Also known as the Samsung GT-N7000, this is one big-ass communication system. I really mean it when it comes to the size. But amazingly, it’s light, or should I say, equally light as the iPhone 3Gs.

Outlook of Phone

Lets look at the outer part of the phone first.

The phone is not that thick, and it is simple and sleek. The huge ass screen is good enough for me to watch a movie or any youtube video that i have decided to stream. The battery is another huge ass thing, but it make sense because the phone is huge as well.

I just ponder on the rationale of having a flimsy cover at the back. It feels like the sides can break anytime. Other than that, I’m comfortable throughout the phone because of it’s simple outlook.

It can still fit into my pocket, but that’s because I’m wearing jeans from GStar (deep pockets though). But if you are a lady, I think you will probably treat it as a tablet.

Greatness of it.

Now… let’s venture on the inside.

The phone display is crisp clear and i must say, I’m pretty impressed with the vivid colours and imaging that it can show. The camera itself offers a pretty good glimpse of what it offers as another media platform, and that this camera also comes with a flash. The best part? It’s not laggy, unlike my stupid iPhone 3Gs.

Apart from that, the phone has 7 main screens to slide and input important stuff like notepads, weather, news, email (which can be sync-ed to your gmail account). It also contains an application icon for you to access even more applications that you have either downloaded from the Samsung “Download” app, or whatever applications that the phone comes with by default.

Basically, it also comes with a stylus that accompanies with the amazing function capable of performing a “magic wand” from photoshop, cutting the shape of the object and doing a copy & paste function. The notepad app that allows the use of the stylus provides real time writing and drawing without any lag in the system.

It also have similar functions of the iPhone, like if you hold down your finger for a while on an icon, the icon is available for you to move to whichever place that you decide. The stylus has also a function that allows you to utilise gestures to quickly toggle various functions from any screen, whereby it after you hold the stylus button and hold it on screen, it will capture the screen and it can then be annotated on any screen (e.g. the map).

The other amazing thing that I found out is that the phone allows you to crop a picture freely whenever you need to, which the iPhone can’t do so.

The phone also has a default video maker application, and it gives you the flexibility to input all your video recordings and combine it for further editing IN THE PHONE. Good stuff eh. And when you accidentally exit the application, the application apparently auto-saves your project. =) Oh did I forget to mention that they also include a micro-SD card slow for you to input additional memory.

Last but not least, the phone has this intuitive hand motion function that allows the instinctive reactions to the phone. For example, if you would like to do a screen capture, all you need to do is a “Palm Sweep” action, where you sweep your hand from left to right and then right to left, just to capture the screen. Cool eh?

That’s not all. By using the “Palm touch” action, it will trigger the pause & resume function while watching videos or movies on phone. The last gesture would be the “Tab & Twist” function, where with the use of 1 finger, if will enable focused screen capture and rotation of the text or image. Nice! It kinda eases the usage of the phone by many actions available.

So what’s bad about it?

Now the negatives.

When I first resetted the phone, I went home to use it for about half and hour or so, and suddenly the “Back” button has a sensor issue, and somehow I couldn’t exit anything unless I press the “Home” button. Therefore, I have to reset the phone AGAIN just to get everything working right again.

The phone, like the iPhone, doesn’t allow the download of videos from any website. I tried and I realise that I can’t do anything about it. Worse, I have a video editing application and I can’t download a video to try it out. Funny.

At one point, I tried to find out where the screensaver thing was, and I realise that it was an application that was repetitive everytime it goes on standby, and it’s really irritating as it runs the battery life. So I took a while before I found the uninstallation tab and thus, removed it.

The battery life was a bit unpredictable, as i played a game for about 15 minutes or so, and it dropped about 10%. I wonder if it’s right or not, but when I surf the net, the battery life still kinda stays well put.

Conclusion

If you are frugal and thrifty, Then I suggest you get the phone while it’s on a mobile plan. In my opinion, this phone is definitely great and sufficient for me. It will be even more useful for people like businessmen who have busy schedules because the calender allows you to organise and plan your activities very well and clear.

Overall, this is a good phone and apart from the size, it is a great phone to use. Like a smaller iPad on the go.

the sad part about work is that when you tried really hard to make things better and change things to facilitate life better here for all and people still don’t notice. it makes it worse when people comment on the negative stuff of you. it really didn’t help when my boss is some cause of it and he gets away by not acknowledging his errors, and you have to suck it up and admit it’s your fault instead of his. the bigger sin of his was to let the authority know of it when he has done far more worse issues than i do.

save the comment on code of conduct when his actions are self-exemplary of the wrong.  you are not even anywhere near considerate to others in your department. you sorta disallow myself from going on urgent leave during a preparation period and you actually went away for 3 fucking days. where’s that integrity?

I want to start new. give me my next location of work. I’m about to explode here anytime.

Work is still as hell, and it has never changed still. I’m always finding my position in the office to be unfair and that it makes it worse when I have to take every shit up my sleeve just because I’m a lower ranking personnel. I don’t get it still.

But bad stuff aside, I’m gonna get married! Engagement day is July next year and tentatively my plan is on the 29th! And I couldn’t wait! These are the sequence of events that happened for me and my dearie Amanda.

1) 21st Jan 11 – Met over a game of mahjong.

2) 23rd Jan 11 – Movie date

3) 26th Jan 11 – Told her I liked and subsequently loved her

4) 29th Jan 11 – She got back from her trip, and unknowingly held hands. *shy*

5) 30th Jan 11 – Just sms-ed her to pop the question if that we are offically together.

6) 31st Jan 11 – stunned the world of facebook that I’m in a relationship.

7) 5th Feb 11 – She came over my place. Parents seen her for the first time.

Every other day – I became a regular customer of her house.

9) 8th Apr 11 – Went Krabi for a birthday trip. Got a surprise from her during my birthday!

10) 2 June 11 – Selected our BTO flat for our future home!

11) 1 – 28th July 11 – Everyday is a Birthday surprise for her! 28th is her real birthday btw.

12) 29th July 11 – D-Day. I proposed to her. She said yes of course. =))))

So many things happened in such a short time. And now I’m looking forward to building a future with her. I guess I can only say one thing and I will remember it for the rest of my life.

Let’s just say that the girls that I have met and woo-ed in life did not really understand the real me, and that they did not really bothered much about my existence and effort to achieve their rock-material hearts. And that they do not appreciate and feel unconditional when I have spent and treated them better. My looks aren’t the best, but certainly I would know that none of the girls that I have tried would have any better hearts in themselves. Too bad if you met a mad man in your life, because good men sometimes do really exist still, just that you are either too materialistic or too blind to even explore and see it for yourselves.

At least there’s one thing for sure. My fiancee saw it. =)

I lost all my time for many other things. Probably now i know the meaning of sacrifice.

And yes, I think I’m the last one standing among the nobles to have a blog and still blog about it.

And I didn’t even took the time to update the whole 2010 in my blog.

I guess work, life, friends, and yes, love, took a turn for the better.

Now that I’m so busy, I wonder if I ever had the time to blog again.

I will still keep this cyber-diary of mine, to make sure that when I read everything that happened, I’m sure enough that I can stand here and brag about the decisions I chose because that’s what made me what I am today.

And perhaps that some decisions were right and wrong.

But I guess it’s about moving on.

Now that I have come to the stage of stability, I would want to achieve more than what I have.

Onto the next path. And I hope that the woman I love now will walk this path with me.

More sacrifices to come. i hope my life will not be the one at stake. =/

I started school.

I still work.

But.

School sucks suddenly because of some miscommunication and I’m groupless and scrambling to find one more group mate before next Tuesday. Sigh.

Work sucks still because when I’m on leave or off, I still get phone calls whenever, wherever I am.

When will there ever be peace for me? To think that I want to be committed to my career and studies but these 2 things are already mind-fucking me.

What’s next now huh God, is this THE BEST YOU CAN GIVE ME.

Yes, I’m still around. Not that I have disappeared. Just not as active as usual.

I can’t believe I used to make it a point to blog everyday, and now that priorities have piled up, I guess being online is not my thing anymore, since no one will look for me online anyways. Probably I will only need like 30 minutes of checking the normal stuff everyday and I’m off to my own world.

I think people can’t really live without Facebook or Twitter these days. Perhaps it’s quite addictive. But I think there’s something more to life than just social networking websites no?

Then again, people like me without any plans will probably be stuck at home trying to figure out what to do on the internet, so we will probably end up patronising Facebook or Twitter.

Yes, plan-less people like me. =)

Don’t worry, not that I’m gone, I’m just keeping quiet that’s all.

If only we had snow. And if only the weather is so cold that snow falls instead of rain. We can’t do much during rainy periods, so might as well snow. Because I can at least thankfully build a snowman for once.

And yes, I’m typing this as I’m not feeling so well in the nose and throat department, having much sneezing periods and hiccups at the throat for almost a month. My body’s weak and frail. I guess I’m getting old and I’m feeling it the hard way. I need ample sleep and energy as well, but I can’t seem to retain that possibility of early days and nights. Any tips on this?

I did realise that my blog is getting more dusty and cobwebs-filled. I don’t have that energy and luxury to blog almost everyday like I used to. I guess it’s not an excuse but I believe that as life and work commitments get to you, you will find it hard to do many many things, and priorities start arranging themselves and at the end of the day, it’s how you manage to achieve more than just the required things you wish to achieve. Determinations don’t come easier, and if everyday I feel that it’s gonna rain, then I guess I don’t have much morale left to do things.

2011 will come as an abrupt year for me, as January really quick. And we don’t have the chance to change, do, amend or at least try something. 2011 will arrive to me as another year to pass, with work immensing, school starting, and so many activities coming up that I probably will forget when I was born. I guess shocking can also be used to describe this year. I will see what I can come up with since everything’s so normal these days. Creativity is the new norm.
