Pure Singaporean. Or Are You?

Seeing them perform just makes me want to laugh. Haha.

Well, back to the topic. Ever wonder if you are actually truly where you are born? I really believe that not all are pure bred Singaporean. If you are, then your family roots have always been in Singapore since. But that will be like centuries and maybe eons ago. But think again, if your ancestors do come from China or Taiwan or Indonesia or maybe the Middle East, doesn’t it make you a mixed blooded human in Singapore?

We are called Singaporeans because we are born in Singapore, not of our race that matters. My family has a quarter of something, in case no one knows. Like – running in my bloodline and also my cells now is inclusive of China, Malaysia, Peranakan, Taiwan. Haha. This is damn funny but yes, I just realised that I’m not totally Singaporean.

How do you know if you are not Singaporean (which many people will love to be NOT Singaporean)? Just ask your parents, grandparents or great-grandparents (If they are still around). Maybe that’s why Singaporeans don’t get much incentives here because maybe they have this genetic tracking system that keeps a record on where you are originally from. Then maybe those China and India nationals will come over and be Singaporeans because their blood may run all the way to the 17th Century, with Singapore as their maiden country. LOL.

So go check your roots. You might not know, maybe your ancestors might end up being Alaskans. Haha.
