LOL. Don’t worry. Not that I need my parents to watch a movie now. It’s just that I took the wheel for the first time. Driving my dad’s car, we manage to go to Sungei Kadut to get some vegetables. But before that, early in the morning, I followed my dad, mum and grandpa to a temple in Bedok and the cemetery at Lim Chu Kang.
Well, not a present sight at first, because it’s still quite weird when you are actually being surrounded by hundreds of the dead, watching you as they prey on the offerings that you “offered”. Apparently, I was there for Qing Ming, praying later in the festival because Cantonese people have more time to do so. Don’t ask me why but it’s just the case. What’s more, I had my camera and I was snapping everywhere. Luckily I only snapped at my ancestors and great-grandparents. Photos can be found on my Facebook account. Warning – Not for the Weak. Haha.
While driving, I had my dad beside me, scolding me and reprimanding me for every wrong action I did to his car. But then again, if I don’t heed his advice, I will not learn and will eventually bring disaster to the car. But seriously, I do sometimes hate the fact that I have someone beside me nagging at me all the time. Kinda irritating and in the mind, would just stop the car at the road side, get out of the car, shout back at the person and just say: “Why don’t YOU drive?” LOL. But I’m rather determined. I won’t want to give up valuable experience and training from a person who has driven a car for at least 35 years.
In terms of that, I do believe the type of attitude and behaviour of the child is definitely due to the upbringing from the parents. Definitely, if the parent is not around the child to teach him/her the right things from the wrong, then the child will be like another rebellious kid that will not contribute much to the society, let alone the family. But it’s also due to the fact that parents are busy with work to support the income of the family, that’s why sometimes the kids might just end up in the wrong person’s care.
And judging from the fact that I have seen many rebellious kids in my life, I realised that as they grew older, their thinking matures earlier than most, and it sometimes do make his friends a little childish. The rebellious ones will then start to think logically and wouldn’t want to do extra if they know that it’s pointless or so. Because of that, they actually develop in a smarter person. Then they will actually achieve something in the working world.
The children of the near future are definitely getting smarter because they are born with technology at their fingertips. Like the computer, the telephone, handphone etc. People as young as 11 might be even owning one handphone. And kids as young as 3 years old are already sitting at work desk using computers, playing games as if there’s no school tomorrow.
Hopefully I do not have kids that way. Or else I will be suffering from heart attacks everytime. Haha.
