How Is It Possible?

The likely chance of you getting into an unlucky shit only happens once. But the unlikely truth is that you can get into that shit TWICE in a few minutes at the same place at the same situation. Here’s what happend.

Base on the illustration above, the yellow car is – yes, my car. The blue one is Colin’s car. The 2 of us, including Zainal, David and Gilbert were at Orchard Central’s Gelare for Waffle Tuesdays. And yes, apparently after Zainal and Gilbert left for elsewhere, we decided for more food after feeling rather inhumanly hungry today. So we decided to leave Orchard Central for Spize at River Valley.

So when we got down to the exit point, we were greeted by these 3 cars as shown above. Car number 1 has been there for quite a while and it is rather strange that the car isn’t moving, and the machine isn’t really detecting his IU device of the car. But strangely, the guy in the car just did nothing to even react. WHERE’S THE COMMON SENSE DUDE.

The security guard(s) over there sensed something amiss, so they decided to check on the guy and they realise that there’s a problem with the car’s IU device, and ushered the other cars behind to reverse so that Car number 1 can reverse to one side to settle his issue. That’s practically fine with me because that could have been done like a very long time ago, rather than getting stuck there and being clueless on what to do other then waiting for the barrier to rise which is at this case, NOT likely to happen because of his faulty IU device.

As shown above, Car number 1, with the help of the security guards, reversed his car to that particular corner so that the rest of the vehicles which are poorly waiting for him to give way can move ahead and exit the carpark. So the vehicle behind Car number 1 proceeded and manage to pass through the gantry with ease.

Then came the second idiot.

As you can see from the poor illustration that I had to do with Paint, Car number 2 had to stop there for awhile so that the machine can deduct it’s cashcard value in order to open the gantry. And like most carparks here in Singapore, they have a display that tells you how much they have deducted from your cashcard from the car. Apparently, this idiot didn’t top up his card. And I can see his silhouette fumbling in his car and stuff like that. And with the display flashing “Insufficient funds”, I knew why there was all that “Oh shit, Oh shit” reaction going on in his car. Zzz.

And it’s quite “sian-sational” for him to feel that before him was an idiot who didn’t had the initative to get out of his car to direct other’s to move backwards so that he can move, and Car number 2 driver must be cursing and swearing at how idiotic he is. Then as Karma struck at boiling point, the kettle starts to whistle. And he got his revenge. Thanks to him, myself and Colin were like “what the fuck….” in our respective vehicles.

So ultimately, Car number 2 had to reverse to the left of my vehicle and carry on his own problem to allow other vehicles behind him to go. I was hoping that Colin wouldn’t get stuck at the gantry. Luckily he didn’t. Because it’s not the gantry machine’s technical fault by the way.

This serves as a good example of not being ready for situations like this. It’s very funny yet critical that people, knowing that they are gonna exit the carpark but not knowing how long they actually parked, actually still try to exit the carpark without even bothering to check on what amount their cashcard has left inside. And it’s funny because they think that they are the only car that is exiting this carpark. Selfish or inconsiderate?

Just…. Suay la. Haha.

Oh ya, this is a fine example of not being prepared for situations as well. So to those Singaporeans who keep complaining about the DBS/POSB server being down in the morning, please wake up your damn idea and stop being a slave to technology. If everyone is to depend on ATM machines every morning or every hour of the day, why the hell is money printed out for? Monopoly boardgames? Your wallet isn’t there to contain only CARDS. If cash was king, why didn’t you have some spare ones in your wallet/pocket/coincase? Don’t go “oh ya hor” on me.

If the server is down for a week then you have every right to complain about your money getting stuck in the bank for the wrong reasons but if it’s only for a morning which probably most of the time, you won’t really need to use it unless otherwise necessary, just be prepared with some cash in your wallet.

Now let me go back to my reflective corner.

Difficulties.

You know, it’s really really hard to think positive. And I believe it’s the same as that saying that says that people won’t remember the goods that you do but the bads that you have done. Well, negativity is what clouds most of us, probably the same amount as what I have. Only the determined ones are those with the positive and “never-say-die” mindset.

Today, I put myself through a gruelling 12 hours or work at the office, clearing all the shit that I can clear. Manage to do many, with not much confidence because everything in my job as days go by becomes something new. But what can I do? Sometimes I wonder if the shit is ever mine to clear. Then again, if I don’t do, I will get into trouble. So what can I do? Probably my job now is to clear shit of the past. And if I clear it well and clean, then probably I will be recognised. But I doubt that is such the case in government jobs.

I surprisingly refrained myself so much more to log into facebook and twitter for today. I think I didn’t log on as many times I did in previous occasions. Quite impressed with that, but still, I’m trying so hard to segregate myself from the world because I feel that I should take a break from everything. The holiday did justice, but wasn’t enough. This ain’t humble greed. But I guess I could do with silence for awhile. So mind me but I probably will only blog and not Facebook talk for the moment. Will only be contactable if I’m contactable.

2010 has so far been quite shitty because of the first day of work. And that this first day seemed to be like any other day that is quite shitty at work. But still, reaching home is a blessing. I hope tomorrow will be a little earlier of sorts. But I doubt that is the case because I have tons of more shit to clear. Not mine though. But left behind by what I know as people who do not do their work well enough.

Now, pictures to sum up my 2009. Here goes.

Warning – a post that is too long to remember, but too long to forget.

Photobucket

CNY – this was taken when we always have this standard issue of visiting this granduncle of ours first. This is when we all really gather together for a photo taking session, EVERY YEAR, same area of phototaking. Totally brings back many fun memories. =)

Photobucket

Our home steamboat. Apparently we always eat healthy, but always full to the point that sometimes I wonder why I became fat. Pork, prawns, abalone, fish, chicken, quail eggs, vegetables, sausages etc. Totally love it!

Photobucket

This was taken when we did a night CNY visit to Bren and Bert’s “mansion” apparently we did many stupid things like playing blackjack with 5 cents? LOL. And we probably did some photoshoot and stuff like that. Oh well.

Photobucket

I became bad after that bad experience with her. So what happened is that I went sisha for the first time. Of course, I won’t post the photo here. But then, it was a fantastic experience. Not always a regular thing. Perhaps just for fun. Warning, it’s unhealthy as you all will know.

Photobucket

Then came girlgirl’s birthday. Memories unfold as we all did our crankiness well by playing… in the wardrobe. Of course, those were one of the best group photos taken. Totally fun. A great place with a great night stay indeed. P.S. Geoks, you say want to take photo with me on your birthday also never happened in the end. LOL.

Photobucket

Then came the green laterns. We headed to IKEA after a streak of boring days. Of course, we didn’t waste much time in dwelling, but wasted much time on the kids section. Like what we are above.

Photobucket

Then the picnic after the birthday. Muq made great tasty muffins for all. Fully chocolate, it’s really really rich in chocolate fudge. Totally dig that for sure. With almost full attendance, the picnic was a success, minus the rain, but positively, we picnicked for the first time as a huge group. Kudos to all!

Photobucket

And yes, my birthday. I still look rather weird that day. Oh well. But I loved the fisheye camera. Thanks Nobles! <3

Photobucket

Of course, how could we forget April without Qing Ming Festival? Another usual practise with my family members and relatives. Visited the big grave at Mt Pleasant in a Bus. Then phototaking as if we really have all the time in the world. The laughters. The ancestors. The rain. The fun. Totally fun.

Photobucket

A bad day for girlgirl ended up in smiles when 4 guys and a girl decided to head to T3 to become the most crazy group of people ever. I wonder why we even did ballerina and ninja poses.

Photobucket

After much effort almost into midnight, I fixed up my photos and this huge piece of A0 Photo at Liquids Cafe itself. Displaying there with such huge aura is that sunset picture taken many years back. Amazingly, it still stands out somehow. Of course, it’s for sale. Any takers?

Photobucket

It was Sentosa with WJ one day. And it really brings back so much memories of a child, where I felt that the moving belt around that tank was quite a fun experience. Of course, everyone grows up, and I realise Underwater world is a small peasy place. Can’t compare, but the reminisce of times like these does help bring back smiles in the heart.

Photobucket

We headed to the Henderson Ridges after the exploration session at the Railway itself. The boardwalk was definitely tiring, with Suban having cramps on both legs on the first slope of the walk. But still, he made it with the rest of us nonetheless. Great job brother!

Photobucket

Well, how could we have forgotten that RAWR-ing bread. I brought it along for a trip that probably is it’s first and it’s last. But fun nonetheless. =))

Photobucket

Got a free entry to the Aquarama exhibition at Suntec thanks to a guy who decided to give his tickets away to no one else but me. Totally amazed by the exotic fishes and beautiful aquariums in there. Nice.

Photobucket

Enough said. 5 folds. Enough money. Overkill.

Photobucket

Steamboat at David’s place. Had an impromptu dinner there with loads of food and a greatly done soup courtesy of Suban. Definitely, we had so much food that probably couldn’t make us sinfully sit down and watch tv all the while. Definitely a great time to catch up. and enjoy for sure!

Photobucket

The two rascals that can’t seem to stop bothering me for a minute. Then again, they are just adorable kids that disturb the peace in the house. The girl’s gone to AMK, leaving the boy alone…. to create more disturbance. Irritating. But just damn cute no?

Photobucket

One of the days of work when it was quite boring. My dad brought me over to learn how to overhaul not one but two car engines. It’s definitely a tiring job. But it was worth learning that damn experience.

Photobucket

Coffee Club’s Mudpie still owns sometimes. Had a night out a Clarke Quay with most of the guys from the Nobles. Fantastic catch up with David and Colin being disturbed time and time again. Amazing fun day indeed. Can’t stop laughing as well!

Photobucket

Another day out, with Eugene joining us. Definitely another day of phototaking for sure. =)

Photobucket

During the first week of August, my aunt celebrated her 60th birthday. And boy was it a big one. Check out the family members and relatives there and you see why. Even the last row had to stand on the chairs. Not enough space! Even I’m stuck at the back.,

Photobucket

Another impromptu outing again. I can’t remember much from this, but I’m pretty sure we sat down and Starbucks and McDonalds.

Photobucket

After a day out, we decided to crash KPO in the evening for some ice cream and sorbet. And boy were we happy people after that. The sorbet was quite way above my expectations. Though the place has total coolness in their interior designs, the sorbet was the one that rocked my socks off for sure.

Photobucket

Joyce’s birthday was one of the highlights because I covered her birthday party photos. But it was the food somehow that keeps me eating non-stop. Probably it’s the price that she pays that makes it so tasty. Overall a great party as well as great catch up. I hate the stayover part though.

Photobucket

An impromptu trip to Jurong Hill one night after Al Azhar was the time to really reflect so much in life. I guess the strong wind and the great company did help. =)

Photobucket

I loved the series of this edits because of it’s blurry effect but it was times like these that we decide to sit down and chill. Good old times my friends, good old times.

Photobucket

One boring night when we were bored and didn’t know where to explore, we ended up in the east. But still, this didn’t stop Colin from being funny as always. Never fail to entertain Mr Foo, keep it up! Haha.

Photobucket

Then came Gilbert’s birthday. Tell me, isn’t this picture lovely? Cafe Cappadocia was great, then we went Giraffe to slack, and Zainal and David left early, but still, it was a good night out for all. French Fries was key.

Photobucket

And how can I ever forget when the KOP came to Singapore? Sang my lungs out, lost my voice, did the Kallang Wave in so many years time, wave scarfs as if I was at Liverpool, it was an unforgettable evening. Totally love this match for sure. 5 – 0 thrashing yo. But then again, we gotta give credits to the Singapore team as well.

Photobucket

AYG. Media Boat. Photos on Straits Times and various newspapers and website. What more can I ask for?

Photobucket

Impromptu Sentosa outing with the cousins. It’s time like these that you realise how close can the family get. Sometimes I just gotta take time off and spend it with them.

Photobucket

The First exploration with a large group… to 15 minutes… to order $20 worth of fries… and get scared of it… That’s why Colin has a huge *ahem*. LOL.

Photobucket

Dad’s birthday at Astons. It was my treat. LOL. But I couldn’t help it because I got my first pay. And I felt it was right of me to do so. So I did what I had to do. At least everyone enjoyed their meal. =D

Photobucket

After Colin’s birthday celebration, Mount Faber was probably the only place that we can think of, so it was cam-whoring time as usual, with that ballerina pose surfacing from don’t know whose mind, and then having more fun shots like these. Friends are still the fun ones to be with somehow. Haha.

Photobucket

Right, Colin’s Birthday. I mean, this is the start of Coke’s revolutionarised birthday cards. I mean, Xueli did received one of her own recently for her birthday. I think Zai and Muq did received them too. LOL. But it’s the thought that counts. Great handicraft! Credits go to Coke. =P

Photobucket

Remember Suban’s atas birthday place? Who could have asked for more? I’m pretty sure that the place is still as pretty. Manage to meet up with Wayne that day as he was the lifeguard. Small world, but can’t find time to talk cock with him. Then again, Suban’s birthday was definitely all planned up. At least he enjoyed. And at least he had fun. And all of us being silly in that birthday hat and mask. LOL.

Photobucket

Another impromptu outing. This time with Annice. In fact, it was the first and the last in 2009. LOL. She’s too busy to meet up with the rest, as usual.

Photobucket

Then came my long awaited Australia trip. A trip that probably I will never forget because Qantas gave me the worst experience ever. TV on plane spoilt, baggage delay, missed flight, stuck at Brisbane for 9 hours, only to reach Adelaide after that, and then flight delay on the way back. Kills my mood somehow. But I still love Adelaide. The weather, the peace, the relaxing pace of life there. This year. One more time. If not, Europe.

Photobucket

My 2nd wedding photoshoot in my lifetime. The couple had a simple wedding but of course, for every wedding comes with memories in pictures, and I was quite eager to shoot with determination spurning me on most of the time. I hope I didn’t ruin anything for them. But after this experience, I know how a traditional wedding goes as well as learning points taken.

Photobucket

Yes, and full attendance came. Come on, we hardly have the chance to meet, and just at the right time, on Muqsit’s 24th, everyone appeared. Amazingly. A great group outing with lots of laughter and cheers. And paranormal activity.

Photobucket

The first discovery of One Rochester for us. Amazed by their interiors and ambience, we probably didn’t know that the place was that expensive. But still, we loved the dessert. Fine apple and frangipane tart is still my all time over there. Somehow. Haha.

Photobucket

The first time discovery of Silvery Moon at Pasir Ris Park. Topshells were the tastiest somehow. Of course, accompanied with great ambience, we did had a great time slacking there, apparently because the seats were damn comfortable for me. LOL. Well, nothing beats the company sometimes. =D

Photobucket

Then mum and Andrea’s birthday came. 1 day apart, both of them usually celebrate their birthday together, like how me and Nat celebrated together when we were young, but people can tell that it is 9 days apart. Zzzz. But still, that night we had great Hokkien cuisine with a tasty cake for dessert!

Photobucket

The first discovery of Moonstone. Then again, subsequent visits made it more memorable because of it’s Xmas lighting as well as a relatively worthy liveband to patronise in the future. Saturdays are great days there. And once they remove the canvas shelter above you, a clear sky greets you, and the stars are just within your vision. Fantastic eh.

Photobucket

My First Interior Shoot. Totally stitch it up. And it looks like this. Makes me wanna have a house.

Photobucket

One night when we were bored, Barrage seems like a place to go. And fun usually follows. I forgotten what the game was all about, but I know the both of them were laughing out loud most of the time. Haha!

Photobucket

Well, what’s fun without having fun with toys?

Photobucket

And what’s love without experimenting? Then again, this two shoots were done on a random note. But it was worth it. At least it represents something.

Photobucket

And on a night that was supposingly happy, I guess this picture did sum up most of our mood. Probably on the opposite end, I was quiet that day. Didn’t speak much. But that’s what’s happening to me these days. Probably I shouldn’t talk to much. Oh well.
Photobucket

And so the season to be jolly arrived, where all of us stayed so long to enjoy the little things in life. Though most of them left early, this party was one party never to forget. Great presents exchanged, great food, great music, great photos. Apparently it was totally awesome. =))

Photobucket

To sum up 2009, I guess it was company like these that makes life so much more fun and less-stressful. New year’s day was a one to remember as well, though we had much time to individual selves. But still, it was fun though.

Now let’s hope that the ushering of 2010 be a good, if not great one. Doesn’t sound right for me now, but hopefully things will fall in place.

Time to go. Time to let go.

Belief

Belief makes things real
Makes things feel, feel alright
Belief makes things true
things like you, you and I

(chorus)
Tonight you rest in my mind
When you came to my defense
With a knife in the shape of your mouth
In the form of your body
With the wrath of a God
Oh you stood by me

Belief builds from scratch
Doesn’t have to relax
It doesn’t need space
Long live the Queen
And I’ll be the King
In the colour of grace

(chorus)
Oh tonight you rest in my mind
When you came to my defense
With a knife in the shape of your mouth
In the form of your body
With the wrath of a God
Oh you stood by me, Belief

I’m gonna yell it from the roof tops
I’ll wear a sign on my chest
That’s the least I can do, its the least I can do

(Chorus)

And I’ll stand by mine, belief
oh I’ll stand by mine, belief

Bandwidth over here is limited will only type into words instead. Will upload photos when I get home.

Anyways, I believe most people have known a little about my slight “plight” here when I touched down in Aussie. Here’s what happened.

Day 1 – I took off from Singapore at around 2125H and took a long plane trip to Brisbane. So on the plane itself, my entertainment tv set was down, and the passenger beside me, a Swedish old man, had his working, so he kindly called for help to get my tv done up, so they restarted the system, and then it was his turn to be spoiled and mine – working – obviously.

Then the restarting continued and it was back to square one again. So I was quite pissed off because I was watching “The Proposal” halfway through. But when I was about to reach Brisbane International, things started working all fine. By then I had to fast forward to all the action scenes in Transformers : Revenge of the Fallen and finish it all in like half an hour perhaps? Period. Although I know I won’t have it.

So after alighting, everything went smoothly through the customs (chop passport that part), then things went downhill. The baggage department experience congestion in baggage (LIKE HOW?) and then there was a delay. I waited for my baggage for AN HOUR and then went to queue up to go past the custom scanners, which the queue was so mother-effing long that I swear to god that I feel like cutting them past, by then my watch is telling me that I only have half an hour to catch my plane. Indeed, I didn’t catch my plane. Because the Qantas domestic flight staff told me it’s impossible. So he told me to get in the long line and they will see what they can do to arrange me for another flight.

And you know what they did? When I reached the counter, they gave us taxi vouchers, and then told us to go to the domestic airport to check in our baggage and see what arrangements can be done. Sucking my thumb in disbelief, I went there and they directed me again to another sales ticketing counter to get my flight arranged. Running up and down is not gonna help. And my next flight they arranged was at 6pm, with the 3:40pm one full.

Stranded at Brisbane. For 9 holy hours. What they fuck am I suppose to do? So I did the unthinkable – get my big baggage to be checked in, claiming that it’s still their fault that their baggage department is inefficient, and then making them check in my baggage as early as 9am Aussie time. Btw, I reached Brisbane at 7am. And then I had to lug around my hand carry luggage with me. I tried to squeeze in a “GIVE ME A BUSINESS CLASS UPGRADE FOR YOUR FAULTS” try but I failed.

So I took the train to the City to explore. Well, on the brighter note, it is 2 places in one holiday, not too bad for an experience – Alone. I had totally no clue on what to do at Brisbane, so I went around shopping alone, walking around alone, but I didn’t buy anything, because I might not know what is expensive or cheap, but then again, the stuff there are really different. But the people around there are quite amazing indeed. Haha. Amazing as in they are totally different from what I expect. But it’s fun to people watch, but I get more stares than me staring at them. Perhaps I’m overdressed. Hmmm.

After all the shit, I manage to reach Adelaide at 9:20. Like almost 9 h0urs late. Sad to say, I had to go back for a rest.

Day 2 – Saturday was alright, manage to go around the city exploring what we have in Harbourtown, where most of the discounted things are available there. I saw normal Havaianas at AUD$34 for 2 pairs. Cheap. Haha. The metal logo ones are like AUD$39.95. Not so cheap after all. But will continue to find.

Clothes there are not that cheap either, though they have jeans, sweaters, shirts, and many other stuff. (Colin – Note, your Zapato I found it, but it’s at AUD$109, which is more than what you think.)

Day 3 – The whole day was spent at Kangaroo Island, where I get to see many beautiful sceneries with breathtaking views of rocks and gorges and what have you. Even rocks that look remarkably remarkable that they were named Remarkable Rocks were really remarkably… remarkable. Seriously. Then there were many other stuff to see like Birds of Prey, Seal bay, Admiral’s Arch etc. Totally sightseeing, and wind-eating. So cold that whenever I took my hands out of my pocket, I placed them back in instantly. The wind is like ice-biting cold.

Well, that’s all for today, it’s really a crazy day today. And I finished my black and white film today. Gonna expand one whole roll of lomo velvia colour film tomorrow on street takes. Till then, I will upload photos when I get home. =))

Astons

At last, I get to dine at Astons after some “not bad” comments from my family members. And this time round, we head to the real deal – which is the restaurant itself instead of the specialty outlets. And since it’s my dad’s birthday, we decided to make use of the occasion to go there and dine. Perhaps it was one of the best ideas that we could have. Haha.

The restaurant’s ambience at Centrepoint is rather warm, dark and cosy. At least the air con is moderately cold and not insanely freezing. Then again, most of us had warm water. Now the dishes that we had. For me, I ordered an Angus Ribeye X-Cut, which simply put, it’s heavier than the normal Angus Ribeye by 100g. Mum and Dad had the King Salmon Fillet, Andrea had the Chicken Provencal, Natalie had the Halibut, so did Jolene and Alex had the Chicken and Apple Sausage.

For every maincourse, you get to choose 2 different side dishes, which varies with many different types. Amongst all of the items that we ordered were baked potato, mashed potato, cheesy shell, cheesy potato, potato wedges, cream brocolli, hot buttered mushrooms and onion rings. Of all the items here, the baked potato, potato wedges, onion rings and the hot buttered mushrooms are commendable. Baked potato was finely done, with bacon bits. Adding a little more salt will do the trick as well.

Potato wedges were good, onion rings will filled with a good amount of – of course – onions, and fried to golden brown. Not too oily as well. The hot buttered mushrooms were my favourite though, it was what I ordered. The button mushrooms were so soft and cooked with butter, it’s no wonder  I couldn’t get enough of the freshness of the mushroom as well as it’s great fungus taste. Haha.

The King Salmon fillet was quite good especially when it’s well done, with the fish being quite fresh, and cooked with a fine seasoning. Andrea’s Chicken Provencal as well as Alex’s Chicken and Apple Sausage was really good, with the chicken not being overdone, with the meat tasting as great as a chicken chop. The sauce that they use was quite fantastic too. And same goes for the sausage, which was really filling. Haha.

The Halibut – or Flat fish – was also really fresh in taste. The texture of the fish meat was really soft and smooth. And the fish skin was great. Like totally grilled perfectly to suit taste buds. Haha. As for my Ribeye, I would say that the portion they give was rather huge. The meat was really thick but the medium rare was rather bloody, which was still fine with me given the fact that the beef was juicy and tender. They had this brown sauce which was really nice when it goes together with the beef though. Haha.

In all, they have great service staff there that are willing to help you whenever you need, and of course, price wise are really quite worth to pay them for. And you get to fill your stomach like totally while you eat till your heart’s content. Be sure to visit there because I might just will once again. =)

Let me start by saying that this is a place that everyone – or anyone – should patronise. Firstly because of it’s good comfy couches and artistic layout of furniture and furnishing that makes it so simple yet with so much head room for you to feel relax after a day’s work or maybe during lunch as well.

Located at La Salle SIA, I head there with my usual group of friends and took the couch seatings for some finger food and stuff. Drinks wise, they have their usual alcoholic and non-alcoholic ones, all good for anyone with or without the desire to drink. Reminds me of Indochine, just nicer. =) Basically, there are many things that I could say but saying too much is just over-describing it, and I rather you patronise there to feel the difference. They do play chill-out music there with sometimes a tinge of lounge or perhaps some Michael Buble, jazz style.

Now to the food. I have 5 things to introduce here that we ordered and we felt that it was great. Firstly was the fries. The fries are so addictive that we have thoughts of boycotting the Shaker Fries from McDonalds. It’s not as oily, not as salty, yet it smells real good and it tastes really fantastic. You should try this.

Photobucket

Then we ordered something different. Something called the Otah Bruschetta. Usually a bruschetta will consist of diced tomatoes on toasted french bread (if I’m not wrong), but for this, obviously, the tomatoes are replaced with a layer of “mashed” otah. And yes, needless to say, that combination is as good as eating bread with otah from some bakery – with a difference because of the toasted feel of the bread. =)

Photobucket

Cravings after cravings came knocking on our tongues, so we started to order a pizza with prawn and wasabi mayo + Bonito flakes. Thin in crust I would say, yet the amount of prawn was rather little. But the freshness of the prawn made it all better. The wasabi mayo was new though, which added a little bit – or a tiny bit – of spiciness to the pizza. Overall, it’s a good dish to behold. 8 pieces, rather oval in shape, and at $9.90, it’s a steal.

Photobucket

David had his dessert, some berry thing which I forgotten the name. Was a bit disappointed when we didn’t get to try their cheesecake as well as their waffles and ice cream and maple. But the berry dessert thing was something different I would say – just give it a try. I couldn’t conjure the taste though. Perhaps easily said, a bit creamy, yet cakey, yet fruity. It’s just a different take on dessert and if publicised, I guess this dessert can go a long way. =)

Photobucket

Last but not least is the chicken wings. It’s like really well done and cooked that no words could describe how these chicken wings are so tasty. And the fact that the temptation to eat more lingers, I would really want to eat the chicken wings that they make once again. According to chef Suban, he says they use soy sauce, which explains the aromatic smell from far. Nice.

Photobucket

Ambience wise has been said earlier, and with good service and prices that are affordable for most range of people, I would recommend this place for chill outs and birthdays and dinner parties. It’s even better when during special events, a stage is there ready for performances by bands and whoever. Great place indeed. =)

Ate Too Much.

I don’t wanna go to bed with a freaking full stomach. Last night – accompanied by today – are 2 days that I had 4 meals (2 lunches and 2 dinners) that cost A LOT, with quantity that surpasses the amount of popcorn you can find in a package deal at Golden Village. Portions were large, food was ever flowing. I’m starting to become so paranoid that I might just not eat.

It’s…. really….. insanity…. at….. it’s….. best…..

Then again, for last night’s dinner, it helped digest a lot after much LOL-ing was concerned. I never laughed so hard for so long already. That might be the reason why I lost my voice after last night’s clubbing session though. Lianjin’s leaving for his “education” country. Haha. Bon Voyage my friend, see you soon. =)

Enough, now some pictures from 15 minutes last night. =)

Now to get some ample rest. My eye’s are shutting.

Sunday Away.

And yet again, the weekend passed so quickly. Clouds moved like typhoons spinning, sun rises and sets like elevators of the Pan pacific. The day and night of the weekends are rather packed but hasty. And I have here with me some photos to highlight the weekend and perhaps the previous weekends and some other weekends. =) This post will be heavy. Like picture heavy. Really. Believe me.

To start off, Joyce’s birthday on the 15th August.

Now to my own bed. =)

Eyelash.

Today over dinner, I discovered that my sisters do have naturally long eyelashes. And my mum went boasting like “I also have last time what, if not how to have kids that have naturally long eyelashes?”

So as everyone will know, the imagination can really run. And yes, it ran so far that I wonder how do I even get it back to my head.

Apparently, I believe most females have seen those kinda fake eyelashes that can extend till as far as perhaps your forehead? Or maybe those fashion fakies that is rather colourful as well as pretty weird at the same time? Yes, so with regards to my imagination, my question is – What if your eye lashes were so effing LONG that when you close your eyes, your eye lash reaches to your chin?

Let me show me my fucked up and lousy “artist” impression of long lashes.

eyelash

Ugly eh. Well that’s because I have lousy skills in such stuff.

Then again, women will go all out to be beautiful ain’t it. All the make up and all the shit. I just did a minor research on a typical make-up thing – The Lipstick. I wonder if any females out there do really know the history behind all the make up. Well, for the answer, from this webby, it describes the history of the lipstick. Here’s the info. Credits to http://www.day2dayskincare.com/product-review/history-of-lipsticks-153/

The history of lipstick starts in 1930s when the semi-precious jewels were being crushed for applying it to the lips as well as on the areas around eyes. But there are evidences which show that lipsticks were used by women of the ancient civilisations like Indus Valley.

The women of Ancient Egypt use to extract a dye of purplish red colour from focus-algin, bromine mannite as well as iodine, which has caused severe illness. Again if you see the evidence, Cleopatra had used lipsticks which were made by crushing carmine beetles. This gave red coloured pigments which were applied by making ants as the base.

The initial shimmering lipsticks contained pearlescence, which is normally found on the scales of fishes.

In the Islamic Golden Age, Abu al-Quasim al-Zahrawi, who was a famous cosmetologist invented the solid lipsticks. These were the rollable perfumed stock which were presented in special moulds. He has described them in the Al-Tasrif.

The popularity of lipsticks in England began somewhere around 16th century when Queen Elizabeth I who was reigning England made the fashion statement by applying bright red lipsticks on white faces. These lipstcicks were a blend of red stains from certain plants as well as the beeswax.

The movie industry started popularising the use of lipstciks around the Second Wolrd War.

Lipsticks are commonly used by women. The women start using the lipsticks only after they reach adulthood or adoloscence.

The lipsticks are not normally used by men. Only in theatres men prefer using lipsticks. The lipsticks used by males is known by the name of manstick.

The wax-free form of lip colour which is like a semi-permanent liquid was invented by Lip-Ink International in 1990s.

But what makes women so dependable on make-ups? Well, correct me, but I think everyone would always want to have that “first impression counts” kind of mentality. Presentational perhaps. But if everyone were to ask about natural beauty, is the makeup kit a justifiable thing? Yes it does make one prettier, but is it the amount or the lesser, the better?

I wonder. I ponder.

And when my mum brought up  the fact that my dad has double eyelids and my brother and I only had one, I went -_-” for a while. =)

Some photos on Saturday’s chill out.

Live life everyday like tomorrow’s your last.

Updates throughout the Weekend.

Yes I know I haven’t been updating regularly because of work and other stuff that is happening. Let me sum up last week when the nation celebrated it’s 44th anniversary.

Friday – Work ended early, and I still dread the fact of walking into my camp. So freaking far inside.

But after work was a breeze. Went home to change up before heading to Central to collect my pay for AYG and subsequently had a catered dinner by Content Craft. Great food though. Importantly, it’s free. LOL. So met up with Dawn and Jianwei and Fukie. But later, Fukie left for SIM’s night cycling thingy, so I followed but took a bus from SIM to David’s place to slack with Suban. Then did some “homework” for Ran before supposingly going out for supper with the yellow car before we decided to watch Freedom Writers on HBO.

Anyway the movie is indeed amazing. So racial and subjective.

Ok, Saturday was meet-up-with-the-Nobles-Day. Met up with Colin and Xueli for K Lunch first. Sang my hearts out though. But K Box is really quite expensive. Maybe somewhere else cheaper? Haha. Zai joined us before Suban and David and Gilbert all enter the fray. Good to catch up with everyone else though there were 2 absentees. LOL.

Afterwards, we literally hiked from Cineleisure to Orchard Central to Hotel Rendezvous to La Salle SIA to Sim Lim Square to Golden Mile Complex to Zam Zam for murtabak and other stuff. Muq joined in from there and after that, we all left for La Salle SIA again to chill out at 15 minutes. A great place for gatherings and chill out sessions. =)

Sunday was Where Got Ghost day with the Family and Colin plus Zainal. Hilarious I tell you. After that was more laughter watching The Hangover. I think I had a lot of laughter for the day. Then it was out for supper in the yellow car and Suban and Jeslyn joined in. Went to Jurong Hill though. Had a fantastic time looking at the view. And photos. Haha. Sent Colin home and then slept real late. Was really tired already.

Amazing enough, I woke up at 10am. Thanks to Dad, who asked me if I wanted to do a foot massage. Of course, I dragged myself down to the shopping centre and once he started on the feet, I was like tolerating the excruciating pain. By the way, it’s suppose to be painful. But I didn’t know it will hurt THAT MUCH. Woke up literally. But felt that my feet isn’t that tired anymore and that it feels lighter when I walk. Sometimes I just don’t know how amazing such things work eh. Haha.

And then it was Family day again with food food food and more food. I will seriously grow fat at this rate. Insane.

Picture time. =)

More updates tomorrow. =)

Ugly Singaporeans again?

Ok, as I was on the bus on the way to Kallang, there’s one old man with a walking stick that boarded the bus. Obviously if an old man has to use a walking stick, you gotta obviously deduce the fact that he’s feeble ain’t it? So I was looking at this 4 ladies sitting down on a row of seats in one of the newer buses that you see on the roads.

Let me describe them to you. All 4 of them are aunties. Yes, your typical neighbourhood aunties who will go all out of discounts, dig their legs in public, run as fast to snatch a seat in the train, talk loud and laugh out loud at coffee shops and whatever actions or moves you can think of. Except one of the aunties is a woman from China. I won’t really classify her as an auntie but her looks and dressing is like those auntie trying to go for getai.

Then seemingly their kaypoh eyes all glanced towards the front door, and they all saw the old man. Let me reiterate – I saw ALL OF THEIR EYES looking towards the old man. Then you know what happened? They look back and looked around them, hoping that either the 3 of them will stand up to give up their seats. Whoever they were. And they were all doing the same thing, glancing around, not doing anything, not moving their asses off to give up to that feeble old man trying very hard to stand in the bus.

Of course, of all people I would expect, is the woman from China to give up her seat. But she did. She stood up graciously, guided the old man and pointed him for him to seat. You know what’s worse? All the 3 other aunties just grinned and continue enjoying their warming of their seats with their big fat ugly asses.

Now the question I would like to bring up – Is the typical inconsiderate Singaporean so bad to the point that we need a foreigner to stand up and give up a seat to our local old folks? Where’s the graciousness? Where’s the courtesy? Sometimes I feel that typical “aunties” here in Singapore should be given a good reprimanding. Hmm.

Well, in a short update about recent days, went out with the Nobles on Saturday with guest star Eugene. Visited Joycey and Xueli at Clarke Quay’s food festival before slacking around there. And yes, photos. Haha.

Past few weeks was work and dinner, work and slack. But last night was the ultimate killer, making me sleep at 4:30 after work from Starhub on Sunday. Busy sorting out photos last night. The brain almost conked out though. But I’m ok. Oh wells.

Went out to scout today with noelle and walked really really a long distance. Till the point my feet had blisters from wearing slippers. Tiring but fun to walk around and see places that usually you cant find. =)

Oh well, sometimes how we all wanted to enjoy life but still we understand the fact that life doesn’t come easy most of the time. Patience and happiness are both virtues hard to master, but once attained, I guess you might just be the luckiest person in the world. Sometimes I would really want my life to be happier than what I have though sometimes I know saying is much easier than doing. Well, life is always a mystery yet to be discovered.

If only life wasn’t that terrible.

Another Busy Week.

Wednesday

Went to Butter Factory at night with Ran. Then later followed by Terence and Vnce. Eventually saw many people. Ash came down, followed by Jolyn, then saw many familiar faces and made new friends. It was the happiest clubbing night I had in a long while. Of course, reaching home late isn’t a good idea as well. Tired like shit.

Thursday

Prata time with the Nobles. Then followed by Iceskimo which I didn’t eat. But it was a crazy crap talk nonetheless. So much for carraiges and a train. *looks at Suban and David*. LOL.

Friday

Rushing around the whole evening. Like mad. Really. From Bugis to get some stuff for mum’s mahjong set, with her paranoid about the shop closing early. Then I rushed to Bishan to get my street soccer shoe for Sunday’s session, then rushed down to Paragon to help mum collect her SK-II stuff and then a fruitless walk to Cineleisure in an attempt to buy another iPhone earset for Alex but he didn’t want it and then I made my way down to City Hall to meet Muq, Colin and girl girl. Same, dinner at Marina Food Loft with a beautiful sunset greeting our meals and a weird Indian cleaner lifting plates up to clean the area of the table below it. Girl girl left early after Waffles, then the remaining 3 went emo-ing at Esplanade before taking a good stroll to One Fullerton and back to Esplanade.

Saturday

Went out with the Nobles to catch Horsemen, which was – indeed – quite disappointing. Skip. I will blog about that later. Waffles as usual and we met up with Zainal. And David for dinner. And I went home to get the car. From City Hall. Was lazy to drive but still, I didn’t want to pay for a cab ride home. So I did what I had to do – which is to chaffeur. HAHA. Then again, we spent like 5 hours chilling out at Helipad being interrogated by girl girl herself while enjoying passing clouds, eye candies, a white guy and a black woman trying to be kinky while they sip away their alcohol and juices with Colin becoming an endangered Red Panda and girl girl telling us 1 + 1 = 3. Nice on Zainal.

Then it was a crazy McDonalds drive-thru with Colin not being happy with his curry sauce spilling dick. Then I sent all home before reaching home at almost 5. Ok make that 5am.

Sunday

Napped till 8am and I was off for soccer today in the morning at Sengkang. Rained till like 11 before we can finally get down to a good game. But I fell down. Pain. Just pain.

Had a slight gash on my elbow area. Now I can’t lean my elbow on anything.
And I have small cuts on my wrist. Now I can’t wear a watch.

Think about it, I realise that I’m rather numb to pain already. Perhaps I have grown to tolerate pain. Which is good. Anyways, a guy without scars ain’t a man.

Humour Time.

Dad was talking to Nat over dinner, asking her why she didn’t eat the vegetables.

Dad: Why never eat the vegetables?
Nat: (silently shakes her head)
Dad: Eat already your skin smooth….. Like mine.
Nat: LOL.
Dad: Mosquito stand already will slide and fall off one.
Nat: -_-” LOL.

So there’s this 10 year old kid (from the looks of it.) sitting at the table beside us and her mother came bringing her food to her. It was the Japanese paper hotpot dish (if you know what I mean.) and she started dining happily. Then my dad was looking and started to say…

Dad: Later eat halfway then the paper burn then the soup all spill down onto the fire then nothing left to eat. *grins*

Tell me my dad ain’t humourous today. Then he didn’t did his usual trade-in for a new phone, which he is still considering given the fact that Nat’s phone isn’t working that well.

So what happened? He contemplated and eventually went to buy a couple watch with my mum. Damaged done? $400. Which if he has done so, could have bought a Blackberry with $88 more and I could have used it. Damn.

And yes, mum bought me a REAL Japan-imported Domokun handphone keychain. LOL. I know it sounds kiddy and childish but it freaking cost $12.60. But for a thing from Japan, I’m just willing to pay it. But next time I will just go there and buy. Haha. I think that is to ease my pain on the wound that I suffered from the fall. Haha. Thanks mum. Happy Mother’s Day to you mum. You know we all love you very much. =D

Let’s hope this week won’t be that of a mad rush. I need my beauty sleep. Like now.

Don’t Look Back in Anger.

Credits to Aloysius’s blog. Thought it was quite meaningful actually.

There once was a little boy who had a bad temper.

His Father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his  temper, he must hammer a nail into the back of the fence.

The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence.

Over the next few weeks, as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence.

Finally the day came when the boy didn’t lose his temper at all. He told his father about it and the father suggested that the  boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper.

The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone. The father took his son by the  hand and led him to the fence.
He said, “You  have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one.  You can put a knife in a man and draw it out.

It won’t matter how many times you say “I’m  sorry”, the wound is still there.  A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one.

Sometimes I think that it isn’t all worth it to be angry over someone or something. You know, like making your lifespan shorter just because it’s someone that pisses you off in some way. Ask yourself – is it worth it? Is it worth your time to be angry about? Brooding over matters will only incur more scars in your heart. How not to be angry you ask. Well, it’s your own discipline to do so, like any other things apart from trying not to be angry.

Oh well.

Had home cooked food today. Mum’s cooking is still forever the best somehow. Will never leave home without it unless circumstance states otherwise. Noodles with meatball, fishball, beansprouts and vegetables. Healthy yet tasty!

I just gotta stop all this. I’m gonna save up for Japan this year end. This plan is so gonna work out just right. =)

私のための待ち時間日本、のでi’ 今年そこに行くm端! =D

It’s beginning.

Ok, I haven’t told anyone about this yet but I’m about to venture into something small for myself. Those who don’t know, I hope one day you will happen to call me and say : ” Hey, I saw it! It’s cool!”. Those who know, it’s a secret for now. Shut up will ya. LOL.

It’s somehow like my first venture and I’m so looking forward to it. For once I never thought of it. Now everything is surfacing. Somehow doing business isn’t as bad as it seems but taking the biggest considerations are like challenging yourself to a dare in a “Truth of Dare” game.

Well, it’s a prospect that I’m relishing. I hope this goes on to bigger things. Hopefully. =) Now I have to make a placard. Where do I even start….

I see many curious faces now. Hahahahaha. Happy Guessing People.

No Doubt it’s Tiring.

Alright, back to blogging after a very very very very very very very very very very strenuous weekend.

Saturday was the Canon Photomarathon 2008 that I participated in. Woke up like 5:15am just to prepare myself. Left to meet Brendan at Bukit Batok before heading there together. As the first assignment began, the boring part is that all 3 assignment themes are just so damn difficult and…. hideous.

What can you take when the themes are “Change”, “Dreams” and “Freedom”? They may sound easy but definition wise, it is a whole new dimension. And the photos that won are just photos that are of creativity and perhaps less-related to the topic. Sigh. Too bad I ain’t creative. But it’s stupid that they won.

Luckily I tagged along Maxton and his car for the whole event, if not walking could have been a killer for me. All 5 of us (including Jerome, Qingxiang and Lester) had to run and shelter ourselves from a sudden downpour. In between the whole 3 themes that stretches 10.5 hours, there is NO lunch and dinner breaks. Lunch was rushed out at Changi – with Popeyes of course. Haha.

Dinner was ate at like 11 plus? Went to MacPherson Road to eat Prawn Noodles, which was pretty amazing given the fact that the uncle that was serving us yesterday was a tad rude in his looks and serving manner.

Maxton manage to send me home yesterday after a very long and gruelling day at the event. Then on the way back I received a call from Fadzli to play soccer the next morning at NP. I was like….. DAMN. But then I obliged. I haven’t had a game of soccer since Zainal went into the army. I had to accept it – when it’s like 9am. Haha.

So I reached home at 12:30am. Then I woke up at 7:45am. Then I played soccer. Ate at Al-Azar at 1 plus. Reached home at 2 plus. Bathed and packed up then I went to nap. Was having quite a bad headache. I slept through it. Till now. Hahaha.

Will blog about the Prawn noodle shop and Al Azar. But here’s some considerably normal shots of my own that I took during the Canon Photomarathon. Guess which one I submitted. Haha. Enjoy.

Pit Stop Issues.

After all the hype of the Singapore Grand Prix that happened over the weekend, Ferrari Fans still can’t help but say – WHY MASSA, WHY?

As you have read this, you would have already seen the infamous pit-stop incident that Felipe Massa and the whole Ferrari garage was involved. I bet you didn’t see another incident involving David Coulthard, which ended almost the same problem.

Similiar problems you were saying? Actually quite similiar.

You see, the Ferrari pit stop incident happened because the green light was flashed when the pit crew was still filling up the fuel into the car. And by the norms, the green light was flashed (the light comes from a device that looks like a horizontal traffic light) once the fuel valve has broken contact from the car’s fuel inlet, thus triggering the light to switch to green.

One of the Unhappier times at the pit stop for Massa.

At that point, Massa wasn’t wrong at all as he followed the light and left upon the lights switching to green. Then the whole thing just went awry and Massa drove off literally looking like a sperm rushing to get to the egg. This, from what I see, is a fault of technology. Ever since they switched to a mechanical (or automatic) device, their pit stops haven’t really been successful.

The reason that I could think of for switching to the device is because the time consumption is less, giving the fact that in F1, time is so so precious, even for a fraction of a second. (The movement of the Lollipop man away from the front of the vehicle and the movement away from a clear front after fuel input is considered here.)

Now, what about the David Coulthard’s problem? The Red Bull Racing team was doing the same just that they are using the “Lollipop Man” in front rather than the mechanical device that Ferrari were using. And guess what? Even with the Lollipop Man, they still manage to make a mistake. Coulthard bolted forward even when the fuel valve is still attached to the car fuel inlet, making 2 of the pit crew losing their balance. But Coulthard realised the problem and stopped it’s tracks before it will end up drastic for the Red Bull Racing team.

At this point, who’s at fault? The ONLY reason I can think of is the Lollipop Man. He’s kinda like in a sleepy mood. Not attentive enough, he almost caused the team to falter at such a situation that could prove crucial to any F1 race drivers.

Happier Times for Red Bull.

So the verdict?

Well, If I were to suggest on something more logical, then I would suggest that the lighting system be controlled seperately from fuel valve. Which means to say, the Lollipop Man will control the lighting. So when the fuel valve is released, all he needs to do is to press a button and the car is ready to go.

Questions that may arouse are things like why do I need another extra pit crew to just press a button when all I need is to remove the valve and the driver can move off? It’s still possible to stay on with the mechanical device – provided that the sensitivity of the deviced is tuned to the point where until ALL contact points between the valve and the inlet are not in touch, then the light will turn on. Think about it.

To me, the Lollipop man is crucial in every pit stop. For Ferrari, different aspects are put into consideration, given the fact that they cannot rely on human error when it comes to races.

So what do you prefer? Man or Machine? =)
