I spoke to a few friends regarding the future thoughts of studying and earning money and whatever you can think of as a working adult in Singapore. Some told me they were still planning to study. Some told me they were just tired of working. Some. Lazy. You know yourself. Haha!. But well, this post is not suppose to be hitting back to anyone, but just a piece of advice to all. From my point of view that is.
In case you do not know, Singapore’s standard of living is scarily increasing at a very very fast rate. So scary that you might want to eat only bread and butter at home instead of enjoying the luxury of your neighbourhood chicken rice downstairs. And when this happens, all you have to do is? Well, it’s as simple as it gets but no money is easy to earn while you are on the job don’t you think so. Then again, thinking about that, I always look forward to working but just couldn’t commit to one job. Why? It’s either the company doesn’t want anymore workers like me or it’s the company’s way of working that irks me. And most companies that I have worked with just frustrates me. Maybe it’s because of the lack of communication between their staff and so. But one is not to blame for all the mishaps that has happen around you, not with you involved.
When I thought about working, I have always hoped that I leave a lasting impression in the company. Like maybe claim the most OT hours. LOL. But that doesn’t reflect on your working attitude. In that case, maybe the way you handle your job or task that was given to you is very much speculative. After all, if you don’t produce your best, how is one going to judge you if they don’t look at your performance?
In some thought, work can’t be compromised. Because you just might not know what is going to happen in your job, and if there’s a last minute or latest decision that you have to deal with, then you gotta be downright hardworking to get it over and done with. Opinionated laziness will not help in such a situation. Actually partially why I couldn’t be in a full time position is also because I need to upgrade myself in terms of education status. But then again, if I have no money to study, then what makes you think that I can study without money? And Singapore, thanks to their ever increasing standard of living, is putting the pressure on us because they are increasing school fees as well. One day, just one day, the government is gonna drive out every Singaporeans out of this country. So what if we are safe? I rather live like a normal person in another country than to be a living beggar all my life, waiting for money to drop from the sky.
Doesn’t sound all too fantastic eh. Imagine your future without money. Then you will realise that you need to start working young. Or else life will never be the same again. Really. And you still have a family to feed, your parents to give money to, make sacrifices for your kids, pay bills, pay this, pay that. And what do you need? Money. And how can we get money? Work.
No work = no money, no honey, nobody love me. This is life in Singapore. =)
