For the second match running, Arsenal drew 1 – 1 with Liverpool at the Emirates. Now for the final show down at Anfield. Would it be Arsenal or Liverpool to advance to the semi finals of the inaugural Champions League?
In my judgement, I think Liverpool will NOT go through. Because I couldn’t doubt Arsenal and their swift attacking football, but nonetheless, somehow you just couldn’t write off Liverpool from this match at Anfield itself because Torres just have the habit to nick in goals at home.
I don’t usually drag myself into blogging about soccer because my blog isn’t targetting mainly soccer players, but if you do understand the sport even if you don’t play, then maybe you might get what I mean sometimes here. Seemingly true, Singapore’s major soccer league, the S-League is like not really that favoured in our own country. Well, I do agree that most of the time, you see players on the pitch that doesn’t bear that Singapore look at all. But seriously, if we have our own League and we Singaporeans won’t do a part to support, then who will? So far, I believe the fans that are “trying” to fill up the stadium are mostly the players’ immediate family members or so.
And yes, we do have a skeptical mindset about our national squad. But like I mentioned, if we citizens don’t support our own country, then who will? But I think our nation is not really doing enough to fund our citizens to become home grown talents at every field of sport that we possess. Like soccer, it is sometimes very frustrating to find a good field to play on. I understand that this topic is centuries ago, but to mention even more, the government expects us to pay to book a field as well apart from the secondary school fields which are available for booking. Some of the fields might not generally be good to play on because the school has to provide maintenance, which in turn, relates to cost. And yes, the school will rather reserve the money for their students at other development fields instead of the FIELD.
In general, I would definitely root for our national squad in the upcoming World Cup, but I do hope that to dream of being any player at the EPL, then I suggest that Singapore do need to have facilities as good as any EPL squad in order to knick up a good league to attract our citizens to watch.
And I do not have any pictures today because I’m at my cousin’s place. LOL.
4 more days and I’m older. Crap. LOL.
