Bodyguards and Assassins

The Plot – “Bodyguards And Assassins” concerns efforts by a group of martial artists to protect Dr. Sun Yat-sen who is popularly referred as the Father of Modern China, from an assassination attempt while visiting Hong Kong to raise funds at the beginning of the 20th century.

Deemed fit to be screened, this movie shows what people with patriotic hearts can do. In fact, the star studded cast of this movie is so wide and huge that sometimes I wonder how do you fit so many stars in to one movie. Well, this movie worked well and it surpassed my expectations for a movie that proves to be sad but true.

Well, direction was fantastic, with some action packed fight scenes courtesy of your kungfu master Donnie Yen together with a few other elites like Leon Lai, who single handedly eliminates like probably a hundred men. Apparently the whole show doesn’t really focus on Donnie Yen, whom some other viewers might feel that this movie revolves around him. But I would say that for this movie, everyone and every equal actor and actress have their fair share of air time and role time.

Best of all, their acting still never fails to impress me somehow.

In all, it touched my heart to see people fight and put their lives in the line to protect someone that they do not even know, and that by protecting Sun Yat Sen, they can change the course of the future for China. Indeed, a fantastic movie that fulfills my attempt to catch a movie in a long time. =)

Ratings – 5 out of 5 stars

P.S – Mandarin movie posters are so hard to find. Apologies. =(

Adelaide Day 7 – Wildlife, Rocking Horses, Vineyards and Hahndorf

Day 7 was a thrill for me because I get to go to their Wildlife park. I mean – it’s like a zoo just that it belongs to all of Australia’s animals itself. Things like the Tasmanian Devil, the Wombat, the Emu, the Koala etc. I have not seen these animals in my life before and I got the chance to see it. How cool is that?

Anyways, we went to 4 places to make it exact. First up was Mount Lofty Summit, the highest point of Adelaide. Of course, needless to say, that it is 10 times more beautiful than being up at Mount Faber. Literally you can see the whole Adelaide from that summit itself. It is a real beauty to behold.

Then we headed to Cleland Wildlife park, where kangaroos, ducks, geese, emus, pelicans etc all roam freely around the park. Insane but true. But it was a good experience nonetheless. Things like the Koala, Wombat, Tasmanian Devil etc are all caged up for sure. Too wild and rabid I believe. Not the koala because it’s too…. tamed. Haha.

Then we head off to Hahndorf, the oldest German Settlement in Australia. Hahndorf by the way is “village” in German. It’s a relatively quiet and yet peaceful village that we really enjoy. Their German Sausages at the Hahndorf Inn were fantastic by the way. And their desserts. OH SO LOVELY. The taste of the Blueberry Crumble Cheesecake will always be in my tastebuds. Because it’s SO DAMN NICE that I think Singapore’s desserts couldn’t be compared. It is the BEST cheesecake + crumblepie together. Oh my. Feels like falling in love again. Too bad it’s not human.

The village itself is an abundance of blooming flowers and beautiful “botak” trees. Even their trees look beautiful. Damn..

Then we headed off to the Toy Factory, where they built the LARGEST ROCKING HORSE IN THE WORLD. Seriously it is really huge. I mean, which human in the world can rock that shit. But the wildlife park they have is interesting. Sheeps, Alpacas, Ducks, Chickens, Peacocks etc flock to you for food. And it’s not like I’m carrying anything. But it’s really fun to see these animals getting close up to you even when you know they might attack you anytime, yet they mean no harm.

Then it was Barossa Valley. There wasn’t much things I could do there besides taking pictures because I don’t drink. We were at Saltram Vineyard and yes, Louis drank more than what we deserved. I think he was the only one of out the whole group of 19 who had the most drinks. Haha. Nonetheless, it was a good place to look around. And it is also a good place for a wedding from how I see it.

Now, pictures then. =D

Adelaide Day 4 – 5 – 6 : Grocery and Sunset Shopping

Day 4 and 5 was spent mostly on grocery shopping at Central Market and Chinatown. Gift shopping, souvenir shopping, all done within that day itself. Though there were more eventually. Haha. The market itself is rather interesting because you get to see different things that you will hardly see in a normal wet market that they have here. And mind you, their market aren’t slippery and wet like ours here.

I will let the pictures do the talking. And yes, more sunsets too. =D

Oysters selling fresh in the market for consumption on the spot. =D

What did I told you. =P

Then Day 6 came.

So we had Nandos, some Portugese Eatery at Glenelg itself. I must say that their chicken dishes were really well done. Love the spiciness levels too. =) Then we booked our tour to Cleland Wildlife Park as well as a tour to Hahndorf too. More shopping was done at Rundle as well, this time, the Northen Terraces, where the museum, the university and the casino are situated at. But it was yet again, the sunset that took my breath away time after time after time.

More pictures to enjoy. =D

Belief

Belief makes things real
Makes things feel, feel alright
Belief makes things true
things like you, you and I

(chorus)
Tonight you rest in my mind
When you came to my defense
With a knife in the shape of your mouth
In the form of your body
With the wrath of a God
Oh you stood by me

Belief builds from scratch
Doesn’t have to relax
It doesn’t need space
Long live the Queen
And I’ll be the King
In the colour of grace

(chorus)
Oh tonight you rest in my mind
When you came to my defense
With a knife in the shape of your mouth
In the form of your body
With the wrath of a God
Oh you stood by me, Belief

I’m gonna yell it from the roof tops
I’ll wear a sign on my chest
That’s the least I can do, its the least I can do

(Chorus)

And I’ll stand by mine, belief
oh I’ll stand by mine, belief

Bandwidth over here is limited will only type into words instead. Will upload photos when I get home.

Anyways, I believe most people have known a little about my slight “plight” here when I touched down in Aussie. Here’s what happened.

Day 1 – I took off from Singapore at around 2125H and took a long plane trip to Brisbane. So on the plane itself, my entertainment tv set was down, and the passenger beside me, a Swedish old man, had his working, so he kindly called for help to get my tv done up, so they restarted the system, and then it was his turn to be spoiled and mine – working – obviously.

Then the restarting continued and it was back to square one again. So I was quite pissed off because I was watching “The Proposal” halfway through. But when I was about to reach Brisbane International, things started working all fine. By then I had to fast forward to all the action scenes in Transformers : Revenge of the Fallen and finish it all in like half an hour perhaps? Period. Although I know I won’t have it.

So after alighting, everything went smoothly through the customs (chop passport that part), then things went downhill. The baggage department experience congestion in baggage (LIKE HOW?) and then there was a delay. I waited for my baggage for AN HOUR and then went to queue up to go past the custom scanners, which the queue was so mother-effing long that I swear to god that I feel like cutting them past, by then my watch is telling me that I only have half an hour to catch my plane. Indeed, I didn’t catch my plane. Because the Qantas domestic flight staff told me it’s impossible. So he told me to get in the long line and they will see what they can do to arrange me for another flight.

And you know what they did? When I reached the counter, they gave us taxi vouchers, and then told us to go to the domestic airport to check in our baggage and see what arrangements can be done. Sucking my thumb in disbelief, I went there and they directed me again to another sales ticketing counter to get my flight arranged. Running up and down is not gonna help. And my next flight they arranged was at 6pm, with the 3:40pm one full.

Stranded at Brisbane. For 9 holy hours. What they fuck am I suppose to do? So I did the unthinkable – get my big baggage to be checked in, claiming that it’s still their fault that their baggage department is inefficient, and then making them check in my baggage as early as 9am Aussie time. Btw, I reached Brisbane at 7am. And then I had to lug around my hand carry luggage with me. I tried to squeeze in a “GIVE ME A BUSINESS CLASS UPGRADE FOR YOUR FAULTS” try but I failed.

So I took the train to the City to explore. Well, on the brighter note, it is 2 places in one holiday, not too bad for an experience – Alone. I had totally no clue on what to do at Brisbane, so I went around shopping alone, walking around alone, but I didn’t buy anything, because I might not know what is expensive or cheap, but then again, the stuff there are really different. But the people around there are quite amazing indeed. Haha. Amazing as in they are totally different from what I expect. But it’s fun to people watch, but I get more stares than me staring at them. Perhaps I’m overdressed. Hmmm.

After all the shit, I manage to reach Adelaide at 9:20. Like almost 9 h0urs late. Sad to say, I had to go back for a rest.

Day 2 – Saturday was alright, manage to go around the city exploring what we have in Harbourtown, where most of the discounted things are available there. I saw normal Havaianas at AUD$34 for 2 pairs. Cheap. Haha. The metal logo ones are like AUD$39.95. Not so cheap after all. But will continue to find.

Clothes there are not that cheap either, though they have jeans, sweaters, shirts, and many other stuff. (Colin – Note, your Zapato I found it, but it’s at AUD$109, which is more than what you think.)

Day 3 – The whole day was spent at Kangaroo Island, where I get to see many beautiful sceneries with breathtaking views of rocks and gorges and what have you. Even rocks that look remarkably remarkable that they were named Remarkable Rocks were really remarkably… remarkable. Seriously. Then there were many other stuff to see like Birds of Prey, Seal bay, Admiral’s Arch etc. Totally sightseeing, and wind-eating. So cold that whenever I took my hands out of my pocket, I placed them back in instantly. The wind is like ice-biting cold.

Well, that’s all for today, it’s really a crazy day today. And I finished my black and white film today. Gonna expand one whole roll of lomo velvia colour film tomorrow on street takes. Till then, I will upload photos when I get home. =))

Weekends Are Weekends.

And as fast as the wind goes, the weekends went by just like that as well. And it’s such a tiring week for me that sports are starting to scare me. I ran, I played basketball, I played soccer. My legs are feeling so sore now that it felt like I have “stepped on lemons”. And injuries are so great that I feel lame. Like lame.

Saturday was fruitful, as I went to Tommy’s house for his son’s 1 month thingy. And yes, I got hold of 7 of his Lord of The Rings toys and I’ve bought them all. Sitting prettily on the floor now, I got them for the cheap. But at least till now, I don’t know how much I’m paying. Haha. But still, I’m happy with what I’ve got. At least I need not go shopping around for more. Maybe those that I have not got. Oh well.

Then after the good meal and the baby-looking, I head down to town to meet up with Muq and Colin. Of course, picking up Geokie first because I was on the way. Then slacked around before Suban joined us. Then Zainal. Then David and Coke. Then Joyce and Estee. And yes, Colin did enjoy his meal as well his stand. On the chair that is. Haha.

Slacked around, photo whoring, left, slack more, photo whore more. And that summed up Saturday. Sunday was insane as I got kneed on the right calf, got elbowed on the back of the head, got 1 blister on each foot, and a niggling problem on my left knee. I’m so lame now that I can’t laugh. Fuck.

Then accompanied Jo to Comex and walked into the midst of people. Comex is forever insane la. Oh well.

Now…. for photos.

Sunday Away.

And yet again, the weekend passed so quickly. Clouds moved like typhoons spinning, sun rises and sets like elevators of the Pan pacific. The day and night of the weekends are rather packed but hasty. And I have here with me some photos to highlight the weekend and perhaps the previous weekends and some other weekends. =) This post will be heavy. Like picture heavy. Really. Believe me.

Now to my own bed. =)

Eyelash.

Today over dinner, I discovered that my sisters do have naturally long eyelashes. And my mum went boasting like “I also have last time what, if not how to have kids that have naturally long eyelashes?”

So as everyone will know, the imagination can really run. And yes, it ran so far that I wonder how do I even get it back to my head.

Apparently, I believe most females have seen those kinda fake eyelashes that can extend till as far as perhaps your forehead? Or maybe those fashion fakies that is rather colourful as well as pretty weird at the same time? Yes, so with regards to my imagination, my question is – What if your eye lashes were so effing LONG that when you close your eyes, your eye lash reaches to your chin?

Let me show me my fucked up and lousy “artist” impression of long lashes.

eyelash

Ugly eh. Well that’s because I have lousy skills in such stuff.

Then again, women will go all out to be beautiful ain’t it. All the make up and all the shit. I just did a minor research on a typical make-up thing – The Lipstick. I wonder if any females out there do really know the history behind all the make up. Well, for the answer, from this webby, it describes the history of the lipstick. Here’s the info. Credits to http://www.day2dayskincare.com/product-review/history-of-lipsticks-153/

The history of lipstick starts in 1930s when the semi-precious jewels were being crushed for applying it to the lips as well as on the areas around eyes. But there are evidences which show that lipsticks were used by women of the ancient civilisations like Indus Valley.

The women of Ancient Egypt use to extract a dye of purplish red colour from focus-algin, bromine mannite as well as iodine, which has caused severe illness. Again if you see the evidence, Cleopatra had used lipsticks which were made by crushing carmine beetles. This gave red coloured pigments which were applied by making ants as the base.

The initial shimmering lipsticks contained pearlescence, which is normally found on the scales of fishes.

In the Islamic Golden Age, Abu al-Quasim al-Zahrawi, who was a famous cosmetologist invented the solid lipsticks. These were the rollable perfumed stock which were presented in special moulds. He has described them in the Al-Tasrif.

The popularity of lipsticks in England began somewhere around 16th century when Queen Elizabeth I who was reigning England made the fashion statement by applying bright red lipsticks on white faces. These lipstcicks were a blend of red stains from certain plants as well as the beeswax.

The movie industry started popularising the use of lipstciks around the Second Wolrd War.

Lipsticks are commonly used by women. The women start using the lipsticks only after they reach adulthood or adoloscence.

The lipsticks are not normally used by men. Only in theatres men prefer using lipsticks. The lipsticks used by males is known by the name of manstick.

The wax-free form of lip colour which is like a semi-permanent liquid was invented by Lip-Ink International in 1990s.

But what makes women so dependable on make-ups? Well, correct me, but I think everyone would always want to have that “first impression counts” kind of mentality. Presentational perhaps. But if everyone were to ask about natural beauty, is the makeup kit a justifiable thing? Yes it does make one prettier, but is it the amount or the lesser, the better?

I wonder. I ponder.

And when my mum brought up  the fact that my dad has double eyelids and my brother and I only had one, I went -_-” for a while. =)

Some photos on Saturday’s chill out.

Live life everyday like tomorrow’s your last.

Ugly Singaporeans again?

Ok, as I was on the bus on the way to Kallang, there’s one old man with a walking stick that boarded the bus. Obviously if an old man has to use a walking stick, you gotta obviously deduce the fact that he’s feeble ain’t it? So I was looking at this 4 ladies sitting down on a row of seats in one of the newer buses that you see on the roads.

Let me describe them to you. All 4 of them are aunties. Yes, your typical neighbourhood aunties who will go all out of discounts, dig their legs in public, run as fast to snatch a seat in the train, talk loud and laugh out loud at coffee shops and whatever actions or moves you can think of. Except one of the aunties is a woman from China. I won’t really classify her as an auntie but her looks and dressing is like those auntie trying to go for getai.

Then seemingly their kaypoh eyes all glanced towards the front door, and they all saw the old man. Let me reiterate – I saw ALL OF THEIR EYES looking towards the old man. Then you know what happened? They look back and looked around them, hoping that either the 3 of them will stand up to give up their seats. Whoever they were. And they were all doing the same thing, glancing around, not doing anything, not moving their asses off to give up to that feeble old man trying very hard to stand in the bus.

Of course, of all people I would expect, is the woman from China to give up her seat. But she did. She stood up graciously, guided the old man and pointed him for him to seat. You know what’s worse? All the 3 other aunties just grinned and continue enjoying their warming of their seats with their big fat ugly asses.

Now the question I would like to bring up – Is the typical inconsiderate Singaporean so bad to the point that we need a foreigner to stand up and give up a seat to our local old folks? Where’s the graciousness? Where’s the courtesy? Sometimes I feel that typical “aunties” here in Singapore should be given a good reprimanding. Hmm.

Well, in a short update about recent days, went out with the Nobles on Saturday with guest star Eugene. Visited Joycey and Xueli at Clarke Quay’s food festival before slacking around there. And yes, photos. Haha.

Past few weeks was work and dinner, work and slack. But last night was the ultimate killer, making me sleep at 4:30 after work from Starhub on Sunday. Busy sorting out photos last night. The brain almost conked out though. But I’m ok. Oh wells.

Went out to scout today with noelle and walked really really a long distance. Till the point my feet had blisters from wearing slippers. Tiring but fun to walk around and see places that usually you cant find. =)

Photobucket

Oh well, sometimes how we all wanted to enjoy life but still we understand the fact that life doesn’t come easy most of the time. Patience and happiness are both virtues hard to master, but once attained, I guess you might just be the luckiest person in the world. Sometimes I would really want my life to be happier than what I have though sometimes I know saying is much easier than doing. Well, life is always a mystery yet to be discovered.

If only life wasn’t that terrible.

Being Fined for Jaywalking is Gay.

When I was on the way to IMM for dinner with my family, my mum was mentioning about a police car that was parked downstairs my house along the roadside waiting to catch pedestrains jaywalking across the road. But of course, jaywalking is illegal. And yes, as you all would have expect, I’m complaining not because I got caught, and not because I stay across the road but I think it’s stupid and redundant to fine somone who is either trying to get across the road to work or go home.

I will start on my point of view. Firstly, as a lot of people would have known, I stay just opposite the road of you-know-where. Ok yes, there’s a sign that says no pedastrian crossing from this signboard onwards to the next traffic light along the road. But if you have to cross the road to get to your own house which is just opposite the road, do you want to walk perhaps like another 40 to 50 metres to the traffic light, cross the road, then walk back the same distance that you walked on the opposite of the road to get home?

What if I’m urgent to submit a report for my work? What if my house is on fire and there’s someone trapped in my house? Is it really necessary to fine someone who’s just had a tiring day outside and all he/she wants is to get home and have a good rest on the couch? Yes, the law is the law, but I feel it’s really really dumb to fine people just to cross the road when the road isn’t busy at all. I mean, which dumb ass would just walk onto the road and into an oncoming car without even applying the basic right-left-right rule?

I would suggest these police officers drive their Subaru police cars to TOWN where many people attempt to jaywalk. Firstly, I feel that jaywalk is reasonably agreeable to terms when you are crossing a BUSY road. I mean, because when you attempt to jaywalk across a busy road, the probability of you getting knocked down by a car is high. And the probability of you causing the whole world to wait on the road while the paramedics and police clean up your intestines strewned all over the road is as high as the peak of a mountain.

And the fact that many people at places like Orchard Road always tend to cross the road when they all knew that Orchard Road itself is full of vehicles of different shapes and sizes doesn’t help in road deaths. In fact, I think many are either lazy people, foreigners, or old people. We won’t blame the old people though because of their natural behaviour to want to walk lesser because of their age. But still, I think it’s really really dumb to be camping out there on the side of a neighbourhood road, trying to catch people who are heading home or work.

From the commuters point of view, I feel that if I’m one of them and I’m closing to be late for work, and this police officer stops me just because I’m jaywalking and is wanting to fine me, I will feel that it’s redundant. Not to mention my sister’s classmate who got fined as well for crossing the road to SCHOOL. $50. That’s like close to 18 packets of chicken rice. I wonder if it’s really necessary.

Spare us the stupid $50. I feel that you should take jaywalking fines to town instead of neighbourhood places like these. Because I don’t see the need to it. If not, why not build a bridge across? Or an underpass? Or a zebra crossing? And the government will say it’s not feasible and it’s a waste of resources blah blah blah, and then when people start to die along the road, then they blame us for our carelessness and not being able to adhere to the safety of our own.

In all, I feel it’s just really very dumb and dubious. Full stop.

Forget it. Many people and things are pissing me off today. As usual, will go and sleep all the worries and sadness away.

End Note: I got my work to do. And I’m so mother effing tired.

A New Week of Work.

Yes, I’m so tired. But still, I overhauled another car engine and finished up on the first car.

The first car was way too fantastic. We got a better engine, and while during the testdrive, we sped fast, like real fast, and the acceleration, the pickup speed and the stability of the car was way too wicked. And it’s just a Toyota Corolla. Next time I will get and engine with EFI mode. Wanna know? I won’t say. It’s damn wicked. Hahaha.

Anyways, was rather busy getting my hands down to dirty work as well as picking up phone on numerous occasions of smses and calls. And I got my phone all dirty thanks to it. Damn. Oh well. It’s life isn’t it.

Some pictures today. Pardon the photos again because of my iPhone.

Photobucket

Obviously, my dad’s testing the car once it was all rigged up. Idling was fantastic, everything was well in place, and it goes real fast while we tested. Fantastic.

Photobucket

Got a lorry to service. So we did up this Toyota Dyna. Comes with turbo. No shit man, this lorry is like one of the best conditioned lorries that I have ever sat in my entire life. Fast, good pick up speed, comfortable, good transmission, good idling. It’s like a perfect carrier. If only I can zhng this…

Photobucket

Lifting up the head. Looks like that from the front.
Photobucket

The engine of the lorry with the turbo. If you can locate the turbo…. then…. Mystery gift. Haha. Kidding!

Photobucket

Went to the neighbouring workshop and saw a few of these humongous V10 engines. And to think of it, it’s actually engines meant for ships. You got that. SHIPS. It’s as huge as my size I think. And I think it will be damn cool to have one of these in a Monster Truck.
Photobucket

Road trip yet again, so had to bring that Toyota Dyna for an inspection. This is while waiting for the lorry to be tested for diesel smoke. Learnt many things at the inspection centre as well. =)

Photobucket

To round off my day after a very tiring day at work, a very beautiful sunset greeted me. I ran out to take a shot of this. I couldn’t resist sunsets. It’s like a motivation for me. =)

Work tomorrow as usual. And I’m still finding places to shoot. I need rundown places.

OH MY GOD. Something just popped up in my mind. I do not know if it still exist but I’m willing to go there again to see if I can get in for the photoshoot. *Evil Grins*

Thanks to work, my concentration level is picking up again. =D

Tentative Thursdays.

Woke up a little fuzzy wuzzy in the brain as I slept a little late yesterday after supper. And then I had to follow my dad to work, only to know that we are actually gonna overhaul not 1 but 2 car engines. Worse of all, we are REPLACING them with better ones. Tough work for sure. Of course, work is always a good thing to get over many other thoughts. Feeling a little emo today, but before I blog about it, let me show you today’s work life – in pictures. =)

Pardon the picture quality because I only have my iPhone to take. But still….

Welcome to my dad’s playground.
Photobucket

Spark plugs left on my dad’s desk at the workshop. I use to remove this from the car engine very often during servicing. But not today.

Photobucket

I don’t know where my dad found this but he has a lot of junk in his workshop and I think it’s damn cool. Haha.

Photobucket

Yellow car is dad’s. The other 2 cars are the freaking cars ready for overhauling. We spent the whole day on the green one. And we ain’t done yet.

Photobucket

That’s my dad’s company. Gives me that feeling that it’s been a long long time and my dad deserves more than just this.

Photobucket

My mum buys the eggs, my dad burns the trays. He collects this from my mum’s grocery shopping of eggs to burn this at the workshop to ward of mosquitoes. Inventive eh.

Photobucket

He did it even better when he decided to burn one egg tray as well as a bundle of leaves to ward off even more mosquitoes. By the way, just on the left side of the picture is where we pee. That’s kinda like a makeshift toilet. Haha. No shitting there though.

Photobucket

This is the whole chunk of metal that we are working on. The engine is not visible because it’s not in the picture but what u can see here are many wires, the gear box and the car battery and a partial part of the throttle body.

Photobucket

This is inside one of the engine valves where that small nut over there is actually a spark plug like you have seen in the first picture. =)

Photobucket

My sunburnt skin peeling like snakes shedding theirs. I’m two-tone for now.

Photobucket

Bak Kut Teh for lunch. One of the best I have eaten. Good value with good amount of food. =)

Photobucket

My dad’s Honda Steed. Still looks brand new. He might sell it away. But it’s really a beauty.

Photobucket

Another take on the bike.

Photobucket

Live to Ride, Ride to Live. And yes, Free Spirit. =D

Photobucket

The bloody gadget that we used to move the engine from one place to another. Must be wondering how we removed the engine from the car right. Haha. My dad borrowed a forklift from the next door neighbour. Shiok. Haha.

Photobucket

The bike again. Nice eh.

Photobucket

This power gun is a saviour for all situations that seem so hard to resolve. Remove nuts like nothing siol. Haha.

Photobucket

The new engine, that looks old. Haha.

Photobucket

The night scene at his workplace. The sea and many other ships waiting to be repaired.

Now, during work, while working and dazing in a moment, I pondered about 3 things that has been bugging my mind for a while. It’s rather stupid but I think it’s really very weird to think about as well.

Firstly, it’s about my job thing. I realise that because my dad’s getting older and he might be retired at god-knows-when age, by the time I sign on, I should be saving up for my future, my studies and whatever. But because my dad’s the sole breadwinner, I couldn’t figure out but how dependant they would be on my income because my brother’s not done with his studies and so are my sisters. And without my dad working, I figure out that I would be paying the school fees.

If that’s the case, household bills and whatever bills that come by will be paid by me. And guess what, if I ever do that for the next few years, I won’t have the money for my own future. I can’t save anything for myself because I’m paying for everything that is suppose to be paid for at home. It kinda literally translate that I’m like the “Dad” in the house. And eventually I don’t have the money for myself when my brother’s and sisters graduate from whatever school they are from and starting to work outside. If that’s the case, how to marry? How do I go by meeting my targeted marriage age of 29? Which girl would want me at the age of 29 with a stable job but without a stable income?

It’s impossible. Sigh.

Secondly, it is a question that I would like to ask the many females out there in the world – In a situation where you like this certain guy and this certain guy likes you as well, do you wait for the guy to confess that he likes you or do you confess first?

I have been wondering about this because I have never confessed FIRST to a girl that I like. And then again, you know how sometimes girls can play hard to get and stuff like that. If I think too much, I think too much. If I don’t think, the girl might just be saying in her heart that fuck it, this guy is a dork – he doesn’t get my signal. So at times like this when I don’t even know if the girl’s interested in me or not is really a very fuck up thing to figure out.

And it’s because of such situations that it always makes me feel one thing – and that is I’m good ENOUGH as a friend. I know I’ve failed twice to be a good boyfriend but then in so much circumstances that I busted it all, I guess that sometimes, I’m better off alone. Because of situations like the above. And you know how it’s like to be rejected by a girl if the girl has no feelings for you. I tried to be who I am but I don’t reap what I sow. I guess I don’t deserve more than I offer.

I had enough of being positive. I hoped. Not too much but I hoped. But I guess it was never and perhaps it will never ever be meant to be.

Last but not least, it’s the fact that I’m having a poor memory. Dad scolded me today because I forgotten things that he told me like 5 minutes ago. And I was disappointed in myself. But after that, I stopped to realise that my bad memory is not a forgetful and natural thing that happened to me but a rather “habitual” thing.

I told myself to forget about many things and that lived life in every situation I faced in. And because of that, I do what I have to do and react in every situation but moved on real quick so as to forget the things that happened before. Maybe because of that action, I have cultivated a habit that wasn’t really right of me.

I didn’t deny that I had bad memory all the time, but isn’t it time to prove others that perhaps I have done it on purpose “accidentally”? Well, I know it’s a buggy issue and that I can’t afford to screw things up time and time again. Perhaps I need an organiser. Or a secretary (kidding, I can’t afford one unless it’s free labour.). Or a notepad to write everything down.

Sigh. I guess this half of the year might be too early to say, but I guess it’s not really improving. Oh well. FML.

A Day at Work with the Dad.

Ok, so I was deployed to help my Dad with his job. So I had to do what I had to do as a son. And of course, I was bored, so I took some pictures along the way while driving a Fiat Punto as instructed by my Dad. And while working, I had many insights to do and try. Fixing cars has never been so fun. And it was a good thing to do because I can get away from many thoughts of mine. It feels like I have started afresh. I guess I could only pray for a better half of the year.

Now, let my pictures from my iPhone do the talking. May it speak a thousand or million words. =)

Photobucket

This was before work on Saturday when there’s NDP at the floating platform. Looks like the mobile column is back on track. =D

Now work begins.

Photobucket

At some place in the car. It’s those scaffolding parts that you are seeing now. LOL.

Photobucket

The auto gear of the Punto. =)

Photobucket

Found a similiar colour but totally not maintained Mazda 121 that my dad is using now. And I as well. Haha. Coincidental. =D

Photobucket

That’s a pile of… I really dunno what is it.

Photobucket

Somewhere in Penjuru.

Photobucket

Containers that stack real high.

Photobucket

The dart board at my dad’s workshop. It’s fun when you are bored and you really feel like throwing a dart at someone’s face. Haha.

Photobucket

His garden table in his workshop. Old school shit. =D

Photobucket

While working halfway, my dad spotted a crab while he was under a car removing the oil filter. Amazingly, this crab actually crawled from sea till our workshop. That’s partially because my dad’s workshop is just beside the sea. But still, it was rather cool to see a crab – saltwater one – at a workshop. Haha.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Big ass cranes everywhere.
Photobucket

Empty bottles of engine oil disposed off somewhere.

Photobucket

Old wheel.

Photobucket

Car jack. Seen one before? LOL.

Photobucket

Filter balls for the fish tank.
Photobucket

Tyres and pipes make a neat work place. Or is it?
Photobucket

So we head down to VICOM for a vehicle inspection and I was there with my dad as he drove a lorry. Not too bad. Get to slack out of the workshop. =)
Photobucket

Photobucket

Get to slack at a very uber comfortable sofa while waiting at VICOM.
Photobucket

People dangling stuff out there like no one’s business. Just amazed by the height. Haha.
Photobucket

Photobucket

The fan that saved me from many more mosquito bites. But still I had 3. It’s healed. Haha.

Photobucket

And yes, I have a Nerf Maverick 6. Went over to Brendan’s place for a shootout as well as range practices. Madness. But it reminds me so much of a Hellboy handgun. Or revolver so to speak.

And I was caught off guard while taking a sweet short nap at Coffee Bean at Orchard Central. I dunno who took this, but it must be either one of them. Haha.

Photobucket

Photobucket

And yes, they had to use my phone.

Basically, we headed down to Zam Zam for dinner and Sisha and Haji Lane. It was a total fun night with the Nobles and Joyce. Haha. Well, I was hoping for a full attendance today. Sad to say only Zainal couldn’t join us. But I’m hopeful of another full attendance outing some day. Pray to God that we all can make it full. Madness. Whahaha.

Now to sign off back to sleep. More photos tomorrow. Next time I will edit my iPhone photos. So that at least it looks more artistic. =\

At last.

Just when all hopes are lost. Just when all hopes are fading. I actually found an event job under Starhub. Work might be quite alright, but it’s the money that is important. At last. I do not need to rot at home. Just for 3 days. I do hope that the next half of the year, my luck will change for the better. I seriously need to scrimp and save from then onwards.

Call me cheap, but I will do it. I will even go to McDonalds to ask for a free cup of water. Haha.

It makes me all the more willing to work for money nowsadays, given the fact that jobs are hard to find. Then again, I shall not choose my job anymore. Oh wells. No money, no honey, nobody love me eh. HAHA!.

How dreaded can one be without the cash to do things that he would like to do? In fact, I would want to save up for the future, but even luck isn’t on my side. How do I go by saving myself when even the holy ones don’t bother? If the damned really gave a damn, then I will sure be dead. But the holy ones aren’t here to save me. Thanks for that, and now I’m suffering like a lost cause. I perhaps still have like another month to suffer, all in hope of a better second half of the year.

—————————————————————————————————

Went for some gaming session at Pitstop with the fellow Nobles. Had good food, great fun and much much laughter and company. In fact, I think we made a ruckus out of the whole place. It’s an afternoon of cups falling, jaws dropping, chin-strapping, snorkelling straw, a missing spatula, a shriek from someone, drinks splashing, laugh-out-loud-ing, Xmas carolling while staring, spinning 4 rounds, hee-the-horhor-ing, slamming of hands while trying to add fruits and a whole lot of food, drinks and desserts. Nice. In all, it was fun. A good day of stomache-aching and laughter. It was definitely a nua-day today. Even had to stand to watch the live match of Manure and the Gooners.

And yes, so what if Man Utd won the title. Does it even affect my life? HAHA. In fact, I somehow detest all Man Utd fans – especially those friends on Facebook. In one whole half of a match, I can have like 20 over status updates on who scores, what’s the score, whether they are dreading the loss, and all the bullshit crap. Come on la. Do you even see me flaunting Gerrard or Torres scoring hat-tricks? Get a life. Die hard fans? Tsk. As cocky as the team itself. Think about it. You guys have zero shots on target and you can actually pick up a draw and winning the title. You call that winning in style? So much for being the best “attacking football team”. KNS lor. My verdict is that Arsenal played so much better than you guys. Please. Wenger deserves to keep his job for all he has done for the club even if it means playing to the final whistle with a 0 – 0 on the scoresheet.

No offence to beks and bridget or whoever a Man Utd fan can be, but because of the other friends I have who support Man Utd who are so freaking arrogant about the team that they support, I can’t help but rant here. 4 words – Si Bei Hao Lian. You don’t see me cheering for every Liverpool match. Zzzzz. Pisses me off.

Now a lullaby for me to sleep. Enjoy the video. =D

The Killers – Glamourous Indie Rock and Roll

Stay if you wanna love me, stay
Oh don’t be shy, let’s cause a scene
Like lovers do, on silver screens
Lets make it, yeah, we’ll cause a scene

Sad but True

Metallica – Sad but True

Hey
I’m your life
I’m the one who takes you there
hey
I’m your life
I’m the one who cares
they
they betray
I’m your only true friend now
they
they’ll betray
I’m forever there

I’m your dream, make you real
I’m your eyes when you must steal
I’m your pain when you can’t feel
sad but true

I’m your dream, mind astray
I’m your eyes while you’re away
I’m your pain while you repay
you know it’s sad but true

you
you’re my mask
you’re my cover, my shelter
you
you’re my mask
you’re the one who’s blamed
do
do my work
do my dirty work, scapegoat
do
do my deeds
for you’re the one who’s shamed

I’m your dream, make you real
I’m your eyes when you must steal
I’m your pain when you can’t feel
sad but true

I’m your dream, mind astray
I’m your eyes while you’re away
I’m your pain while you repay
you know it’s sad but true

hate
I’m your hate
I’m your hate when you want love
pay
pay the price
pay, for nothing’s fair

hey
I’m your life
I’m the one who took you here
hey
I’m your life
and I no longer care

I’m your dream, make you real
I’m your eyes when you must steal
I’m your pain when you can’t feel
sad but true

I’m your truth, telling lies
I’m your reasoned alibis
I’m inside open your eyes
I’m you

sad but true

Cheesy video indeed. I mean I don’t paste 80′s videos but this song just digs somehow. Sad but true. LOL.

Sometimes, many things in life tend to be somewhat FML. It’s really sad to hear, but it’s really true. Many things unexplainable or rather not be mentioned. But still, life goes on doesn’t it.

After all, life’s a bittersweet symphony. We ride on the serenade of time.

Has anyone in the world ever sits down on their couch with a glass of wine and a bowl of crackers and ask themselves what’s life? Or have they ever come across sitting in a daze, staring into space, asking themselves what’s life? In fact, I guess in the world, not many people do so. That’s why we have people like Confucious or Shakespeare.

In our society, life hasn’t been something that people sits down to think of. People here are either too tied up with their important things or they are tired from the important things in life. That results in them going to bed. But as you can see on your Facebook “Online Friends” list on the bottom right corner of the screen, we have many friends still up at wee hours of the night. Tired? Exhausted? Bluff one la. HAHA.

Then again, does that mean that Singaporeans here do not even think or have a thought of what they perceive of life? I mean, they wake up, do what they wanna do / have to do, then go back to sleep. Is there even time for them to think about life? I know that I ain’t doing anything in life for the moment which is why I can sit here and analyze about the whole situation but does anyone in this society ever thought about it? Have you ever asked yourself after reading this about what’s life? Or in specific – What about your life?

Perhaps maybe sleeping/partying is the best way for people here to get out of stress. Sometimes I also wonder when people go to the club and start drinking like crazy, do their livers ever break down on them? Can you imagine one day when your friend calls you and says “Hey, wanna hang out? Erm, wait, I’m on dialysis. Join me?”

True enough, sometimes we down alcohol over misery. But is it really your cup of tea? Are you enjoying alcohol or just the fact of drowning sorrows and misery? Alcohol is – in fact – a bittersweet poison.

Sad BUT True.

252 Signal of Life

movie-poster-252-signal-of-life

Caught this movie at Cineleisure after doing an on-the-spot decision with OJ. Haha.

The plot -A few weeks after a gigantic earthquake strikes Tokyo, the temperature of the Pacific Ocean suddenly increases and causes the largest typhoon ever seen in Japan to head towards Tokyo with devastating force. The tidal wave generated by the typhoon covers the coastal city area with water. The Tokyo Fire Department dispatches its elite rescue unit and their sonar picks up a signal from underwater. Beneath the ground, in one subway station, there is someone sending out a code which is known to rescuers only: 252 252 “We have survivors!” A rescue party tries to save the survivors at the risk of their own lives. In the face of death, a daring rescue operation is to be carried out.

Alright. Before I enter the cinema and get comfortable on my own seat, I was telling myself – damn, this better be worth my $6 bucks. Because I have always cast doubts over Japanese chaotic and disaster movies.

As for this movie….. the plot was predictable, with the Japanese people’s all serious but comedic sense still existent. Then again, as Japanese directors are good at, they put you in such situations where drastic measures have to be taken in order for someone to survive and stuff. At that point, it was rather tense. But all thanks to their expressions and good acting nonetheless.

The hearing impaired child’s mother was irritating to the core, as in her voice and tone is just enough for me to give her a tight slap on the face. But of course if I literally do so, OJ will get slapped instead. LOL. Then again, I was really quite emotional about the slow mo parts. But I felt that it was quite draggy for the slow mo parts. I mean – AREN’T YOU PEOPLE SUPPOSE TO BE LIKE SAVING LIVES NOW?.

The CGI wasn’t too good, although it reminded me like Day After Tomorrow. The ending was a bit abrupt, but motivational teachings were great and survival teachings were a tad too good to be true. Humour was present as well. Sometimes I just couldn’t help but laugh at their seriousness. Thanks to their expressions as well, my resistance to laugh gave way. Eventually, the whole movie boils down to having too much melodrama. Which in fact, in turned out quite Korean-ish. LOL.

The movie is indeed enjoyable to watch and kinda tense at some point, where you know that situations like these is a matter of life and death and all about making the right decisions fast. Then again, it was worth the $6, but if it were a weekend movie, I guess it would make more sense to wait for the DVD. But still, it’s not too bad a movie. Just the dragging parts. =)

Ratings – 3 and a half out of 5 stars.
