Wish you were here. Your Dreams – Chapter 25

Is this what every love one is thinking about whenever their partners are not beside them? It seems inevitable huh. The power of love. So strong, so forceful. It also seems undeniable that you yearn so much for you partner to be by your side everyday, every hour, every minute, every second, every microsecond.
Well, I could truly say that all that was mentioned above is only if both parties have the similiar thinking of such. But if you are a true born Singaporean with the kiasu blood running inside, do you actually speak of love that much more than what your heart can tell? I generally believe that all Singaporeans are rather shy when it comes to love and stuff. Which also means, people don’t really speak of their relationships much to anyone except maybe (and the word maybe is not there for fun because it makes a lot of difference) their close ones like family members. Or maybe they tell friends of like 10 years or so.
So Singaporeans, speak up. That’s precisely why a Speaker’s Corner is built for. Although its very unpatronised, it serves a purpose for the freedom of speech, which everyone has the right but not the guts to do so in this democratic country. Is love really that hard to be mentioned about? Or was it the experience that both parties go through that doesn’t deserve mentioning? Or is it because that both of you have just started of in a relationship and perhaps the duration of the relationship is too short to mention? I think love is far more than what all of us can think of la.
To me, love is a balance between everything in life. Because its almost like a LIKE, just that it has more emotions and emphasis. It serves as an angel against HATE, yet it could be a devil in disguise. Why? Because you love someone and something for the wrong reasons. That’s why its kinda like a devil in disguise. Love is also on the side of Peace, Joy and Fun, whereas LIKE is just on the side of Uncertainty, Indecision and Norm. It really depends on how you look at Love, because the word speaks more than a picture could tell. So what if its a thousand words for the pic? I could tell you that Love speaks more than the amount of words that come out from your mouth in your whole entire life.
Definitely wished that you were here. Being beside each other, without even doing anything, is also contentment. Making the effort just to be with you, is also contentment. So being loved is contentment. Because when you have one to be loved, then count yourself lucky for there are many people who are single in this world. Yes, you got it right, bachelors and spinsters. Not Spinsters, where the job of a spinster is to spin things. Lol. So do be happy all the time because you will never know when your partner will be back to visit you. Just be patient, because love can wait. Its a very patient emotion.

Hari Raya Haji – And the Malay Community. And Your Dreams – Chapter 24

I did some research on behalf of my own curiousity. And of course, a tribute to my Muslim friends. Later I will explain more.
HISTORY
Hari Raya Haji, or the “pilgrimage festival” marks the end of a Muslim’s pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia. It is also known as the Festival of Sacrifice which commemorates Prophet Ibrahim’s test of obedience in sacrificing his son Ismail.
Background
Hari Raya Haji (Aidil Adha) falls on 10 Zulhijjah, the 10th day of 12th month of the Muslim calendar. The Muslim calendar, unlike the 365-day Gregorian calendar is 11 days shorter, with the months alternating between 29 and 30 days.
On this day, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, Muslims worldwide sacrifice sheep, cows or camels for the sake of religion and community. It is done in remembrance of the sacrifice undertaken by Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son, Ismail, where, at the last moment, a ram appeared in his place.
Hari Raya Haji also marks the end of the pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia. Muslims gather in Mecca to perform the pilgrimage, which is the fifth pillar of Islam.
Description
Male volunteers at mosques or Muslim institutions usually perform the sacrificial slaughtering after the Hari Raya Haji congregational prayers. This sacrificial slaughtering, also known as korban, is a voluntary act. Sheep, goats and cows are ritually slaughtered as sacrifice. Later the meat is then distributed to the community, neighbours, and relatives with special attention to the needy and poor, as a reminder to share one’s wealth with others. Muslim Singaporeans are increasingly doing korban with Muslim associations and mosques, local and abroad.
During the sacrifice, prayers are uttered and the sheep’s throat is slit with razor sharp knives. This act must be done with confidence and quickly, so as to minimise hurt and mishandling to the animal. This is in accordance with the Islamic law where halal does not literally mean that the food neither contains pork nor lard, but it has to be slaughtered according to proper Islamic rights.
So what makes you think that halal means got no pork or lard inside the food? Lol. Now its well known to people that the word halal is used when people done their slaughtering in accordance to proper Islamic rights. Don’t go around asking aunties in Bar Chaw Mee stalls whether they slaughter their char siew the right way or the Muslim society will come after you.
But then, come to think about Singapore, I would like to discuss something also known as the Malay community in Singapore. I got a lot of friends who are Malays. But because of the ever developing and vastly changing society, the community of Malays have follow suit as well. But are they moving in the right direction of their religious lives?
Most Malays are known to be a Muslim once they are born into the present world. But I got friends who are Malays but ain’t Muslims. Get it? Which means Singaporean Malays are Malays that might not be Muslims. Which means they can eat pork. Drink alcohol. Smoke. But sometimes looking at them do these stuff doesn’t mean that their background must be a bad one. But if they smoke, drink, eat pork, then I believe they have not even been Muslims from young. Maybe their family background is of a free thinking background, where the whole family doesn’t pray to Allah or attend any religious mosque every Friday.
But looking at my friend sinfully eating char siew once on purpose, I didn’t help but stared at why he would do such a thing. Then he told me – A Muslim might be a Malay, but a Malay might not be a Muslim. So I didn’t bother to stop him, because he was chewing the char siew happily. And he has the cheek to say its nice. Yes its nice, I don’t deny that.
I still have friends who are religious and do faithfully attend to their Friday prayers at the mosque. But if you think about Singapore’s growing MODERN society, how is the Malay community going to fit into it when their religious rules and regulations are always in the way? The fact that Muslims are very conservative people, it makes more sense to see males in their songkok and females in their tudong walking on the streets than to see males and females with tattoo, piercing and dyed hair like some ah beng, whike dressed in tubes, skinnies, exposing clothing, smoking as they walk, taking drugs as they hide, having sex at stairways when they are horny. I will not comment any further because the I do not know much of the rules of the Muslim religion. But from what I know, one rule eventually resulted in young malay couples doing parenting duties at the age of 16.
On one occasion, I saw a group of 3 Malay boys, entering the MRT, wearing skinnies, with hair dyed like the monkey god, gold and shiny. Playing with their PSP, they laughed loud, talking noisily like the MRT is owned by their grandfather. And judging from their looks, they are approximately of maybe a primary 6 age. And they are already like that. So is their upbringing the problem or are we to blame the society for allowing a punk rock fashion image to be legal to anyone in the country to follow?

Addicted. To Your Dreams – Chapter 23

Somehow, songs that I like are kinda glued to my eardrums. Because whenever I play particularly some songs, I just have to listen to it once a day. Its like a drug. High on it. Its also like loving someone. Staplegunned. Together forever and never apart.
Music has been a crucial part of my life since secondary school. I used to remember friends running Winamp in school, then playing cheesy music by Backstreet boys. LOL. But that wasn’t the only thing that was in hit. Suddenly I listen to Creed and Blink 182. And then the rock music feel just got into me. And I started liking more Rock / Alternative music than ever before. Anyway, you need not dress to look like a rocker, because your ears belong to you. You listen to what you like, not what you hear of people thinking about how you listen to rock when you look like a pop-tart.
Believe it or not, I actually listen to Korn as well. Hard to believe huh. I think their music is cool. Although that whole band is kinda living on cocaine, I think they still make good music out of their already drugged life. After all, I ain’t complaining. Because I won free Korn CDs from MTV Asia before. LOL. So what makes people listen to different types of music? Or should I say, what music do people listen to when they are in different moods?
For example, you had a bad day, so are you gonna listen to Daniel Powter’s Bad Day? Haha. I prolly won’t. Because it doesn’t stay in my head for long, and definitely didn’t had an impact to me. If I’m sad, I would listen to Coldplay’s Fix You. If I’m in a chirpy mood, then maybe a few songs like Yellowcard’s Light Up The Sky, Jack Johnson’s Upside Down, Steven Tyler and Santana’s Just Feel Better etc might do the trick. If I’m angry… hmm.. I would take Linkin Park’s From The Inside, Limp Bizkit’s The Propaganda, Korn’s Freak on the Leash etc to vent some frustrations. Well, I’m deeply scarred in my heart before. So whenever the wounds open, the music is the ailment for misery. And I could plug it into my ear for hours.
I truly believe that almost everyone goes out with their ears plugged with earphones, listening and grooving to their favourite beats. I think its healthy as well, as long as you keep the decibels at the right amount, or else you might need a hearing aid in years to come. Music is kinda like a backup to everything. Like in the club, without the music, how are you ever gonna dance? Same for making love. You play smooth music to get into the flow of love. You get it? Think dirty a little and you might just get there. Lol. And also sometimes when you are at some store, and its super damn quiet. Don’t you think it might help when you play some music, then if the person like the music, he/she might just walk in. Haha.
So its actually proven that music does affect, infect and creates effect on people in their life, physically and emotionally. Throughout, to me, I couldn’t live without my favourite tunes in my mp3 or my own head. Can you?

Fat or Fit? Your Dreams – Chapter 22
02 Dec 2007 1 Comment
in Chart of Dreams, interest, Just Updates, life, mood, rant, whatever
What made me wrote about fitness today partially was because I saw a fat man wearing a shirt with a word – FIT – in caps, on the front of the shirt. And obviously, his beer belly is bulging out like a pregnant woman giving birth anytime. Time for a maternity leave for him.
The other point to why I emphasize fitness here is also because if you are fit, you are generally healthier and also fit for many things like combat, work, etc. But recently, I have seen many people, who are fit and strong, dying like its time for them to go. Don’t they deserve a better life since they train so much. Hmmm.
When I was in BMT like 2 years ago, my platoon commander told us that he was running with one of the lieutenants in at BMT when the lieutenant just collapse and died of cardiac arrest right in front of his very eyes. Sad to say, my platoon commander was kinda traumatised at what happen to his good friend. Needless to say, we can’t tell whether one is gonna die or not, unless we are some shinigami from Deathnote. LOL. But since being fit is not as good as well, then what’s more for people who are obese?
People who are generally obese do not are kinda lazy because as time goes by, they get tired of what they are and just don’t bother about their fitness. But given the determination, they can possibly slim down. Or at least lose a few kilos. That might help their self-esteem after all. But then according to some newspaper article quite some time back, IF I’M NOT WRONG, studies have shown that fat people tend to have lesser heart attacks or something like that. Amazing, but it baffles me to why obese people won’t die of a heart attack more than people who are fit. Maybe there’s only one specific reason to this study, and that is because the fit people tend to use/overuse their heart, which results in a cardiac arrest. Its like pushing your body over the limit.
So do you have thoughts of becoming fat again? oh well, i really think that staying fit is a good option, but be lazy and you get back a tummy that foresees every ugly side of you. So what u gonna do? Choose your side. LOL. Alright, I won’t play any Star Wars side or Lord Of The Rings side. If you don’t want to die so early, just chose the path that I did. Balance your own fitness. Which means, like food, you have a daily balance dosage of fitness and fatness. So maybe you could go have a job instead of a run. Because jogging is like “lazy running”. Lol.
Sigh. I’ve been taking not really constant fitness training but I’m rather maintaining what I had before. Retention doesn’t guarantee Succession.
And the Charts. After a long wait.

Peeling. Your Dreams – Chapter 21

Snakes shed their skin. Humans? They peel. Tremendously ugly.
That’s what’s happening to be now. Peeling pieces by pieces as if you are gonna munch on orange next. Alright. Too much sun is REALLY not good for you. I practically stayed under the sun for at least 4 hours. And that can really kill some cells in you.
After reading a newspaper article on the Newpaper, I realised that too much of everything and too little of everything might just destroy your life with a snap of the finger. Curious? The article I read was about a woman who fainted and collapse. When she woke up, the next thing she know is that darkness befall on her eyesight. How you must have thought. Well…. Apparently she drank 3 times the amount of water that a normal human being should usually intake. That totals up the amount of water to 7 litres a day. Everyday. She does that. Thinking that drinking more water is actually good for her. Think again.
Its really true though. Too much vegetables doesn’t really help, because you won’t have the proteins you need. Too much meat ain’t good either. Meat is explainable as fats and stuff is rather unhealthy. Wait, what rather, its actually unhealthy la. Bah. Other than food, too much of sleep isn’t going to do you good either, neither does too little sleep help as well. You see, many things in life is just a balance, which is why we have a food pyramid. Or whatever pyramid for whatever elements you can think of. Yes, I must say that drinking water, eating vegetables, sleeping more is good for you. But if you manage to cultivate such actions where it becomes a habit, eventually you will be the one who suffers more. So, have a regular balanced diet, and sleep, and water intake. Remember – too much ain’t good. (Doing the index-finger-move-from-side-to-side action plus the additional shaking-of-head action. LOL.)
Yea. My roman blinds are fitted inside my room. Now it looks neat. Gonna take some photos of my room and post it here soon. Be ready to catch it. Lol. Do look out for the lightsaber that I bought at Tokyo. Its a precious item. Although there’s no real value in it. Haha. Its just battery operated. And batteries sold seperately. Haha. And its another uninspiring post from me. Here’s The Charts. =)

Missed. Your Dreams – Chapter 20

Today was my third day of work. Dragged through the whole with little work to do. Wonder why I’m hired so early. But then its a good thing because I’m earning money without the need to sweat. Of course, indeed, I’m happy at work.
As the rain drops crashes down on the pathway and windows of the bus, I stared blankly into the gloomy sky, hoping for a miracle to happen. Always needed a spark to start a fire rush. But then it just doesn’t get to me. Or anyone does it. If only the one up there sees our mind and hears our hopeful yet wishful thoughts. Well, I do miss the times at yuan ching sec, where I sat quietly at the ancient-looking stone benches, reflecting upon the actions I’ve committed in the past. The canal adds a very tranquilising backdrop for me to relax and calmly tinker.
Missed the times we spent together. Missed the times we used to go catch a movie, enjoying the warmth and cosiness of your cuddles. Now with each others’ busy lives, you are equipped with the tightest schedule so far in your life, and for myself, I gotta work my ass off for the sake of the future. Now its like a time bomb. A bomb strapped to the every artery in my body, waiting as time can only the right moment of detonation. What can I do? Sit there and let the bomb destroy myself? Or should I do something for the good of both? Or should I just wait for the end of the world where all hopes collapses? Or maybe, just maybe, there’s a glimpse of light at the end of the tunnel, reaching out constantly to assist?
Let’s hope that this will at least change for the better. Its hard to go on with life aimlessly. I need a direction. I really do.

Feast. And Your Dreams – Chapter 19

Went over yesterday to David’s place along with – Suban, Muqsit, Colin, Zainal, Gilbert, Tawan, Kiat, Xueli and GL for a so called birthday feast for Muq, which the birthday boy’s birthday is one the 14th, which ultimately, we are having another dinner. LOL.
A feast, which includes things like salmon, beef patties, salad, mussels, prawns etc. Fantastic stuff, and thanks to Suban, they turn out even more sumptuous for the whole evening. After that we played a bit of mahjong, then slacked around and chat before heading home. And I seriously need to pay Suban back the money I owe him. Its really bad to borrow money.
I’m gonna type about something also known as gambling. It might be fun to gamble throughout the night and stuff, but one must know one’s limit. Because the mentality of a gambler is like this – if he/she is winning, he will place a bigger bet to get a bigger win, if he only got lucky. But if that person is one an unlucky streak – so unlucky that wherever he goes, he sees his enemy – then he will have that kind of mentality to place a bet even if he knows he’s unlucky on that day. Then the mind will be thinking something like “because I’m losing, so I MUST place my bet so that I can WIN my money back.”
The word MUST is not always a compulsory action in gambling. If you MUST place a bet because you want to recoup your losses, then you MUST eat only rice to recoup your carbo losses. That doesn’t make sense right. By not placing your bet is already recouping your losses. Don’t you agree? And the word WIN is only used when you WIN. Not when you are not winning and claim that a bet that you place is gonna bring you a fortune. As if that token will give you a lifetime fund support.
Gambling can actually make lives fun. Gambling can be anytime, anywhere. The norms are like mahjong, blackjack, dai-dee, poker, 4D, TOTO, soccer betting etc. The unusual ones are like games that you don’t use tiles and cards to begin with. Like scrabble. You must be thinking – What? Scrabble? Actually anything can be gambled. Scrabble, for example, is very simple. You normally form words to get points, plus the amount to be doubled or tripled by the board rules. So in total, a point can be calculated by 10cents each, or whoever is happy about. Then calculate and see who loses. This can only be played by 2 persons. One good point is that you can improve on your english. Lol. That bad point is obvious to say. You are not helping yourself in curbing the problem.
Everyone must know that gambling is a habitual problem in many lives. Especially Singaporeans. And with the upcoming Integrated Resorts and casino, I can expect to see the loansharks spilling paint at your door, hanging pig and chickens everywhere as if its some animal festive season. Curb the problem, or be ready to face what will be the most life-destructive situation ever.
The Charts.

Mistral + Your Dreams – Chapter 18

I had this wonderful conversation with darling, just that her brain went off the mark and guessed things that shouldn’t be what it means of it. I asked her which country did Mistral came from. Or should I say, what language does Mistral actually speak of? But of course, she blurted out France. But then before that she guess India. Does Mistral ever sound Indian to anyone of you? Lol. Thats funny.
Then later I asked her what does Mistral really mean in French? Because we were talking about the fan brand named Mistral. So every word has to have a meaning or something. Unless its just a word or name that is created out of nowhere. But of course I knew the answer so I am not telling her anything that I have knowledge of. So as of her own silly and yet amusing character, she told me a bunch of things that doesn’t even relate to her. Which I think is funny. Lol. Couldn’t laugh any harder. So let me tell you what Mistral is.
Mistral is – if I’m not wrong, if yes, please correct me – wind in French. Which explains why the fan is named that way. But if you ever Google the word, or Wikipedia the word, or to the extend, Dictionary.com the word, it is also a name for a dry cold northerly wind that blows in squalls toward the Mediterranean coast of southern France during winter. Cool ain’t it.
Is wind really an important thing to us in the world? I believe that wind is always good when the weather is turning its back on us. Especially these days. When the weather is at its extreme. We also need wind. Like wind-surfing, or wind-gliding. It won’t be named that way if they do not need the wind do they. lol. But ultimately, the wind is good for its ways in life. But then the bad part is that you just hate winds when they become too strong. Then they start tidal waves that rock the peaceful coasts we live in, they generate strong wind speeds, which results in hurricanes and tornados. They are responsible for the cloud movement in the sky, which brings rain in our everyday lives. Sad that the wind is a pro and a con to all of us.
Well, Let me get back to the Charts. Been a while since I updated. Starting from where I left off – alphabet L.

Slept late last night because I came back late from Soccer. And I woke up late as well, like 11:45. And when I came online, Lianjin asked me if I would want to play Hellgate London. I was fine with anything just that the money was a constraining part. So we did an abrupt thing – went down straight away to Funan the IT Mall and then queue for the goodie bag at the official launch of the game itself.
Well, I’m willing to try this game, for its from the makers of Diablo. So I can’t afford to distrust the quality of the game. After watching the trailer, its seems more fun to even start playing. But then I just installed it, so I will try it after blogging.
So I went home and relax, feeling rather tired. Napped til dinner and just before I had to start on my first bite, a newspaper reporter came to my doorstep and wanna enquire more about the nuisance of the birds that I mentioned on my previous blog. And my mum complained a bit here and there, same for me. I think it might appear on The Newpaper either tomorrow or that day after. Watch out for Mdm Teo. Thats my mum. Lol.
Now its about Games that I want to talk about. Games have been a form of entertainment in our every lives, be it a game that you play during your orientation to any school, or a computer game, or games at the arcade in Jurong Point. But then are games healthy to us?
Sports, or Sporting games, are more of the healthy ones, apart from the injury disadvantage. Sports are something that at least makes your body run a little, which is quite healthy, because it helps to lose fats and stuff. Thats a generic idea in the mind mostly. Keeps you fit as well.
Board games I believe are quite healthy, unlike those foolproof games like Snakes and Ladders. Board games that require the mind are quite good because you really need to think before your next move. Like Risk. Your deploy your troops to stand ground against the enemy, knowing that you will be able to accumulate the amount and send a single wave back to them, as if a tsunami engulfing those back to the terrifying sea. Cluedo too. Lol.
Computer games are something that I would say has pros and cons. Pros? Like every other game, its works the mind. It helps to keep the mind awake and alive, prevent them from slumping to a coma. Lol. Cons? You sit in front of the computer the whole day, and the only things that are moving are your eyes, head, tongue and hands. There isn’t much blood circulation in your body, thats why its bad for one to sit and play games for long hours. Moreover, its encourages myopia to develop, especially when you play without the lights on. Kinda unhealthy.
Arcade games are of no different, unless you play games that require the activity of your body. Like shooting hoops in the arcade, you train your accuracy and your arm strength. Which makes it kinda like a good work out. The other game was the all-time Beng and Lian game – Dance Dance Revolution – or DDR for short. This game requires you to move the beat, with the steps that you have to follow of course. This is not a bad game after all because it makes one move a lot, especially if you push overdrive. Lol. The other game is the Para Para dance. That one requires the movement of your hands and if you wish to, your whole body. Makes it active. The only unhealthy thing about these games is that it is situated in the arcade. And how loud arcade games can get. Imagine going in there and coming out semi-deaf. Lol.
So which one would you choose? To be like Roger Federer and become more healthy and fit? Or a mind-boggler like some chess champion? Or maybe, just maybe, the next Justin Timberlake? You decide on whats healthy for yourself.
And Chapter 18 as well for those in need of a consult. Lol.

Stinking Taxis. And Your Dreams – Chapter 17

Damn. Of all days it has to happen, it must be today.
I was heading for a job interview at Sungei Kadut. The plus – its just 2 roads down my house and a 5 minute taxi ride. The negative – there isn’t a single taxi on the road. And when I head to the MRT station’s taxi stand, hoping for a queue of taxis which usually is the case. Appears that the human queue is more than the taxi queue. In fact, there wasn’t a taxi in sight. I started calling all the taxi agencies and they make me listen to fuck music that I don’t like. And what would so many people queue to take a taxi at around 9:45am to 10am?
It made me call up to arrange the interview half an hour later. And I happily flagged for a cab after so long just behind my place. And the kind uncle just took me there within a few minutes. And even wished me luck with the interview. But I must say taxis are just what the heck man. And I would wan to talk about taxis today because they just pissed me off.
In Singapore, taxis are quite a common thing in Singapore. But taxis hit the headlines for the wrong reason as well. Like inconsiderate drivers, drivers that drive off without knowing that the passenger alighted, drivers who will only fetch for a far distance for more money etc. There are too many type of drivers to describe. But I could categorise and tell what kind of driver they are after 5 minutes inside the ride.
But I don’t believe that Singapore, being so small and having a taxi population of more than 300,000 taxis, possess taxis that do not travel to normal HDB flats. And even if they do, they are either hired, on call, or not picking up anyone. What’s with that man. Take my case for example. Whenever I want to take a taxi, more buses and cars pass by me. When I change my mind and try for the bus, the taxis all appear. Is god playing with my life? I got a job interview at stake and this is what he does to me. Thanks.
But I think they should also improve with their calling system. Since they know that there are many people who wishes to take the cab, and with uncles and aunties that are a bit slow in the mind and could hog up the phone for hours, why not employ more people to take more calls? Or maybe have an express line so that people can straightaway get a cab. Or an SMS system whereby you sms your location and name and they will automatically dispatch a taxi that is nearest to your place to fetch you. Won’t that be a better idea? We all understand that employing more people might also result in the under-usage of staffs. But ultimately when someone starts to complain, do you think the reputation is at stake as well? Singaporeans are weird people. When you do good, or be good, or recognised for a good role model, people will praise you and worship you as if like you are Moses. Then when you are bad, you do something sinful and wrong, the people here will start gossiping about you, bad-mouthing you about all the shit you have done, condemning you the fates of the devil.
And because there are such people, the taxi companies in Singapore should have done even a better job. So far I have not met a dishonest driver, but then I know out there lies many people who are cunning and bad. Taxi drivers, stop trying to act nice when you aren’t. You piss people off. You piss ME off.
Actually I have been thinking about what drives these drivers to producing such an attitude to their job. Is it because its too boring and SMRT is taking up all their customers? Or is it they are just plain unlucky? To me, I think I could be a better driver than all those freaks out there. And what’s up with taxi drivers picking up people who only stay on the other side of the Earth. Don’t a guy who stays like 5 blocks away and is happy to take a taxi today and you won’t even allow him to do that? A little money earn at a time accumulates a fortune. This people are obviously shunning themselves from money. Idiots.
And Chapter 17.

Busy day. Your Dreams – Chapter 15

When I thought that I would be free, suddenly life became a hustle and bustle kinda thing again.
Today made a trip down to queenstown, where my godfather stays. Apparently, he’s old ancient computer is down with a serious error appearing almost everytime. Being the doctor, I had to solve the problem, so I tried things that I suppose to but to no avail. Then the only way to revive it is to reformat. After that, I tried to install the basic AVG files. And when all turns out fine and nice, everyone left the house except me. Thats a bit strange actually to leave a guest at home. But thats funny la.
But what happened is that after my godfather left the place for some appointment, and since down in my luck today, I manage to catch the blue screen myself. Lol. Then I deduced that its the hard disk corrupted. Sad case. So after that I left the place after Rebecca came back and followed by my godmother. Left for Bertrand’s place. To help him install photoshop CS3. Then ate dinner at his place. Slack, chatted, catch up with times, then left the place.
And I took a cab home. I was too lazy la. But I manage to get into a cab with a very nice driver who is silent but a diligent and hard-working person. He drove at the type of speed whereby you would want to reach your destination as quick as possible. And he calls me Sir. Wonder do I look old enough to be called Sir or is it his politeness and courtesy that droves him to say something like that. But nonetheless, I think that was good service and work attitude. If only Singapore could cultivate taxi drivers that are of this example. This guy is the nicest taxi driver I met so far.
I’m still stuck with sore throat and cough. Freaking irritating. Its like you want to cough but the throat will hurt. And its freaking painful. After Pi Pak Gao, Danzen Tablets and Robitussins sweets today, it doesn’t seem to really help though. I’m dying. Can someone help me!?!?!?!.
Today’s special. Maybe I wanna let the world know that I wanna talk about our Universe. Why? I think that our universe is quite cool with all the planets revolving around the Sun. And the planets are damn freaking huge la. Can we imagine that humans are living in Saturn or Jupiter? I think its like a few 100 times bigger than Earth. We can have like 100 USAs, 5000 Singapores, 1000000 Mauritius Islands etc. Lol. But then its the air, atmosphere and living conditions that are the boundaries to be labelled “livable”. Ultimately, one don’t want to wear an astronut suit and start walking around in slow-mo, as if like your life is coming to a halt.
In the future, I think that humans could actually live in other planets. Just that researches need to be done as fast as possible. Because the world now has already a hole in the ozone, and its getting bigger thanks to people in the factories and people like us. But then I won’t live until the day I see someone live in Mars or something. Not in you David. Lol.
But then in the future, you might see people living in other parts of our universe. Other planets like Jupiter and Saturn have yet to be discovered and studied. Maybe they did now but there’s no machine that travels as fast as a speeding bullet in space yet. You won’t wanna count a normal space shuttle. That is just too slow. Imagine that the space shuttle needs to continue its trip and it takes a 5 minute break at Jupiter just to fill up its petrol tank from a Shell station. Lol.
Come to think of the universe, does anyone ever thought that there would be another universe? Where other species of aliens or outer beings lived? I’m quite curious to actually find out if outer beings actually live out there. Imagine a guy’s head with a dog’s body and cat legs and monkey hands? What the fuck man. Totally out of the picture. Its just so weird.
I realised that I didnt put the title for my 2 previous chart of dreams posts. crap. Apologies people.
Gambling, winning – beware of losses
Games, played – hope of wealth
Garbage - very great success
Garden, in bloom – satisfaction
Genitals - happy sex life
Ghost, speaking – advice to listen to
Gift, receiving – beware, danger

Gotta get some rest now. Painful throat. Don’t feel like going out but still have to.
Feeling better.. For now.

Decided to carry my tired and restlessness body to the chair, in front of my computer to blog.
Sounds like I’m dying? Actually I’m just sick and half as listless as before.
Want to talk about something called technology. As you can see, our society depends a lot on technology. ATMs, Computers, Machines, Vehicles, Mobile Phones, Laptops etc. There are thousands of things that I could list in here. There are so many things that we depend on but ever wonder what happens when we didn’t have those things right beside us? If there weren’t any ATMs, won’t you be spending your time queueing up in banks just to get money? If there weren’t and computers, would I be blogging and you reading now?
Lets bring ourselves back to the olden days where maybe King Kong use to live in. Remember watches that we need to turn and turn just to make sure it still tells time? Well, apparently what we have now are digital watches running on batteries. Then do you still remember television sets that you have to press the channels at the side and tune to the channels for a long while before stopping at your favourite shows? Now we have cable. And something that we could press a.k.a Remote Controls.
Technology has assisted so much in our lives that it creates convenience in our every move. Take a look at technology freaks Japan. They made robots and many gadgets to improve the lives of many people, including the old and the disabled. It really benefits almost everyone in this world. But then again, do the old and disabled have that amount of cash to afford such a “hi-tech” gadget to assist them? Yes, like a said, it will help a lot in their lives, and its worth it to buy, but then do they even have the cash when they are disabled? Being disabled doesn’t mean you have a lot of money. Because people don’t want to hire such people for jobs. But then again, like freed prisoners, we should always give people a chance and not doubt them because of their record. I truly believe that people, if given a chance, could turn over a new leaf. But after all, since technology is there to assist us in the future, I think that as long as its eco-friendly, its cheap, and its worth the catch, then it will totally be considered a good product. For the young and old definitely.
Alright. Dad scolds. Tiredness draws near. Gotta hibernate and get some squirrel rest. Before that, the Charts. In case I didn’t update.

Education

Was that very boring when I started typing that E word above? Actually I thought so, but then its an issue in Singapore because of the demand of a self-upgrade in life.
Why I wish to speak about education is because it is a vital skill to possess. Education not only “educates” one (duh.), but it also improves on one’s knowledge on theoratical and practical stuffs. Theoratical I mean maths, physics, chemistry, biology etc. Practical I mean technical abilities, home economics or subjects that could help you in your everyday lives.
Is it that important to study? Imagine if one doesn’t read the ABC book when you are almost heading to nursery. The only thing you will learn is by watching your useless tv and learning what your parents are talking about. So what if you could speak like some poet when you couldn’t even write a single word? Its like trying to run without legs. Its like trying to throw a basketball without the use of your arms.
In Singapore, studies are a must because of your future. You need that piece of paper just to get a job. Without that paper, people will have that sick impression of you, because they think that you come from no background, with parents that do not care about you. They have that bad impression that you might even embezzle their company’s money. So actually having that paper with you also kinda gave you a stepping stone in life to start. But then again, even if you have that paper, it doesn’t guarantee you a job in life. Am I right to say that? Sometimes its hard to believe that you spend so much time and money studying something that you like and eventually you become someone doing something that you do not even like to do.
Know nothing of there, eventually going there.
Thats what I said to Ryan when Heng Foo was posted to 165 SQN as his reservist unit. The army, knowing the fact that he should end up at Chong Pang camp, posted him to another weapon system’s unit. Like he knows the function of it. Education might be a driving force in your life, but it might not guarantee you the job that you wish for. Even if you got the job, you might forget your textbook basics. And basics are more important than you think it is.
To the charts. Chapter 13. The dreaded number. But my lucky number. lol.

Fainting - coming illness

Yeap. That will do. And my room is done!. Just that it needs 4 more big glass shelves and 2 more small ones. That will make it complete. Next time will post up pics of my room.
The game. And Your Dreams – Chapter 12

Nothing much. Just that I went out today with darling to catch Superbad at Marina Square. Then head to my grandma’s house for dinner.
Gonna talk about a common language also known as Soccer. This sport has been going on for ages. But to me, its like a language spoken by every country all over the. Almost everyone knows about soccer, plays soccer, talks about soccer. And when we talk about soccer, we will always mention the big English Premier League clubs like Liverpool, Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, Newcastle etc. Then followed by the giants of Europe like Barcelona, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Real Madrid etc. Clubs that host so many big names in the name of soccer. And legends the players might be.
Look at Thierry Henry. Once a flop at Juventus, now the all-time highest scoring French in the history of French football history. All thanks to the man at Arsenal, Arsene Wenger. Next, Ryan Giggs. No matter how much injuries he had, he still gets back into the game with a bang. Consistent performances and perfect delivery of the ball make him one crafty Welsh on the loose. What about Gerrard? Even though he looks off-form this season with a miss in front of goal at the England vs Russia match, he still has a part to play at Liverpool. Why? Because he single-handedly brought the Champions League trophy to Liverpool. His driven mind and lung-less persistence on the field make him a complete midfielder.
But even if i say so much, will it change the fact the people in this world are still banking on this clubs and players to triumph over their opponents? Please. The ball is round. And it will NEVER transform into a some rugby ball where you can start handling them. Sometimes I wonder if the matches at the EPL were fixed. Sometimes I wonder what makes people want to gamble. Doesn’t it feel painful to see your cash that could be used on something more meaningful being given away to something that grants you a 50% chance of winning only?
I truly believe that in order to enjoy the love of soccer is not betting but to practise the sport and enjoy every minute of kicking the ball. Be it a juggle, or dribble, your feet does come in contact with the ball right? So if you are frustrated about some issues and you wish to vent your anger, just take it onto the pitch and start playing sporting soccer. And with the patience and calmness, you will improve as you play every time, cultivating new skills and learning new tricks of your own.
Because I kinda discourage betting. If its for fun among a small group of friends, then its still ok. But then if you go to bookies or Singapore Pools then its different. The human mind has this mentality that if they win, they will use the “base cash” to bet on some other matches, and if they win again, they will do the same until the profit as much as they could. But if they lose, they would want to bet more because no one wishes to lose their money, therefore that person will bet more and try to win back their money that they lost. But even if you have so much cash with you, just without that slight lady luck beside you, eventually you can kiss your “Yusof Ishaks” goodbye. And the feeling stinks.
So to all gambling addicts, Stop yourselves from betting money. Once in a while is still ok, but not everyday. You could use your money for something more meaningful. Like bringing your girlfriend for a good meal at some restaurant. Or celebrate with your friends at maybe a party at someone’s house. Or whatever you could think of.
Now to the charts – Alphabet E.
Eagle - prosperity
Earth, tilling – great profits ahead
Earthquake - serious danger
Eating - need for fulfilment, comfort
Eclipse - dark shadow ahead
Eggs, whole – abundance
Eggs, broken – quarrel, misfortune
Electricity - surge of new energy
Elephant - certain victory
Embarrassment - satisfaction
Embrace - impulsive behaviour
Employment, loss of – opportunities
Empress - fatal pride
End of the world – a new beginning
Enemies - distrust
Energy, lot of – prudent to rethink
Engine, moving fast – obstacles
Enjoyment - minor setbacks
Oh, I just realised that E ends here as well. Thats quite fast though.

Played some considerable amount of soccer yesterday night from 10pm to 12am at Fico Sports Hub. Tired but fun. Not because I scored some goals but then its the people that you spent time playing with. Its like back to the old days.
After the game, we were heading out to flag for a cab. And we manage to see something that we never seen before but on Tv. And that would be the DMC car that was used in the movie for Back to the Future. What a rare sight in Singapore. Must be imported. And that guy/girl that imported it in must be freaking rich.
Today I wanna mention about old people. Just now after a sumptuous dinner prepared by Suban and with the help of David, the rest were heading to AMK hub whereas Zainal and I gotta catch the last train. So we walked to a traffic light and waited for the green man to flash. But while we were waiting, this auntie (I called her auntie because she had the looks and dress-sense of a typical housewife.) crossed the road when the red man is still lit brightly. You mean an auntie can’t even see something so bright? Do not complain that the government did not improve on the visibility of the “safety man”.
At this point of time I wonder – What triggered the auntie to cross the road? Is it because she has to rush back home to bring food to her famished family members? Or is it because of impatience? To me the second one is the better answer. You see, no matter how famished your family members are, if you get knocked down by a oncoming vehicle, will they even get to eat the food you buy for them? The government don’t place traffic lights there as if its like decorations for Christmas along Orchard Road. They are there for a purpose. And if one does not even abide to simple rules of safety, you are putting yourself at grave danger. Not only that, you are also troubling the driver. Because by right he has the right of way. But because you decided to risk it. Wake up la eediot.
But what made the auntie impatient is also because the of herself aging. You see, people who age sometimes still think that they could do things and move around as quick as when they were young. But as one ages, the thinking, the movement, the amount of things one would want to accomplish gets gradually slower. And because of one’s stubborn thinking that he/she could still move as fast as when they were young then he/she might be just wrong. Because as you realise that you are slower than before, you will tend to lose patience on yourself and act or think impulsively. Which leads to why the auntie can’t wait. And decided to cross the road on a red man situation.
Sometimes these old people would always think that because they are old and aging means they have the right of way. And if one ever bullies them or scolds them, they would put all the blame on that person who dealt the scolding. Then eventually they get charged for verbally abusing the elderly. Then these old people are getting more inconsiderate in Singapore. They persistently squeeze through the MRT door as if the door will close a second after it opens. And because of their selfish actions, they don’t even care who’s alighting from the trains. These old people, to mention particularly, are Aunties and old women. Especially Aunties. They want to find a place to sit. They scared they missed the train. They are scared of this, they are scared of that. In Singlish terms – Kiasu (the type of “afraid to lose” attitude). Always afraid of losing to the rushing crowd.
Sometimes I think these bunch of people must be thought a lesson of courtesy and consideration. We must put them into the train and make them alight with like 7 to 8 plump and yet Kiasu people inconsiderately and savagely forcing themselves through the door as if like Prisoners-of-War freed from their prison cell. Then they will know the feeling of pushing and sleaze-fest.
Fucking aunties. Like their parents never even taught them a basic amount of human courtesy. Freaking cunts of our nation. Because of this people, I think our country’s beauty would be let down, no matter how clean Singapore could be.
Enough of the ranting. Back to the charts. Now where did I stopped. Right. Got it. Lets begin.
Dollar - good luck ahead
Dove - happy event
Drink clear water – academic success
Drought - hard times followed by luck
Drowning - coming danger
Drugged - jealousy, danger
Drunkenness - sure success
Duck - anonymous letter
Duel - discord without results
Dumb - keep it secret
Dungeon - fatal results, rethink
Dungheap – dishonour
Dwarf, being one – release, success
Dying – recovery, health
And hurray, i finished alphabet D. Not because I looked like forcing myself to type this shit in the middle of the night where the light is off and I couldn’t see anything. But because I typed this for viewership sake. And for the love of my dreams. Lol.
