Life at the moment.

Ok, haven’t been saying much about myself, falling into a deep coma of decisions and thoughts these days.

Surprisingly, after my 2nd day of work for my uncle, SFIC called me for a job interview for their current position. Perhaps I was last minute because of their desperation. And being a last minute decision means you are not that good and sort after, after all. A bit low in morale after the job, I couldn’t help but think that I’m that slough and would just stick to my current job.

And after taking a break by watching the Dark Knight today, I still couldn’t help but think of why such a talent would pass away with the least of all expectations. Take a look at this article. This made me think if there’s any link in his career that leads to his death. And although it’s just a rumour, I would like to remind readers that this is just a thought from my mind and it’s not with any disrespect to the late star.

Do you remember Jake Gyllenhaal? Heath Ledger used to act together alongside him in the all so gayish but award winning movie Brokeback Mountain. Then after this movie, he filmed alongside Maggie Gyllenhaal, sister to Jake, in the Dark Knight. Then he died.

Just a thought, did acting alongside both siblings of the Gyllenhaal family brought down bad luck? After trying to mix and mash the surname of Jake and Maggie, I realise that there’s 3 words that send chills down my spine. The words are “Gay, Lan and Hell”. It kinda make sense because if you say it fast it enough, it sounds like their surname, except the gay part. But word by word, it kinda phrases something like “Gay then hell”, which also shows that Heath Ledger acted in Brokeback Mountain that features a gay then next sending him to hell in the Dark Knight, after a role as the Joker taking a toll on his already depressing state of mind.

So is it a curse from the siblings that eventually led to his death? I don’t know, it’s just a random and eerie thought. Giving me goosebumps already. Hmmm.

Gotta go now, working tomorrow and I gotta be somewhere else early. Till then, Why so Serious? =)

The Dark Knight

After a drastic long wait for this movie, and bearing in mind that the famous Heath Ledger has passed away, this is my take on the movie.

The plot – A follow-up to “Batman Begins,” “The Dark Knight” reunites director Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale, who reprises the role of Batman/Bruce Wayne. Now, Batman raises the stakes in his war on crime. With the help of Lieutenant Jim Gordon and District Attorney Harvey Dent, Batman sets out to dismantle the remaining criminal organisations that plague the city streets. The partnership proves to be effective, but they soon find themselves prey to a reign of chaos unleashed by a rising criminal mastermind known to the terrified citizens of Gotham as the Joker.

And that plot above is so damn excellent that it completes the movie. Never in a movie have they discussed so much on power, justice and law so clear and concise to anyone that watches a movie. And every character or role has his/her own screen time and all of them so important in every aspect, it’s like watching many philosophers giving food for thoughts everytime. And it’s cool because even the Joker does have his stories.

I truly applaud the excellently precision acting role of the late Heath Ledger, something that you will only see in one off movies (which means once is too good to be great).  You can’t tell that it’s really him acting behind that grin. Behind that jester smile lies an appetite so wicked and psychotic for destruction. And he did it even better than the charismatic Joker that Jack Nicolson. Insanely wicked. And it’s perfomance really truly is top class acting. If there’s a posthumous Oscar, I would duly oblige and agree to the idea.

The movie also encompasses many thoughts about taking chances and making choices. So eerie that it give me goosebumps. The wailing sound of a siren everytime they played in some scenes just makes you expect something big, something huge. Oh ya, and who could have forgotten Harvey Dent a.k.a Two Face. Some people were already mentioning that Harvey Dent’s role was overshadowed by the Joker, but I think he did some emotional damage in the movie too, with his take on the role proving to be quite decisive as well. Applause for the make up crew on Harvey Dent’s Two Face. It’s a face that really portrays 2 sides of Harvey Dent. And the images are gruesome too. But I like it.

Overall, just sit back and enjoy the Dark Knight as it has a little something for everyone in the show. A dark movie with every meaning in life to consider. And like the Joker says after all, “Why So Serious?”. =)
