Let me tell you this. If you can’t take lameness and heartwarming kiddyness then I’m sorry, please don’t watch this.
This is really one hell of a show. Did you know that in the story by Dr. Seuss, it is known as “Horton Hears A Who”? Let the sypnosis tell you why. Here it is : This is a story of two worlds. One LARGE and one very very small. It all begins with a little speck of dust. When a cataclysmic event causes this speck of dust to become displaced, it is sent floating through the air. Horton the elephant is enjoying life in the Jungle of Nool when he notices the speck and hears what sounds like a tiny voice calling for help. Horton tries to show his neighbours… but no one else can hear it, and they don’t believe him. Horton is convinced that there’s a world living on that piece of dust, and it needs his help. We quickly learn that Horton is right. Living on the speck is a population of ‘Who’s’ who live in Whoville. When Horton connects with the Mayor, the Who’s soon learn that their entire world is vulnerable to destruction, and Horton is their only hope. Together, the Mayor and Horton need to work together to save Whoville.
Now do you get it about Who? Alright, on with the review.
Horton, played by all time comedian great Jim Carrey, did an excellent job on the voice and also in bringing out the life of the character in the show. His voice, as humourous as it is before, never fails to make me laugh, especially when those weird and funny noise comes blurting out of his mouth. And there’s his Almighty sidekick Steve Carrell, whom plays the Mayor of Whoville. Steve Carrell carried his role really well, like watching Evan Almighty. The other thing I loved about the movie is the narration. It’s just so poetic and rhythmic that it goes with the flow of the movie and plot.
The storyline is very simple but predictable. And it will definitely be easy on the kids. Like a kindergarten tale, this movie is so colourful that even dark seems rather bright. Feels like you are back in kindergarten seriously. If you are really in need to have a laugh and also for some lameness in life, do catch this show. It’s seriously cute as well, although in everyone’s knowledge that Dr. Seuss’s characters are rather odd and unusual. But nonetheless, it’s such a fun show to catch, I laughed at every sight of that elephant really. Nothing much memorable of any character though. But the scenes are pretty interesting and catchy. Haha.
In overall, just go catch this movie. If you think it’s just a normal cartoon, then go ahead on the weekdays. Won’t kill. It’s cheaper though. LOL.
