Glum and Gloomy.

Filed under: Just Updates, gambling, interest, life, money, mood, reflections, singapore, street, whatever — egomarc @ 7:38 pm

While in a queue of old uncles and aunties, I observantly see the wrinkled expression and the look of “hope”, as the queue belonged to the betting station at Yew Tee’s NTUC supermarket. Of course I was one of the hopeful ones, not because I betted but because I’m actually helping my mum bet. I couldn’t help but feel hopeful, not helpful. I wonder what if my mum struck after typing this. =)

In the queue, there are some that are squinting eyes, wearing reading glasses, specifically looking at their betting slips, ensuring that no careless marks are made or missing the top prize will be severe agony. Some were just hitting their betting slips, cursing at the thought of not buying that number they knew they should. Some, with that gloomy face, like a zombie less the greed for blood, queues up like a dead soul waiting to be reincarnated.

Ongoing pedestrians or people that are walking past the queue give weird stares to some old people, or shock instances, like me. Some people do not expect someone like my age to bet that much, when I handed over a $50 note to the counter, some punters are like “this kid is sure an addict”. In my heart, I am conscience clear. Haha. From the passerbys’ look, I knew that they have that “why-queue-for-when-you-know-you-won’t-win” stare on them and thought bubble above their puny brains. It’s not like I’m leaning on the side of habitual gambling, but I do believe that everyone in the queue has a dream and desire to win big. And for that, I respect that because they are hoping that this instance might change their lives. Not like those that walk past and not even try in their life for once. Cowards I guess.

Speaking about gambling, as all chinese would know, the colour red is like a lucky colour. Doesn’t really fit with all the glam but glum outfit of those uncles and aunties. Surprisingly today, in the queue, everyone, I admit, EVERYONE, were either donning red or any other bright colours. Except me, who’s in a black shirt. Felt left out a little in the queue of luck. Haha. I almost struck actually after checking the results. Bought a 0404 and it came out 0304 at the starters, if not, $250 will be in my bank. Haha.

And for red, I dyed my hair that colour today. RED. =). See me to believe it. HAHA!.

Birthday Wishes

Filed under: Just Updates, interest, life, mood, rant, singapore, whatever — egomarc @ 11:13 am

This list is not in order. Whoever is on top of this list doesn’t mean that I favour you first and it’s only on top or bottom that I can remember that you wished me or at least have the sincerity to do so. Till then, I thank all who is reading this, whom you know yourself, that you have wished me a happy birthday. For those whose name is not inside and you have found out, please let me know. I have short term memory these days and couldn’t remember much. Prolly because age is catching up on me. Haha.

Alright now, sometimes I wonder what a birthday really means to one. Does it kinda remind you that you are getting older? Or is it someday where you can relax and party? Apparently, if you party so much that you didn’t know that you are older by a year, then thats too bad for you to realise eventually. But so much so, I really hope that the calender has more than 12 months. I don’t like waiting for birthdays. Can you believe that next year reaches and I’m freaking 24? I can’t imagine that either. Now, without school, without a job, without money, I’m reaching to a point where most youngsters already have their jobs on hand and earning some cash for the future.

Like blogging can really get me anywhere.

So let’s see what other jobs I can do. Actor? Nah, don’t have that looks. Singer? Can’t sing for nuts. Drummer? I like to tap around with my fingers and feet. Just that I’ve never hit a drum before. Sales? I can’t convince people. Soccer player for Liverpool FC? I need money to go there, let alone play soccer. And yes, I know I can’t play for nuts.

Seems like not many jobs are there for my interest after all. I’m a total failure. I got that feeling that my girl will eventually leave me after finding me in such a sorry plight. So if anyone that is younger is reading this, please be hardworking now. Because Singapore is such a tough place to live in, you really need to work hard and get some cash for the future. Playing and having fun isn’t always the right option.

Anyone who is older is reading this, by any chance, give me money. LOL.

Cloverfield

Filed under: Just Updates, Reviews of Movies, hobbies, interest — egomarc @ 6:52 pm

Yes, after all the not-so-good reviews about this movie from friends and whoever related, now it’s my turn to judge this movie. As fascinated as any sci-fi movie fan, I caught this show out of curiosity and of course with the feel of the Blair Witch Project. Haha.

The Plot – Produced by JJ Abrams (of TV’s “Alias” and “Lost), this is about a monster attack in New York as told from the point of view of a small group of people. Some of the fantastic scenes include the destruction wreaked on New York City, with the 401 Broadway Building blowing up and the severed head of the Statue of Liberty falling onto the streets!

Ok, the plot doesn’t really explain much, but judging from the 2 words “Monster Attack”, you presume that it’s just another Godzilla movie. Indeed, I love Godzilla for… Godzilla, but then Cloverfield just kinda get you carried away by the camera effects. As everyone has mentioned, the film makes everyone dizzy. But since one knew about the video camera movie thing, then why watch it and disappoint yourself?

Basically, I feel that video camera shot was kinda, well, exciting. We all know that to have a good video is to have steady hands or so, but you can’t have steady hands when you are at a state of panick can you? And judging from the fact that the acting and monsters look so real, can’t you even help but know what’s gonna happen? Well, the monsters look rather new, but after watching the movie, scenes from the movie is just like a replica of the gameplay in Hellgate:London, except that this is New York that is in pandemic trouble.

Overall, I love the cinematograhy, just that the ending was rather sad though. Like another abrupt thing. I truly though that the movie was filmed with total unorthodoxy. And I like it. At least they don’t make it look like a B-listed one. =)

The Mussel Guys

This restaurant’s name says it all – if they don’t sell mussels that are one of a kind, or at least different cooking styles of mussels, then they shouldn’t have called themselves that in the first place. Went to try that today with darling, although she didn’t eat much, I actually ordered something that maybe 4 persons would have eaten. Oh well.

Sat down at the furthest from the doorway and with the same panoramic view of Sentosa, I flip through the menu, with their dishes so tempting and clear for one’s eyes to see. Apparently, I stumbled upon pastas as well, but it wouldn’t make much sense for me if I ordered chicken, beef or lamb in a mussel restaurant, so I ordered a bowl of 12 creamy mussels, a wild mushroom pasta and some ice water. I actually asked for the recommendations from the waiter. He initially recommended spicy mussels, which darling didn’t fancy, so he suggested the creamy ones instead. Ironically, the 2 mussel dishes that he recommended weren’t the chef’s recommendation or the all-time favourites of this restaurant.

Definitely after that recommendation, I was thinking twice of the quality of it. When the dish came, it turned out to be something not that I expected, because it kinda surpassed my expectations. The mussels were fresh, indeed, topped up with some sauce cooked with onions and lemon (if my taste buds ain’t wrong.). Happy as I could be, I gobbled down most of the mussels, of course, mixing together with my wild mushroom pasta. The wild mushroom pasta was fantastic. A cream based dish, the variety of mushrooms are aplenty, and definitely goes well with the mussels as well. The after taste of the pasta was there. But what I dislike about the pasta was the sauce as it was a little watery, not that creamy feel that one would eat on something like a carbonara.

To top up, I ordered an Oreo Cheesecake with fruit punch. The cheesecake was not too bad though, although there are better ones definitely. I missed out on the Tiramisu though. Haha. I liked the fruit punch. Kinda like a real mix of fruits.

In overall, the ambience is good, service was good. Price wise, I would definitely suggest a bigger group gathering to enter this place. Because the individual servings like pastas and steaks are rather expensive. Same goes for the mussels. The mussels come in either 12’s or 18’s. So do enjoy it when you head there with a group of friends. Perhaps that might be even cost saving. =)

Vol-Au-Vent

Filed under: Just Updates, food, interest, life, money, mood, rant, singapore, whatever — egomarc @ 1:29 am

Apart from the fact that I have been given a job offer from someone, I still set my sights on Dubai. I have never obviously been an opportunist because I’m someone skeptical about my pay and also my job scope, partially because the army has trained me to do so. Well, and it just happened that my friend was introducing me to a potential high paying job in Singapore, which she happens to know another friend of mine working there. LOL. Small small Singapore.

I guess you must been wondering what the heck does the title of this post mean. Well, in French, Vol-Au-Vent is also known as “windblown” in English and it describes lightness. Vol-Au-Vent is a small hollow case of puff pastry. A round opening is cut in the top and the pastry cut out for the opening is replaced as a lid after the case is filled. Usually the pastry is filled with various fillings like mushrooms, prawns etc. Apparently, I had a excellent Vol-Au-Vent at Liquid’s Cafe and the taste of it got me kinda hooked.

I’m usually picky about my food last time, perhaps it’s a norm to everyone because you would definitely want something tasty in your mouth right. But ever since my dad made me eat almost anything on the dinner table, I’ve grown to be used to putting anything nice into my mouth, be it snacks to seafood, drinks to desserts. I do still fuss about the dish that I would like to eat. Like I still don’t really fancy bittergourd, green chilli, GINGER, olives, wasabi etc.

At this point of time, I think I’ve grown fatter and because of my constant “any-o-how-eating” habit. That kinda explains why. But because we are very lucky in life to actually have food served right under your nose, I feel the need to finish up your food on the plate cleanly and also be grateful for having a meal in front of you. Nonetheless, it’s important because every grain of rice, or every piece of meat you waste, can actually save a life in the third world countries, where people crave for something to chew.

If only the world is fair.

“Hey Marcus, you free tomorrow? Want to have lunch at yew tee?”

This is the second time that my friend has asked me out for lunch. Well, it is rather impromptu because I was rather drowsy in my sleep, but I after checking my recent calls page, I knew I wasn’t dreaming at all. I was procrastinating a little, but lunch at YEW TEE will do no harm won’t it. Cheap and not so bad I guess. So I decided to have lunch. Was trying to drag another friend down because we all are primary school classmates but he’s rather unsure. Oh well. Another shocker again. Thought that I could relax after being busy.

Seriously, before I had my girl with me, I am so shy that my head stoops low whenever I see girls. Or if so, I might just have no eye contact with anyone of them. NOT AT ALL. Apparently because my looks are rather shitty in the first place. Come on. I have pimple scars everywhere on my face. They look like potholes on the roads of Pulau Ubin. I have only a double-eyelid on one of my eye (which makes one eye bigger and the other, obviously, tinier) and I have ugly teeth. So crooked, that it makes me look like a psycho killer when I grin. Wonder how my girl loved me. Haha. Don’t worry. I’m not questioning her love for me.

As time flies so swiftly, I came to understand the fact that I shouldn’t lie low all the time. Because, after all, girls are humans. I couldn’t possible present myself in such a way that when people look at me, they knew I had no background. So I had to stand up for myself in everything I do. All in the name of my family indeed. But I’m not using this presentation for myself to get girls, but in other words, to at least let people know that I’m not someone who cowardly hides behind someone’s back, waiting for him/her to speak up for me. Ugly is not the problem. It’s esteem.

Now and then, I have to deal with women at work, and I couldn’t use my old self to deal with that. They are one type of species that seems hard to deal with. So with a low faced human being handling the problem, nah, can’t do that. Bringing up my own esteem was quite a hard task to do. But I must really thank my girl, because, she’s a female after all, and because of her, I believe I gave myself more reasons to improve myself. For that, thank you darling. =)

I wanna rise today, and change this world.

Different Faces

Weird I feel. But then it’s just a mistaken identity. Not like I have the terror face of some JI leader that escaped from the Whitley Road Detention Center. Well, apparently I was out with Muq and Colin at the Cathay when they both entered concurrently into Adidas. Then I entered. While the both of them walked passed the salesmen, the salesmen just gave them a smile. Then when I was trying to catch up with the both of them, the salesmen stared at me, then went bowing a little and greeted me with a reasonably loud “Welcome!”.

Shocked as I may seem, I went a little speechless, but warmly thanked him for that “welcoming” greeting. Well, not that I like to talk about it, but because of the way I dressed that day, perhaps I may look like a Japanese tourist. Not with the floral batik shirt that make me look like a Chan Brother’s Travel tour guide, but with some patterned Nike shirt with black berms and white slippers. Well, at least I’m proud to say that I have some mixed genes. Haha.

Then at Denise’s Wine Shop, where David is working, his colleague actually thought that Zainal looked like French, when he’s obviously, Muslim. It’s funny when he’s described as a French, but I wouldn’t be surprised because he studied French in the past. I almost laughed my ass off when Zainal gave her a clue which was “A place where there’s a lot of sand.” And then she went -

“THAILAND.”

Oh my. How on Earth will that happen la. LOL.

So it was a last meet up with Muqsit today for prata as he is leaving in the early morning tomorrow for Brunei. 9 Months is long, but in a blink of an eye, he will be back in no time. Really. It’s just another NS thing. But going there with the kind of pay he’s getting, how I wished I was the one going as well, so that I can have enough money for myself and my family. =)

Back to the “exotic” looks, I would say that my bunch of friends just have that “maybe-not-so-Singaporean” face. Look at David. He’s from Taiwan and he looks like Jesus. Look at Zainal. He’s Aladdin when people says he look like French Fries. Look at Muqsit. He’s a Boyan and he looks like a modern Singaporean Malay. But given all of their good looks, it’s not surprising that girls will like them. Haha. Unlike me.

Well, I guess some people are born to have the good looks and stuff. But somehow, the book doesn’t have to be judged by it’s cover. And that’s only for all to see. What’s beneath it is somehow for you to discover. =). Oh well. Time to nap. Swimming tomorrow. Alone. LOL.

Insomniac

Filed under: Just Updates, interest, life, mood, whatever — egomarc @ 7:37 pm

As I woke up today, disgusted by the fact that Chelsea got a last minute draw at Anfield, I tried a little hard to open my eyes. The sun was glaring, the air was a little stale and warm. At least I know it’s my room, not anywhere else. In this few nights, sleeping has been a slight problem for myself, and I still wonder why it is so.

As all know, sleep is a matter of fact, an all important tonic to the body. Without sleep, the body will break down easily. The mind will head into a whirlpool and the body will eventually fail. And you will always hear your mum or dad nagging at you, saying why aren’t you sleeping yet and why are you still using the computer blah blah blah. But what they tell you, is actually something you might want to heed. Sometimes we are too used to using the computers to the wee hours of the night, but then again, sleep has gotta be the bigger priority.

As important as water, sleep is definitely the medicine to tiredness. Like recuperation, it restores the energy you need for a day or so, which explains why you have to sleep earlier and wake up earlier. Another fact – sleeping at 10pm everyday and waking up at 8am everyday is a human organs’ daily routine and norm. By sleeping later and waking up earlier or later, you are actually disrupting the course, or the running nature, of the human organs, which is you all know, a BAD thing to do.

So, stop reading. Stop using your computer. Just go to sleep. You might never know what will happen. LOL.

Pic of the Day: Sleep more and you will be fresh like a flower. =)

The Forbidden Kingdom

Filed under: Just Updates, Reviews of Movies, hobbies, humour, interest, life — egomarc @ 5:53 pm

Watched this movie yesterday with a special discount from the girl at the Cathay’s box office. I was suppose to get discount but my UOB debit mini was short of cash, so eventually she gave us the discount, on her own accord. Maybe we looked like students. Haha!.

The plot – An American teenager (Michael Angarano) obsessed with martial arts makes an exciting discovery in a pawnshop in Chinatown. It appears to be the legendary stick weapon of the Monkey King, the infamous Chinese sage and warrior. He is transported back into time to Ancient China where he meets a band of martial arts warriors and joins them on their journey to save an imprisoned Monkey King (Jet Li). Also starring Jackie Chan and Liu Yifei.

Well, apparently, like almost every movie trailer, is made so nice that it was so tempting to catch even the slightest glimpse of it. Maybe it wasn’t meant to be. And yes of course, luckily it was on a weekday that I caught the show, if not I would be cursing and swearing at myself. But it’s not all too bad about this movie, because it’s the Chinese martial art and picturegraphy that I would love to see, but the movie is TOTALLY too fairytale so to speak. I thought that this movie will start like from the old age era thing. Who would know that Michael Angarano will just teleport there instead?

After all, all of them had 2 roles to play. Just be observant and you will realise. LOL. But then, if you would want me to recommend something good about this movie, then it had to be the fighting scenes and definitely the pretty girl Liu Yifei. At least her English ain’t that bad. I feel that this movie is trying too hard to break into Hollywood. That’s why the English script came in. Jackie Chan did improved on his English. But definitely not Jet Li. Some parts between the 2 martial arts masters are rather humourous, but after all, like I’ve mentioned, this is too fairy tale a movie to begin with. It makes me feel a little B-listed.

Then again, in all, the movie has a real taste for martial arts, just that I would think that if this movie was made Chinese and Cantonese, rather than English in language, then I would think that the impression from everyone would definitely differ. =)

Seriously, I’m starting to dream of cars and bungalows after the job offer. Hopefully I can attain what I want when working for this job. But seriously, how am I suppose to work alone when I do not know anything? I feel like a dumbo in a Muslim country.

Then I started to ponder – Who is there to help me settle down? Who is there to arrange for me my accommodation and transport and whatsoever? Who is there to help me with everything that I’m not sure of? This job is seriously gonna be tough. But I’m taking this very positively, because, at the moment, I’m willing to do almost anything just for money, apart from selling my own arse at the streets of Geylang and Desker. LOL.

Apparently, I realise that in this world, the more money you have, the more greedy you are. Because the temptation to earn more money is definitely there. And earning through being the main man in constructing infrastructures. And in time, hopefully, if you are at Dubai and you have been to this huge and enormous something, I can tell you that I’m the one planning and co-ordinating everything in order for this to be a success.

Money doesn’t really come that easily, especially in Singapore. People here work their ass off, save as much just to only get paid peanuts and eventually, money will all go back to the government. Why? Food, Transport, Utilities, Bills, Household stuff etc. Eventually the poor will just get poorer while the rich will get richer. And somehow I still don’t understand why they are complaining about not having talented students here when they are actually accepting more foreign students to study in Singapore.

This is the fact – people like me and many others would wish to have a degree, in other words, an opportunity to study in the local universities here. But, no. Why? Because they think we are not good enough. But then again, if you don’t let us try, how would you know? And when there’s people like us who go overseas to study and turn out to be some great genius, the government will then regret, saying why didn’t we give this chap a chance in university.

One nation’s loss is another nation’s gain.

The other issue is about the escape of Mas Selamat. After reading the papers today, and from all the scenarios that were mapped out, I can only draw down to one conclusion – it’s just corruption. Yes, I do agree that there’s no point on pointing fingers here and there, and that we should learn from this lesson and not repeat in the future. But then again, if everyone tends to see anything as perfect, then I believe they have to see imperfection to attain perfection. Don’t get what I mean? That also means that nothing is perfect in this world and it never will. We, humans, are only there to assure and make good perfect, but there’s a loophole in everything. Anything actually.

Gotta rest now. Liverpool and Chelsea later. =)

Week in, Week Out.

Filed under: Dubai, Friends, Just Updates, family, interest, life, love, money, mood, rant, whatever — egomarc @ 1:23 am

Tired as I could be, I have been going out for the past few days, doing things that I should be finishing up on. Muqsit is leaving this Friday for a year at Brunei for the army. Hopefully he goes there and back as a piece. All the best to your trip Muq. Then Suban is leaving for Indonesia for a wedding this week. Safe trip as well bro.

And now it’s me. I have been given an opportunity from my uncle to work for him as a co-ordinator at Dubai. Yes, like many century posts ago, I mentioned Dubai and it didn’t work out. Now I have another job, and it’s for real. If I fly there, I won’t get to eat mum’s cooking, I won’t get to see my girl, I won’t get to hang out with friends, I won’t get to do many things that I wanted in life. But at least I know I’m earning some money and hopefully I can earn enough to support my family as well. Hopefully I can travel during work as well. Perhaps I will play soccer with the kids there. Haha.

Well, I think that I’m gonna take this opportunity to fly and work there. Perhaps I will be damn sad to actually fly over because I’m kinda leaving everyone else. So far only my immediate family members and close friends know about it. Not gonna be a big announcement though. So those who have read this, I assume you will keep it to yourself, which is impossible because this is PUBLIC. Haha. But don’t worry. I won’t be expecting anything from anyone. Really.

At least I have an opportunity out there within my grasp. Just when I thought that money is stucked right at my throat, suffocating the lungs out of me, then this lifeline, this hand, dived down and dragged me out of the darkening water, saving me from the depths of the ocean. Breathing a bit easier now, I’m hopeful to bring at least a friend over to help me with the job. I got a feeling that I couldn’t possibly handle such a big job on my own. But I’m determined to earn some big bucks over there. =)

I guess my week is gonna be another hectic week without any thinking. Hopefully I’m still in a piece after all the activities. =)

Parental Guidance.

Filed under: Just Updates, car, family, interest, kids, life, mood, singapore, whatever — egomarc @ 11:26 pm

LOL. Don’t worry. Not that I need my parents to watch a movie now. It’s just that I took the wheel for the first time. Driving my dad’s car, we manage to go to Sungei Kadut to get some vegetables. But before that, early in the morning, I followed my dad, mum and grandpa to a temple in Bedok and the cemetery at Lim Chu Kang.

Well, not a present sight at first, because it’s still quite weird when you are actually being surrounded by hundreds of the dead, watching you as they prey on the offerings that you “offered”. Apparently, I was there for Qing Ming, praying later in the festival because Cantonese people have more time to do so. Don’t ask me why but it’s just the case. What’s more, I had my camera and I was snapping everywhere. Luckily I only snapped at my ancestors and great-grandparents. Photos can be found on my Facebook account. Warning – Not for the Weak. Haha.

While driving, I had my dad beside me, scolding me and reprimanding me for every wrong action I did to his car. But then again, if I don’t heed his advice, I will not learn and will eventually bring disaster to the car. But seriously, I do sometimes hate the fact that I have someone beside me nagging at me all the time. Kinda irritating and in the mind, would just stop the car at the road side, get out of the car, shout back at the person and just say: “Why don’t YOU drive?” LOL. But I’m rather determined. I won’t want to give up valuable experience and training from a person who has driven a car for at least 35 years.

In terms of that, I do believe the type of attitude and behaviour of the child is definitely due to the upbringing from the parents. Definitely, if the parent is not around the child to teach him/her the right things from the wrong, then the child will be like another rebellious kid that will not contribute much to the society, let alone the family. But it’s also due to the fact that parents are busy with work to support the income of the family, that’s why sometimes the kids might just end up in the wrong person’s care.

And judging from the fact that I have seen many rebellious kids in my life, I realised that as they grew older, their thinking matures earlier than most, and it sometimes do make his friends a little childish. The rebellious ones will then start to think logically and wouldn’t want to do extra if they know that it’s pointless or so. Because of that, they actually develop in a smarter person. Then they will actually achieve something in the working world.

The children of the near future are definitely getting smarter because they are born with technology at their fingertips. Like the computer, the telephone, handphone etc. People as young as 11 might be even owning one handphone. And kids as young as 3 years old are already sitting at work desk using computers, playing games as if there’s no school tomorrow.

Hopefully I do not have kids that way. Or else I will be suffering from heart attacks everytime. Haha.

Apparently, I had a few occurrences that made me wake up from my deep slumber after a night of hectic clubbing.

The first thing was that I woke up at 2:30pm to find the whole house empty. As in, all my family members are out. This is rather weird and shocking because I normally wake up to find AT LEAST my mum at home. But then I was really quite wrong. Maybe I’m too used to waking up, finding someone at home. Oh well.

Then while heading out to meet David for dinner at Liquid’s Cafe, I was rather caught up with my IPhone, searching for songs and then someone SMS-ed and I had to reply. But while I was about to cross the road, a bus just came zooming past my face. I was really stunned as one step further, I might end up either being severed like some slaughtered farm animal or injured as if I had gone to war and stepped on a landmine.

While in the train bound to Sembawang, some teenage girl entered the train and stand in front of me, with her ear-piece stuck to her ear, speaking to some friend I guess. But with her phone face facing my direction, I couldn’t help but look at the glaring light and saw 2 words – Xue Li. LOL!. My friend actually, just that it might not be her. This world has too many Xueli-s I guess. But then, who knows, it might be her after all. Haha.

And while being rightfully obsessed with my own music, the bus driver suddenly jammed its brakes. Why? All because the taxi in front stopped to pick 3 Bangalas who flagged for it. Damn. He jammed the brakes so hard, my phone almost slipped off my hands. That’s a bit crappy really. The worse of all, that crappy taxi actually stopped after a zebra crossing. Dumb Fuck.

On the way back, I had this incident on the bus again. Like this young lady who walked to the door, searched for her wallet in her bag, walked back to her seat, then alighted. Then this old lady and middle age woman were still looking for her wallet and they did manage to find it. Frantically, this old woman actually asked to alight and she ran all the way back just in search for that lady. Fascinatingly speaking, we still do have some good samaritans in this country. =)

And yes, I do not know why but I do have a problem with public transport today. On the way back home in the train again, I, as obviously searching for songs on my IPhone again, was being struck on the hand by a coke bottle. I do not know who the heck did it, but it hit my hand. Empty bottle at least. If not I would turn around and whack that person really. Eventually that bottle no one could really care and it rolled around like an abandoned toilet roll in the busy toilet. LOL.

Had enough of bull crap for today. It’s just half a day. And I have to be up early tomorrow. Sheesh.

Smoking in 3 ways.

Filed under: Just Updates, death, family, interest, life, love, money, mood, rant, singapore, smoking, street, town, whatever — egomarc @ 4:14 pm

Alright, I’m not discussing in this post about how to smoke 3 ways. Well, I realise that smoking has 3 types. I mean, 3 meanings to the word itself.

Number 1 – the all and well known expensive habit. Smoking, is just like a roll of tobacco and full of health hazards compressed and combine into a deadly stick. One puff, and yea, you will feel like having it again. Maybe not having it, but the need and desire to relieve is there. Like I mentioned, it’s like a hobby. A stress relieving hobby. Not to mention the amount of smoke you gonna breathe out. And worse, you are paying to relieve stress, which is not necessary. So why smoke? I don’t get it.

Number 2 – Smoking in the army. Not popping a cigarette in the army camp. But then like another jargon or abbreviation you will say, it’s another term that means “bluff your way through” or “lie to victory”. It’s only used when you do not get your facts well memorized and needless to say, you gotta do something about it or the superiors will do something to you. LOL. But usually your superiors will trust you a little, but wishes to see that your things are done. So during that point of time where questions are being answered, you have to have Plan B or their Plan A will be on you.

Number 3 – Smoking. Or Fogging of mosquitoes or any other disease-spreading and germ-and-bacteria-manifesting-insects. This method of wiping out mosquitoes is correct, but seemingly those insecticides are being sprayed around in the air as if like watering your roses at your garden. Worse, when the smoke goes floating around, we humans are breathing it. Then we will just end up like the mosquitoes, suffocated and intoxicated.

Well, if you compared well enough, these 3 ways are just normal ways, but enough to kill the mind, body and soul of you. So please stay away from these stuffs. If you have a family, then the more you shouldn’t smoke. I mean the expensive hobby cum habit. LOL.

Anyway, I have uploaded pictures of the night fishing trip on Facebook. Any images just head to my profile and then my photo album. =)

The Signs

Filed under: Just Updates, fishing, global warming, hobbies, interest, life, mood, singapore, street, whatever — egomarc @ 11:55 pm

Not another global warming post you think. I just experience the wrath of thunderstorm last night when I was at East Coast, or Bedok jetty to be specific, for night fishing.

Didn’t went too well last night, because Zainal and I only manage to catch 2 fishes. And braving the cold hustling wind, we looked at the sky and we see clouds thick enough to be your maths textbook floating by. But lucky enough, they were just passing. Then the horizon was totally filled with lightning flashes with a tint of orange in the background, as if fire broke out after the strike from Zeus.

We manage to escape unscathed from all the cold wind blow.  And to reward our sufferings, I manage to fish out 53 fishes from 6:45am to 8am. Not a bad catch at all. It’s my first, and best, of catches at every trip that I go fishing at. But partially it’s due to the bait we used. Like a crossbreed of a millipede, centipede and earthworm, this insect calls the swamp roots its home. And the most freaky thing is – it’s face has the predator claws that wrap around it’s mouth. Genetically Mutated? I guess so. LOL. Will do more research and will post about that “thing”.

Then I realise that this time around, Singapore usually faces a rather hot and humid season. Definitely begging to differ after I saw that holy mother f***ing thick, dark cumulonimbus cloud above City Hall. Then when it started to rain, City Hall just disappeared from the horizon, with a curtain of grey covering it. Totally opaque. Not even the shadows of the CBD could be seen. And why is it raining so heavily every morning over there? Global Warming? I think I agree.

Perhaps the fact that we are all perspiring now and it’s pouring out there does make a little sense huh. Looks like the world is degenerating. =(
