheek humour and a wonderful script. Ellen Page’s acting skills are really excellent, not to mention being backed up by Jennifer Gardner as well, whom both her and Ellen has displayed so much emotions in their crying and happiness. The acoustic music that was playing on the background on some scenes were melodious and ear-drum friendly, making this show a peace to watch as well.

In all, it’s a very independant film that only those who could appreciate what a tough life it would be. With everything that I liked about this show, it’s truly a brilliantly crafted movie to really wake up some Singapore teenagers about early pregnancy. 2 Thumbs up. =)

Ratings - 5 out of 5 stars (only for people who can appreciate it.)

It’s rather uncertain to say that I’m going through a great time in life. 3 main factors in life are actually giving me more stress than ever. Its already the 24th of February and it’s kinda fast. If you think about it, I just ate Haru Dining like almost 2 months ago. Come on, how fast is that?

The weekend has once again past all of us in a blink of an eye, making every time spent so quick as if a Formula 1 vehicle just drove past you. Life. Just past like that. In a whisker. How could one even accept the fact of life now? I mean, look at what’s happening. I can’t believe I’m facing difficulties like it’s a pestering habit. How I wished that I had what I want now and every problems in the mind could just disappear like a Copperfield stunt.

And I seriously don’t know what I’m blogging today. I’m basically typing words here like what you are reading now just for the sake of typing.

I had light in my life
Then it became love in the dark
I have nothing else to say
It’s just an eclipse of the heart.

Overdrive.

Filed under: Just Updates, interest, life, mood, rant, whatever — egomarc @ 12:52 am

From next week onwards, I think I won’t be free for almost anything that is gonna happen in my social life. Because. I have work that might take up 2 to 3 weeks of my life, which is also like 2 to 3 weeks of torture to the mind and soul. So I will kinda be out of the social topic, so I will just proceed on with work grilled into my mind. Crap. It’s seriously taking a toll on me.

For the record, I’m packed and maxed out during March. From 4th to the 8th March, I will be busy with overseeing the constructions of the exhibitor booths from Hall 3 – Hall 9 at Singapore Expo. Subsequently, I will be staying out at Laguna Country Club. With no computer or laptop, I wouldn’t be able to access the net for like 4 to 5 days. To make it worse, 9th to 12th of March would be the show. And given the distance to travel home and the time to reach home, eventually I will just have to sleep for a few hours before getting my ass back up to Expo. Again. And yes, as many know, I stay at this rural area in Singapore, no matter how convenient you call it.

So after the show, it will be the time where I will start recuperating and make sure I will get like 36 hours of sleep, just to recover the loss of sleep. =). Then it strucked me that from the 14th to the 24th, its just 10 days to my driving test. And I will be learning driving as if it was a hobby already. Most of all, I’ve gotta get used to it and practice as much as I could before I take the test. Hopefully I pass. Best is don’t panic will do. Once I get my license, going anywhere is not a problem anymore. Lol.

Then came our organised “Exercise Havoc Night”. Lol. It’s just a small gathering that I organised after changing for a Hotel Voucher under Starhub. Will leave you people to guess which hotel it is though. Haha. But then, its still on the March. And it’s on the 29th. Worse. I need to apply for my studies. Don’t mentioned about my birthday on April because I don’t plan to celebrate it except with my girl, who insist on it. Haha.

Well, will go have a dosage of DOTA before I head to bed. Need to go Prata-ing with the rest of the gang. Til Then.

What a blur.

Filed under: Just Updates, life, mood, rant, whatever — egomarc @ 11:39 pm

Worked hard today, being given a humongous task. Glad to finish the liaising today, but all ain’t over yet. Still got the show to run. Hopefully I will do well, then at least have a good impression before I leave the company to seek further studies. I was hoping to apply for SMU, which I can either study Business Management. But I know, like any other engineering student, the only but yet optional elective related to business would be Essentials of Marketing. So what makes me think that I have the quality and greatness to study Business Management?

Well, it’s still a blur in the mind now, like a fog cloud covering every living soul, devouring them into the mist. I always have a mindset whereby a Business Degree, be it Business Administration, Business Management, Marketing and the list goes on, it is still a “no-point-to-study-because-you-can-study-it-personally” degree. That makes me think quite lowly about Business. But because Engineering ain’t easy to get in, and as well as the money and time is running out in life, I’ve no choice but to AT LEAST get a degree to increase my pay no matter what job I could attain in the future. At least having a degree in whatever name you will call it still portrays the fact that you HAVE a degree. In this society, they pay you via qualification. Lower qualification warrants you a lower pay definitely.

But on the other hand, earning money is what I’ve been getting used to. If I don’t earn any money, then what do I have to do to get the money and pay all my handphone bills and stuff? Part time? I think it will just kill me. Seriously. I can’t really work and study at the same time. I will lose my concentration. And piling up the pressure at work and school will just make my body break down like a wrong move in Jenga or UNO Stacko you call it. Man, this is really getting tough. To add fuel to fire, my brain is actually very empty of studies already. Makes me even wonder what a textbook is all about. Crap man.

Sometimes I wonder what life is really about in Singapore. It’s bad being a guy in Singapore. Why? You will have to waste 2 freaking years in NS and during that point of time, your brain deteriorates to the point that you forgotten everything about freedom and school and all they inculcate into your mind is just “chiong-sua” and fighting for the country. Yes, I agree that Singapore needs people like us to protect. But seriously, if that’s the case, then you might as well fund us in our studies. Not in a point of signing on, but as a civilian, the least the government should do is actually support us financially in terms of getting back into our studying life, funding us the amount of money and time to “recover” the loss time of getting a degree earlier.

Now I feel stupid in life. Become a dumbass in life ain’t fun. =(.

Political.

Filed under: Just Updates, life, mood, whatever — egomarc @ 12:07 am

Don’t worry. I won’t be mentioning anything about the government. Office politics. This is what I’m going to talk about today. No matter who reads it. No matter who sees it. Be it you, me or anyone else.

Well, the office runs like anywhere else in the army, or at any other office doing any other sorts of job. The CEO is just like the Commanding Officer or the abbreviation CO so to speak. The Assistant Director would be known as the S3 of the company or in army terms, the unit. Well, the Senior Executives are like Battery Commanders whereas the Executives are like Platoon Commanders or Platoon Sergeants. Well, where do I stand you must be asking. I can tell you that I’m just as low as an LCP. Not a Lance Corporal, but more of a Lan Chiao Peng. (Dick Soldier in direct translation.)

I have been working for 3 months at this company, which had me save a lot of my cash on food and travelling. But I have seen on numerous occasions, people in this company with different personalities which I forbid to comment. What I portray for the individuals to be like and what they really are eventually will never change. After all those incidents and backdoor discussions, I couldn’t help but to eavesdrop and oversee. Why? Don’t mind me for being “kaypoh” or busybody. I did that just to save myself as well.

I have always been keeping silent as being taught by my dad, because to observe is to know. And to know is to learn from one the right thing the right way. Being observant serves as a survivor tip in the office, because living in this kind of condition ain’t easy at all, especially when I’m an officer during NS times. And when you enter civilian life, your status is being reduced to an Ikan Bilis. That’s rather sad though. LOL.

Counting down the days to the end of my job, I’ve already settle down, getting the hang of the job and the hospitality that my colleagues have given me so generously. Couldn’t have done it without them. This group is just a minority of the whole office. Because the rest I haven’t really got to know them yet. But in time to come, and definitely through all the “gossips” and “paper-man” (in this words, paper-man comes into play as a human whom has ears and eyes everywhere in the office, but isn’t a big shot because he might be in the ranks within us. But he definitely knows every single incident, happenings, problems and events at the tip of his whorls or his fingers.), this office could get even more exciting to work at. It will only be exciting if you aren’t involved in any of those unfortunate events.

Don’t worry, no names will be blurted out here in case if another uproar arises. But at least I’ve injected a few Singlish words inside. =)

Booze?

Filed under: Just Updates, humour, interest, life, mood, whatever — egomarc @ 8:06 pm

Caught this ad yesterday after David and Zainal were at my place looking for sarcastic videos. Chancing upon this beer ad made laugh so loud that my neighbours can hear me. But it wasn’t all surprising because beer ads are always made to be funny, don’t you reckon so?

It seems to be a growing trend that beer ads are becoming more genuinely funny and humourous. Because, most of the beer ads that I watch are either too crude or corny, but nonetheless, it diverts the attention of the harmfulness of booze addiction. And given the alcoholic content of beer, it kinda defeats the purpose of creating and manufacturing beer that obviously tastes like water eventually. So why the humour?

Well, sarcastically speaking, maybe beer makes one fanatic and therefore doing silly yet unimaginable things when drunk. Alright I’m just joking. But with beer around, it also portrays the togetherness of friendship at parties and functions. Definitely, beer has been an all round party drink for anyone, anywhere, anytime. But I don’t understand why people need beer when they are down, or when they are watching a soccer match in England. Oh well.

Speaking about beer ads, I think the only serious, and I meant not funny at all, ad will be Tiger Beer’s ad. They haven’t been making any humourous ones so far. And it’s amazing how Singaporeans tell you they hate their country brewed beer when they prefer Heineken and Carlsberg so much. Even the stout’s ad is much better than Tiger Beer. Well, seriously, I don’t really fancy Tiger Beer. Let alone any other beer. Haha.

Anyway, in all, I think sometimes there isn’t any link between the humour and the beer itself. Maybe it’s just another commercial aiming for the award for best commercials. LOL. Enjoy the commercials. Especially after a day at school or work. =)

Too Fast, Too Furious, Too Expensive.

Filed under: Just Updates, hobbies, interest, life, mood, rant, whatever — egomarc @ 8:42 pm

Shit, I think I just caused a minor uproar about descriptions about the Singaporean gender. LOL. Well, I was prepared to be marred by readers already. I knew that was coming though. I couldn’t blame anyone for my badly typed English. Apparently because I’m a poly student and I’ve got a C5 for my English when I sat for the O Levels exams. Basically, my English ain’t profound, which makes it easier for any human being to understand. And definitely…. not the study type. LOL. But then again, I guess I’ve spoken too much. I don’t have that much brain cells to elaborate any further about the Xs and Ys of Singaporean people already. It’s just an example of someone that made me blurt out all. Perhaps I’ve friends who are the minority of the majority, which means they are different from the general. Whatever. Seriously, I only care about those people I know and are close to me. I don’t care what war is going on out there, as long as it doesn’t touch me or my close ones then I’m glad to say that I’m fine with my life.

Now back to the topic.

As excited as it sounds, every Singaporean is gearing up for the first night race in Formula One history. And of course, every Singaporean will be proud of it because our country will be the FIRST to host a night race for the FIRST time. A big hoo-ha? I fret it is. I don’t really bother much about this as I have watched it before at Sepang last year, just that the feeling of a night race on a street circuit would be even more challenging to watch.

But like every Singaporean, I would also wish to catch the race live. But like every other Singaporean, money is an issue. As I looked at the free-standing price, its already at massive $168 just to “stand around” and catch the race live. Then I think again – if you are near the track and in front of the barricade, won’t you get to see no shit? Normally, while catching motor sport, it will be the utmost best that you get a seat or standing position at a higher ground.

It makes sense when you stand right in front of the track and the car zooms past you like a speeding bullet and little did you realize that you have only caught the race with split-second viewership. Great? Guess not.

To me, I think that the pricing of the free-standing tickets are far too expensive. Come on, to pay to stand at LOW ground? Even Sepang’s tickets are far cheaper than what we are offering. And you get HIGHER ground than what you have here. Want higher ground? Get the seats then. And it will expectedly cost you at more than $240. I could really deduce that motor sport is actually one expensive sport and definitely one sport that can pit to fight against golf, which is another expensive one.

For pictures during last year’s Sepang Grand Prix, you can head down to my Facebook account and have a look. Hopefully the race queens in Singapore look much better than the Sepang ones. And I’m expecting merchandises to be at least $100 for a pair of Ferrari T-Shirt only. The Polo-Ts, Shades, Flags etc. are already at least $150. So if you already paid a lot to catch the race, I believe the spending should stop there.

I would be staying at home to watch this Singapore night street race. Reasons because I have watched a live race before and I love it, but for the love of my pocket, I would stay at home to beat the crowd at the ground and to beat the human jam while going home. Best of all, I get to go to my bed in a mere 5 seconds from the TV. Ain’t it better to watch at home? =)

Agonising, but do I have a choice but to suck my thumb and sit down on my couch? LOL.

Jumper

Filed under: Reviews of Movies, hobbies, interest — egomarc @ 10:24 pm

jumper2.jpg

You thought this show was all about jumping up and down? Well, if that’s the case, then Hayden Christensen is stupid to sign the deal. Went to watch this movie with darling today as part of our mini Valentine’s Day celebration.

Alright, the story goes like this – David Rice is a “Jumper”, a teleporter, who can go anywhere, anytime. He can see 20 sunsets in one day, whisk his girlfriend across the world in the blink of an eye and grab millions of dollars in minutes. However, his life takes a sharp turn when he finds himself pursued by a secret organisation sworn to kill Jumpers. Forming an uneasy alliance with another young Jumper, David enters a war that has been raging for thousands of years. Chased around the world, he discovers a stunning truth about his own past and his family. From the American Midwest to the streets of Tokyo and the ruins of Rome, David’s global odyssey is the first chapter in an epic adventure.

Generally in the movie, it’s a fast-paced movie, which will in turn, keep you much grounded to your seat (Well, you don’t wanna leave your seat for the moment. LOL.). And the special effects are stupendously cool, as it’s almost the same as watching X-men’s Night Crawler fighting against another one of its kind. Who wouldn’t want to have that kind of power? Haha. I did feel that Samuel L. Jackson’s acting didn’t disappoint me again, as his portrayal of that evil Paladin was excellent.

The most surprising of all is how Jamie Bell, who acted as another named Griffin, blended and fitted the role so well. And the way the movie filmed him is as if that he’s a lot better and faster than the powers of Hayden Christensen, until the ending. Do watch out for the fight between the 2 Jumpers. That is what I call “Night Crawleristic”!. Not that bad a movie though, but if there’s a 2nd one, then it better be better than I expected. Surprise me then. =)

A Tip for Girls.

Filed under: Just Updates, interest, life, mood, whatever — egomarc @ 11:43 am

As from my previous post, you girls must be thinking – why are we the materialistic ones, not you infamous guys? Let me make this post a tip to Singaporean girls out there to what kind of guys’ thinking we have here in this peaceful yet havoc island.

In MY point of view (get it right, its from MY brain, not any other guys’ brain), I don’t really bother much about the girl’s background, be it rich or poor, pampered or slogging. As long as – she’s faithful, she’s looks pretty alright, she’s gotta click well with myself and my friends, understanding  and selfless, and most of all, willing. My views here are because that I’m not a very demanding person, but I’m also a not so low-down person that I would prefer a beggar as my future wife or current girlfriend. I’m happy that I have a girl with me now, and she doesn’t really fulfill all the requirements, but then, I can accept the fact that no one’s perfect in this imperfect world. I’ve never been perfect, but neither have you all. If only all guys and girls are understanding huh.

In regards to the above, guys in Singapore are mostly vain. And sexually spurred on. Really. Some people have that charitable and sincere look, but its just a wolf in sheep skin. They are shy as well, because most Singaporean guys here are not very adventurous. Not really that materialistic as well, Singaporean guys always think that they are handsome, they look cool, people think that he’s some macho son of a gun, but in real, they are arrogant ones. But not all are that bad, as some are easy-going, talented, caring, and the list goes on and on. What we Singaporean guys lack in most view of the girls here, is that they lack the “understanding” personality. Why? Because, when their girl goes out with a guy friend, he will ask why? Who? Where? When? What? Subsequently, when his girl is out with her friends that she hasn’t been seeing them for quite a while and instead of being with him slacking at his home couch, he will we bark and say why she’s not spending quality time with him. With that kind of personality lacking, the word “trust” is being brought here because there’s a misunderstood lack of trust in between. And because of that, relationships here are always hanging by a thread most of the time. Well, being in control is alright, but hogging the joystick all the time will be doing a lot of damage to the console.

The situation might be vice versa, but then it’s always hopeful that both genders can understand each other and talk things out. Lack of communication doesn’t mean no communication. So talk things out, as I always believe that everyone deserves a second chance in life. =)

P.S. – I don’t know what the hell I’m blogging here. It’s all impromptu. =X.

Materialistic.

Who? I’m saying most females out there in Singapore these days. Well, I rung out of my head suddenly while I was on the way back home from the office in the bus, when my female colleague was sitting in front of my seat earlier in the evening. Then it reminded me on the first meeting I had with the company, where both temporary staffs myself and another guy, had to do a self-introductory to everyone in the meeting room. So, from back door ears, I heard that the other temp staff is a rich ass that doesn’t even need to work to get cash in his pocket. And to sum it up, he drives an Audi to work. Even my boss drives only a Lancer.

So when it was his turn to start the introductory first, he started introducing about where he’s from, blah blah blah. Then it started from that female colleague, asking things about how many children in the family, father working as what, mother working as what, got girlfriend or not etc. Then from that very first day, I knew that she was a materialistic person. Even her current boyfriend drives a WRX. Not bad though, I have one, but its a Hotwheel Car. Wanna ride? LOL. Well, obviously when it was my turn, no one was rather interested in what I have to say, not mentioning that female colleague definitely. For a guy, it’s rather depressing and sad to hear that no one wants to know you. But I’m definitely happy with my girl, but if she’s materialistic or not then I do not wish to comment. =)

That brings me to the point where I can say that Singaporean females are generally materialistic people, because life in Singapore isn’t easy without money, like I have mentioned umpteen times in many posts of mine. If you look into the money point of view, yes, being materialistic about that is not wrong. Unfortunately, if you are being materialistic in regards to love then I think you shouldn’t be. Because, behind that money wall lies a thing called “blind love”. What I mean by that is stating that your love for money has shadowed your true feelings of love, which means you ending up marrying someone you don’t love. Yes, you do have the money, but do you have the happiness and love that other realistic love birds out there benefit from? No. Unless that guy that you love is the one with the cash on his hand.

In overall, it’s actually quite important to get your priorities right, because love don’t come easy, but then happiness is what you get when love sets in. So its up to one to decide. Money can buy a house, not a home. Money can buy a obedience, but not loyalty. Money can buy a family, but not happiness. Most important of all – Money can buy lust, but not love. Think about it girls.

Hectic. Last Minute. Hate it.

Filed under: Just Updates, life, mood, rant, whatever — egomarc @ 7:43 pm

It was all to random and sudden.

What on Tuesday was that out of nowhere, my colleagues asked me if I would wish to join them for badminton. Well, I dunno what made myself say yes, but I did say yes just because I feel like playing sports and keeping fit. And I end up at Bukit Gombak Sports Complex the next thing I knew. Didn’t fair too badly but the aftermath I suffered, which is what I’m suffering now, is rather terrible I should say.  And I hate the last minute decision as well. Don’t know what made me said yes till now.

Then, just yesterday, food pry me away from home and dinner. Well, it was also last minute. But then I was rather happy, because dinner turn out to be a company anniversary dinner held by Orient Explorers. And yes, it’s at the Grand Copthorne Hotel. Not bad, a four course meal for a 5 Star hotel. Lucky draw prizes were tempting as well, with the first prize a 2 night stay at the Venetian Macau Hotel Suite at Hong Kong. This is really too crazy to be true. Participating in their games was really some challenge, but it was worth it because they are giving away free one night weekend stays at various hotels in Singapore including Swissotel, Marina Mandarin etc. Just like that. I only got 2 ang pows with 2 ten dollar Takashimaya vouchers.

But they made my day with a stunning door gift, which is a 3 in 1 item. A pen, a laser pointer, and last but not least, that you would have expected, is a 1GB thumbdrive. How the holy crap they made that item, I think you gotta ask them. But this looks so cool that anyone can use it for a covert mission. Like a gadget for James Bond. But overall, I wonder why I did a last minute decision. Just kinda disappointed with myself. But then again, I couldn’t blame myself for that because the information wasn’t delivered to me early. Oh well, at least I have a sumptuous meal and working out all worked out. LOL.

It seems that these few weeks have been rather hectic due to the scheduling of almost anything that came by. Like visiting, like Valentine’s day, like driving. It is one of those daily things that I just couldn’t run away from. But I would want to wake up my mind and realise that all I have been doing here is to improve myself for a better tomorrow. But hopefully the things I learn and improved along the way would not prove to be useless, or my money and time will just go down the drain. And yes, how I wished that it wouldn’t be last minute again. =)
