So bored….

Haha. I think it’s my umpteen time saying that. That’s what happens when you are not working, or should I say not at work.

Ok, had my interview today at NUS (surprising huh.) for a job opening. Doing mostly events management – which I have gone through and know a bit of the shitty lifestyle in there. But hey, it’s a new job, with a smaller department, and definitely more work to do. Just that it’s a university. If I handled the world before, what’s a university? Well, I don’t want to judge a book by it’s cover.

Well, all I hope is the job that does a high profile job to boost my resume that is chalked up with part time jobs. A full time job would do just good. Of course, I would like to have the money to get myself a DSLR as well as go on a budget, fun and photography trip around Australia.

See my wonderful plan below.

Day 1 – 4

Take one way budget flight to Perth. Find friends there like Adam and Mervyn and would seek their help in bringing me around the are. But of course, will not miss out on other places like travelling to Ningaloo Reef to meet Whale Sharks further up north. Fremantle has world-famous heritage buildings and a fascinating maritime and convict history, so might go there to take some horizon shots accompanied with bayside buildings. Maybe the Perth Zoo might be a place to go as well. Definitely better than the ones in Singapore I guess.

Would also like to go to Purnululu and Karijini National Park, which indulges you with their wonderful landscape – a perfect spot for photography. Rockingham might prove to be a good place to have water sports and snorkel as well.

Day 5 -7

Ok, up next would be the life up North, where I will be relishing the chance to see the Devils Marbles Conservation Reserve at the South of Tennants Creek,  Kakadu National Park and Arnhem Lands, and to Katherine to  take a look at their Gorges and Waterfalls. Nice. Will take a domestic flight there I guess.

Day 8 – 11

Now to Queensland on the North East. Also by domestic flight, my main aim to Australia is also to experience a once in a life time swim in the Great Barrier Reef, one of the 7 wonders of the world. Located at Cairns, I wish to take a day to go around the area. Not only that, Queensland offers other places like the Outback, where it is home to some of the most amazing wildlife and spectacular scenery, including the World Heritage listed Riversleigh Fossil Fields, Lawn Hill Gorge in Boodjamulla National Park, and the famous dinosaur footprints at Lark Quarry Conservation Park. I would prefer the dinosaurs. Haha.

I would want to witness the annual turtle nesting and hatching at Mon Repos, the largest mainland concentration of turtles in the South Pacific Ocean region. Located at Bundaberg, I would also like to visit their Bundaberg Factory, where they produce their root beer that you can purchase in Singapore. Pure root beer at its best. Haha!. If I got the time, maybe I will drop by Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast, but it really depends la.

Day 12 – 15

Sydney here I come. My main aim for Sydney is to visit the Opera House as well as climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge, if I ever dare to do so. But I will for the sake of scenery and photography. Watched American Chopper once when they visited Sydney and they manage to do so, and the view was so panoramic and spectacular. Breathtaking as well.

Would also relish the chance to go to Mungo National Park, where the famous Lake Mungo resides. The lake, dried up 14,000 years ago, is situated at the Outback of New South Wales. Mungo National Park is also Australia’s first World Heritage-listed national park.

Day 16 – 18

Now at Melbourne. Maybe can find friends here as well. Do not know if Ryan is here, but I can always ask before I go there. Well, At Melbourne, I would want to take a trip to Phillip Island, a 90-minute drive from Melbourne. Would wish to experience Australian wildlife in its natural habitat with penguins, seals, koalas and birds. Maybe I would take to the track on the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit or see it from the skies on a helicopter tour.

I would also like to visit the The Twelve Apostles, which are giant rock stacks that rise majestically from the Southern Ocean and are the central feature of the rugged Port Campbell National Park. Just a brief introduction, The Twelve Apostles are the remnants from constant erosion of the limestone cliffs of the mainland that began 10–20 million years ago. The stormy Southern Ocean and blasting winds gradually eroded the softer limestone, forming caves in the cliffs. The caves eventually became arches and when they collapsed rock stacks up to 45 metres high were left isolated from the shore.

Last but not least, I would like to take a hot air balloon ride over the Yarra Valley. It will be my first time and also greatest time to do so. Perhaps while waiting for the evenings to do so, I would visit their wineries and stuff to get some knowledge on how wine is done up. Don’t wanna drink though, afterwards become Barney.

Day 19 – 25

Ok, this would be a little longer because I’m finding the chance to stay at Aunt Alison’s place. But at the same time, I can also find a way to get hold of a ticket back to Singapore. In Adelaide, I would want to swim with dolphins legally at Glenelg, and also to enjoy the scenery there. Other hot spots for scenery shooting includes Eyre Peninsula, Fleurieu Peninsula, Limestone Coast, Baird Bay, Adelaide Hills as well as Kangaroo Islands. All for nature, and all for marine life.

Sheesh, I think I need an underwater camera. And I gotta spend some time with my aunt and cousin there as well. Woo hoo. Last but not least, enjoy some of their cuisines there also. All accommodation is on budget. Food maybe as well. But if there are exotic foods, then might think about it.

And the last day would be back to Singapore.

So who’s game on for Australia next year with me? =)

Pic of the Day: Wanna travel to the stars in the sky. =)
